Be ready for early morning pickup at your Ayers Rock Resort accommodation and then relax and enjoy the scenery on the ride to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.
Arrive at Kata Tjuta in time to catch the sunrise over the 36 domes while eating a light breakfast. Your guide will fill you in on their geological origins and the reasons they are sacred to the Anangu people. Snap photos of the sun coming up over the red sandstone formations from the vantage point of the western dune viewing area. Set off on a guided walk through the Valley of the Winds, stopping at the Karu and Karingana lookouts for panoramic views. Use the time to ask your guide any questions about this ancient and sacred area.
Return to your accommodations by midday, which leaves the afternoon free for other activities.
Get started bright and early to conquer both Kata Tjuta and the Valley of the Winds in just a half day. Eat a light breakfast while watching the sun come up over the domes of Kata Tjuta as your guide explains their geological and spiritual significance. Take a walk through the Valley of the Winds to get panoramic views from central lookout points. Round-trip transport means you don't have to worry about logistics.

Jess and Fiona made this a perfect trip. Early start but breakfast bag of goodies really helped with hot drinks. Longer walk takes a bit if climbing but well worth the effort.

Hi Jimmy. This tour is mostly on tracks which are rough underfoot. Your friend may choose to take the option of only walking to the first lookout, which is uphill on a dirt track, but not steps. The rest of the track is much steeper with lots of steps, and I don't think it would be suitable for someone with knee problems. There are other sunrise tours which might be more suited to your friend. Enjoy your holiday.
