- N2125TGkathrynb0 contributionsGreat walking tour with a very knowledgeable and passionate guideVery much enjoyed our walking tour of Darwin with John who has lots of knowledge of (and is passionate about) Darwin and it's association with the war. We learnt so much and found it all very interesting. Gained a new appreciation of Darwins involvement in the Australian military. The walk itself is not too strenuous and there were plenty of pauses along the way.Written 22 August 2024
- 461maisie0 contributionsInformative and funFabulous guide. Robin (as a local) has a wonderful knowledge of the history of Darwin. You will hear quirky, informative and interesting facts. It's given a much broader perspective and appreciation of Darwin and it's residents both past and present.Written 16 August 2024

- helenlL9507LB0 contributionsPassionate locals knowledge - PRICELESS!Highly recommend 🤗💕. John is a local who is passionate in sharing the little Hidden Gems of Darwin most I had just walked by. I did two tours with John & his passion never wavered. He took the time to find out my interests (& all group members) & incorporated as much as he could in the short time. What wasn’t covered John gave easy to follow instructions for us to go back & find in our own time, which I did & really appreciated his advice. I loved both tours and would do more if I had time. I highly recommend Walk Darwin Tours. Thank you so much John; very much appreciated.Written 6 September 2023

A perfect afternoon having a guided tour of the tropical gardens with inside information and Darwin folklore. Our guides were Rachel and John, both providing excellent commentary on various trees and history of the area. I would highly recommend this tour, even for people who aren’t avid gardeners. Wear comfortable shoes, a hat and take plenty of water.

Thank you for taking a moment to highly recommend our tour in the George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens, Howard J, and give prospective guests an insight to your experience. It's the perfect place to spend a leisurely couple of hours, isn't it? And, Wow!, it was Rachel's very first tour with Walk Darwin so we are super pleased to hear she did a great job, thank you.

We did two tours with Walk Darwin during our short stay in Darwin, the ‘Meet the plants walk’ through the Botanical Gardens with Nerida and the ‘Hidden Secrets of Darwin walk’ with John the following day.
Both walks were casual yet super informative and we learnt things we definitely would not have gained on our own. We enjoyed our walks throughly and would highly recommend for anyone looking to gain a further understanding of the history and stories of these fascinating places.

The best way to explore the Darwin Botanic Gardens. John, our guide, knew a great deal, not only about plants but about the history of the gardens. He took us to places I would not have found without John's guidance.

Robin led us on a 2 hour walking tour introducing us to the Botanic Gardens. She was very informative and absolutely delightful. She shared lots of interesting tales and experiences and certainly knew her plants! It was a hot afternoon so we kept to the shade but we will definitely be back to explore more.

Very enjoyable 1 hour free guided tour of the Botanic Gardens by Walk Darwin funded by the government. This is not a serious botanic tour but an easy paced overview with history about the gardens and advice as to other sections that may be of interest to the guest.
Suited us just perfectly.

This is an excellent, informative and well-researched tour covering the history of the gardens and many of the plants and wildlife living in the gardens.
Yvonne, our guide, could answer all of our questions, and guide us through some stunning seasonal flowerings - of the boab tree, cannonball tree and many varieties of ornamental ginger. She also knew where to find a barking owl (snoozing high up in a tree) and lovely blue-winged kookaburra.
I joined the final free walking tour of the gardens (mid Oct 2018), organised with Walk Darwin by the Darwin City Council. It would definitely be worth paying for this excellent tour.

A relaxed opportunity to learn more about the history of the gardens and some key features. It provides a springboard to further explore those areas that you are interested in. The talk was informative and conducted at a good pace. Questions were happily welcomed. A great introduction!

A one hour walking tour in the heat was not something that I had planned but very pleased that we took the tour. The guide was knowledgeable and interesting and we walked at a pace that was easy to keep up with.
Most enjoyable, as was the cold drink in the cafe afterwards.
