      Excellent
Great tour and well organised. Bus and boat were both comfortable and guides were very knowledgeable with many interesting stories. Considerate of passengers and well worth a half day and the price.

Disappointed as I was really looking forward to going!
Big swell - 1 passenger couldn’t even get on because of it! One of the girls said this was the biggest swell they’d had as we were boarding I was a Solo traveller and I was told I could only sit in the back row because other groups were booked together Told we were given ‘ complimentary drinks’- that I paid for! I got off before we left

      Engaging sunset cruise
I sailed the sunset cruise on Friday, Sept. 6. The captain and his mates were awesome! They managed every aspect of the evening with ease and grace. We felt engaged by all three. Good conversation flowed. The fish and chips were delicious. I had a wonderful time!

      A must
Was a very nice evening, nice and relaxed. Fish was fresh Barramundi from a local eatery on the warf. My wife had Gluten Free grilled fish that we ordered before the trip directly through the operator, they were very accommodating. The first drink was free and then at a fee after that. Crew were very informative and relaxed. Sunset was very good.

      Well worth doing
Great tour and excellent tour guides, very well informed. Bus was in great condition with lots of space and easy to get in and out of, not too big. Tour guide was very informative not only on WWII but generally. The boat trip was also very informative. This was a great tour, especially not overly long and tiring.

      Disappointing commentry.
The views were amazing from out on the harbour. I went out to hear about the bombing of Darwin in 1942, however I came of the boat very disappointed as the guide spoke more about Darwin politics and his very negative stories about Darwin.

      Stunning, Relaxed, friendly and fun!
The crew were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and fun. The fish and chips and a cold beer the perfect accompaniment to a beautiful Darwin sunset. Would definitely recommend this tour for a family or couple wanting a laid back Darwin experience. The perfect way to end our Darwin and Kakadu holiday 💛

A microphone is needed….sit down the front
Was great to see the sunset, but we were sitting down the back of the boat (allocated seating) so heard none of the commentary along the way, was really disappointing, especially paying $109 essentially for fish and chips. I’ve done all other SeaDarwin trips previously which were excellent. Perhaps the narrator could wear the headset that’s on board so everyone can hear and be informed, not just some. Sunset was beautiful and Fish and Chips really good.

Bombing of Darwin - a must see
I recommend this tour for anyone with an interest in Darwin and its history. Our tour guide Mariet was very helpful and informative on all aspects on this city's bombing during WW2. She obviously has a passion for this subject and was able to convey this easily and with great interest. The visit to the museum was a valuable aspect of this tour, and more time could have been spent there. The combination of bus and boat tour made for a comprehensive morning's tour.

      Forgotten Piece of History
Interesting tour where I learnt many facts about the bombing of Darwin and Northern Queensland that I knew nothing about. Enjoyed the harbour cruise which included bombing sites, even though it emphasised what must have been a horrific event for the people of Darwin.

Interesting tour which could been great but not as advertised .

One of the main reasons we took the tour was for the underwater camera to see the ship wreckage. The camera was not working and appeared it had not been working for some time the guide made some comment about it not working last few days . Not the guides fault but we feel this should have been made clear prior to our tour. This is really one of the main reasons for taking the tour as most other things can be viewed from shore .

Secondly we shared a tour with a large school tour group who were given prime seats up the front of the boat and we were stuck up the back despite having been at the dock earlier than the group arrived . I do not feel they should have sold the additonal seats on this tour if we were going to be treated as less favoured guests .

It effected the experience of my five year old as up the back the boat is higher and so the structure of the boat makes it harder to see and despite the guides saying we could sit on coaches towards front it had no sun coverage and they were low and facing wrong way . I just don’t agree that as paying guests we should have been treated this way. Normal protocol on a cruise is guests are let on in order they arrive .

I think the guide could tell I was not impressed and tried to accomodate us but really I think the combo of the camera not working and then being stuck at back would mean I wouldn’t recommend this as value for money . For a family of 4 it’s an expensive hour $180 and for that price these things should be taken care of .

Particularly the camera it was not as advertised and we should have been offered another tour or something

Darwin has a lot of WW11 historical significance. Going out on the harbour cruise was a highlight for me and the onboard commentary helped to give me an insight into Feb 1942 when the Japanese bombed the harbour. Cruising around the sites is very humbling and
and complemented me walking along the esplanade and seeing memorials and plaques on the land and going through the oil tunnels underground makes things so realistic. Even the virtual reality bombing display shows another perspective. This whole experience is very good way to learn about the history they don't teach in schools anymore and hear stories of the war in Darwin that our grandparents never really talked about.

This was a great couple of hours out on the water. The history was well told, relevant and informative. The boat and staff were really professionally presented and operated. My 14 year old son thought it was one of the best things he didin Darwin. Highly recommend for those seeking to know Australian history at the places it happened.

The cruise neatly complements, and can be taken in conjunction with, the Bombing of Darwin experience at the RFS on Stokes Hill Wharf. We learnt a lot about the dreadful day in Darwin in February 1942.
The guide was informative and amusing but we wished for more information about Darwin 1942 and less commentary on Northern Territory 21st century politics.

We did the bombing cruise of the harbour which was terrific. The guys commentating were very knowledgeable and gave us a great insight to what happened in the bombing of Darwin in 1942. The boat used was very comfortable with plenty of leg room. A must do trip.

This company is a small family business which provides a unique cruise that furthered our knowledge of Darwin’s WW2 history. Jim and Alan were so knowledgeable and added a personal touch to this important history of Darwin. They were also excellent boatmen and had warm, entertaining senses of humour. We thought we were already well informed, but acquired so much more local knowledge on this trip. Highly recommend. They also have a joint trip with the RFDS (Royal Flying Doctor Service), which we absolutely recommend, also. Thank you.

Had a brilliant tour of the bombing sites by sea. Here I am at 70 years of age, and this is something we were never told, and has remained shrouded in secrecy outside of darwin for more than 70 years!!! Capably, and engagingly commented by Rob, who was ably assisted by Georgia and Heather. Highly recommend. You arent out long enough to get seasick either. First class and so informative
When I left the hotel, the gps lied and told me it was a 20 minute walk, 35 mins later, I was still trying to get there. Called them from the end of the pier and said I had no hope of being there in 5 minutes, so they sent one of the ladies up to get me.
I am really glad they did, I wouldnt have missed it for quids!!!!

I've lived in Darwin for almost 30 years and have a reasonable knowledge of the local military history. I thought I'd go on this harbour cruise to see it all from a different angle. I learned so much more than I expected to. Jim and Rob tell great stories that make more sense of the basic war history you'll see at other attractions. They paint a better picture of why things happened the way they did, adding to the richness of the overall Military history of Darwin and it's people. Well worth it.
