Four days, exploring four iconic locations (Uluru, Kings Canyon, Kata Tjuta and Tjoritja West MacDonnell Ranges) all wrapped up in one tour. This small group adventure encompasses the very best the Red Centre has to offer. There is a very good reason why Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.  In 1987, the international community recognized the park's spectacular geological formations, rare plants, and exceptional natural beauty. A few of the highlights include exploring Ormiston Gorge, Ochre Pits and Ellery Creek Big Hole, hiking through the Valley of the Winds or Walpa Gorge, and exploring Mutitjulu Waterhole, Kuniya Piti, and Kantju Gorge. We provide two different sleeping options at our permanent campsites, with twin share safari tents, or you can try out a traditional swag experience. (canvas-covered bedroll) This tour starts and finishes in Alice Springs only, please advise us of your accommodation at the time of booking.

      Experience of a lifetime
What an experience! Love the small group; beautiful and diverse scenery; challenging hikes with plenty of time to relax; and conscientious, knowledgeable and fun guides. Jim and Silvia were awesome. Passionate about the land and culture; group’s safety paramount; organized and efficient (in a good way); they are both compassionate and supportive with a great sense of humor. Jim and Silvia made an experience of a lifetime truly special. Thank you! Susan, WI/USA

      Amazing tour, 100% recommended!
This tour was literally one of the best tours I’ve ever done! It took place in January 2025 which made me a bit scared on forehand due to the hot weather. However, it could not have been better! Tourguide Adam had so much knowledge (especially about wildlife, nature and Aboriginals) and made sure we kept cool and hydrated during the trip. Besides that: almost no other tourists! The campgrounds were very remote (but good!) and therefore special. The stars we could see at night… my goodness! This tour covered a lot of km which made you experience Australia in the best and most authentic way possible: what a wide, beautiful and majestic country! I saw everything I wanted and more. All in all: perfect and a 100% recommendation!

One Day West MacDonnell Trip - swimming in springs.
Our guide Victor was awesome. Really knowledgeable. The vehicle was comfy, we had snacks loads water. Re the actual places we visited- really awesome trip. Got to swim at Ellery and Ormison which was spectacular. Simpsons gap no swimming but gee amazing also. The info that Victor provided was great. It’s probably best for older kids. We did the desert park and as an Aussie I thought it would be naff, but it was really informative and I enjoyed it. Some travellers didn’t realise they could swim so probably needs to be clearer. I really appreciated the well organised tour, the guide and spectacular scenery. What a beautiful country we have.

Very knowledgeable and were able to answer all the questions that I had. She made us feel welcome and her energy was great! I feel like I was able to connect and understand the culture. Unforgettable tour with Shearna!
This tour was absolutely amazing, even though it only lasted one night – I honestly wished it could have been longer! Shearna was the perfect guide, making the experience so special with her warm and inspiring personality. Her knowledge about plants, the local culture, and the history of the Anangu people was incredible. At Uluru she shared fascinating insights that made the experience unforgettable. She always showed deep respect for the local culture and taught us so much about it, which made the tour even more meaningful. The entire tour was perfectly organized from start to finish, and I always felt safe and well cared for with Shearna. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour, especially if you have the chance to go with her. It was a one-of-a-kind experience that I’d love to do again! - Noëlle xx

Great experience with super nice guide Jim (Gemma)
We had a very nice experience and our tour guide Jim (Gemma) was really great and enthusiastic 😃. She took care of everything and told a lot about the history and fauna👍 We had beautifull walks and our group was also very nice. The only negative remark is that the foam mattresses at the camp grounds need to be replaced because some of them were really bad 😫 So our rating of excellent is for Jim and the walks 👍 Greetings Bianca and Marlie

      AMAZING!!!
Since I was 12 years old I wanted to go to Australia so that I could visit the Red Center. When my husband and I started looking at the possible activities we could do there, we decided we wanted to visit Uluru and Alice Springs. We thought about renting a car to drive from one place to the other, but all the blogs recommended not to do so unless we knew the area pretty well because if something happened to us, it could be a long time before we got any help. Thank God we found this tour! We did the 4 day and it was so worthwhile! Not only because of the landscapes, the hikes and the swims in the waterholes, but also because of the people we met on the tour, and the whole camping vibe. It had been several years since the last time I had slept outdoors, and even though at the beginning I was a little bit scared because of the snakes, it was just a marvelous experience. The swag was very comfortable (even though they were a little bit dirty because they were filled with dirt) and going to sleep while looking at the sky full of stars was magical. Making our food in the campfire was also a great plus! And I was very impressed with the food we had each day! We got different dishes and they were very complete meals! Additionally, the bus was very comfortable, and the tour guide was such a character! I would have liked to receive more information about the different places, but I understand that the Aborigines don't share much of their knowledge and information so it could be that there wasn't much more to give. It is a lot of money, but the tour is very much worth it!

      Fantastic day trip!
What an amazing day. Our tour guide, Shearna, was so knowledgeable and made it a great experience. The lunch was perfect and the swim at Ellery Creek Big Hole was very refreshing! We recommend asking for her as a guide! And Gracie Girl did great!

A unique and once in a lifetime experience
We just got back from this tour and it was a unique experience that we will remember for a very long time. Our guide, Ashley, took fantastic care of us and looked after our well-being. However, guests who book this tour should be aware of a few things: it is not a walk in the park, you need to be physically fit and be able to tolerate heat well. We were there in mid-October, in spring, and it was up to 40 degrees celsius (100 degrees fahrenheit). Getting up early (04:00) is a must in these temperatures and to watch the sunrise. The camps are simply furnished, some with showers that are heated with wood. It is also a very long drive from Alice Springs to the sights. Ash always made plenty of stops for coffee and toilet breaks. He always informed us about the programme in detail and gave us lots of interesting details about the plants, animals and inhabitants. So if you are up for an adventure and enjoy hiking (3 tours between 2-4 hours and some climbs), you will get your money's worth. However, those who prefer to stay in an air-conditioned hotel and swim in the pool should not go on this tour. After all, this is the Australian outback

      A delightful experience
My husband and I did the 3 day/2 night Red Centre experience. Alex was our guide. We had such a great time. Be prepared for early wakeups and to help out with meals and more. There were 21 of us, of varying ages, endurance and eagerness to pitch in. By the last day we were tired, happy and stunned by all we had seen and done. We even made some new friends. We were so impressed with Alex’s ability to do it all. She is an absolute pleasure. She kept us on track, drove the rig, arranged for our meals, ensured our safety, and made sure we understood the important details of the sacred places we visited. We will remember this adventure for many years to come.

      Safari to never forget ☀️
We had a great experience with Utopia! Shearna was an amazing guide and extremely driven! We started hiking early in the morning to avoid the crowds and enjoy the sunrise ☀️. After a day full of wonders of nature we arrived at the camping, cooked together and slept in a tent or swag under the stars (we were the only travellers in the last campings) Thank you Shearna, Jemima and Utopia 🙏! I would highly recommend the tour and exploring the red center through a safari. ⛺

      Fabulous, gorgeous, Fantastic
Shearna was our hardworking energy bunny of a guide. She was filled with fabulous information about the geology, plant and animal life and had a sharp sense of humor!! The group all helped each other out and enjoyed each other’s company!! The second nights camp sight near kings canyon was extra special with our own private campground just for our group, wood fired boiler for hot showers and a lovely sight for sunset! The hikes were progressively more difficult and each day was spectacular!! Highly recommend

Travel from Alice Springs to Uluru to Kata Tjuta to Kings Canyon back to Alice Springs with Sanne
How do I describe this trip? We were picked up by Sanne early in the morning (6am), then drove to pick up others from the airport at Yulara, as well as the township. With everyone onboard, we made a cultural stop at the centre to learn about the area, followed by a breathtaking whistle-stop tour of the majestic Uluru. Getting up close and personal to this magnificent structure makes one realise the innate sacredness of Uluru, and you immediately understand the decision to close down the walk to the top of the rock. To me, it really did seem that it was simply way too sacred to set foot on. Just being in its presence was awe-inspiring! Another really early start saw us at the incomparable Kata Tjuta to view daybreak, then sunrise from the first lookout, followed by a leisurely stroll to the second lookout. For those that wanted to continue the full circuit were given the opportunity, with Sanne giving us credit for knowing which way we wanted to go and supporting our decision to enable that to happen. A stop in Yulara for a hot chocolate was a welcomed break, then it was off to Atila and the Salt Lake on Curtin Springs Station at Petermann for a viewing of both, before driving to Kings Creek Station for the night. Another early start saw us at Kings Canyon for a 6km walk around the rim before returning to Kings Creek Station for lunch. Even though we got drenched, it was spectacular and easily doable. It was probably better than walking in full sunlight! We then drove back to Alice Springs to recover from the action-packed tour. Although this was marketed as a backpackers tour, and we were the oldest, by far, in the group, it was brilliant and easily doable. The group was very cohesive, even with a 51-year disparity in ages. Sanne's knowledge was impressive for a young lady, and she handled herself and everyone else with ease. The days were very long with extremely early starts, but I always figure that there's no time like the present to cross off everything on your bucket list. You could be dead tomorrow, so don't wait! If you are lucky enough to get Sanne as your guide, then you will have the best time ever. Just do it!!! Thank you so much, Sanne. We hope to see you again soon.

My husband and I just completed the 4 day Red Center tour with our guide Rhett who's very knowledgeable about nature and the aboriginal culture. Everything was great from sunrise to sunset, actually even after sunset. The first night Rhett played the guitar and sang for us, the 2nd night he showed us the stars and talked passionately about the universe, the 3rd night we had another very interesting/fun conversation. It was just the 3 of us then as the rest of the group had booked the 3 day tour (but we recommend the 4th day as well to see the MacDonnell Range).
At first I preferred sleeping in a tent but after trying the swag I loved the experience (wasn't cold, no bugs, no snakes, plenty of stars).
The meals were excellent, including the bonus: kangaroo tail cooked the traditional way.
There were a dozen of us on the bus and our luggage were in the trailer with the kitchen boxes. The campsites were very well equipped.
    Highly recommend!

Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you and your husband had such an enriching experience on the 4-day Red Center tour with Rhett. His passion for nature and Aboriginal culture truly shines through, and it sounds like you enjoyed some magical evenings under the stars with his guitar and fascinating conversations. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the swag camping experience as well—there's nothing quite like sleeping under the stars in the outback! It's great to know you appreciated the meals, especially the traditional kangaroo tail, and that the campsites met your expectations. Your recommendation of the 4-day tour and sharing your insights means a lot to us. We hope to welcome you on another adventure in the future!

Took my 9yo daughter up to Alice Springs for the football and booked a 3 day tour of Uluru, Kings Canyon and Kata Tjuṯa. I had done a similar tour around 10 years ago and I spent weeks trying to find a tour that would be suitable to take her on and had a lot of trouble. They either had massive long walks or were 50 seat bus tours. With the help of NT Tourism I found this tour and booked it in.

Wasn’t really sure if it was going to be suitable, but we had the time of our lives. A small 15 seater bus made it small and intimate. We went in the middle of June where the weather was perfect during the day but a little cold at night, nothing a sleeping bag doesn’t fit. Found it a perfect time of the of year to go as walks were enjoyable and not too hot. We only had 8 people on day one, 5 people on day two and three and then down to three of us on days four. Perfect.

Our tour guide Damien was terrific. Extremely knowledgeable and adapted the tour to suit. At various times on the tour we had other guides join and found them seeking information off Damien as well. We had such a good time that on the last day of the 3 day tour we extended to a 4th day through the MacDonnell ranges, somewhere I hadn’t been before. Just magical.

My daughter still talks about the trip weeks later. Huge thanks to Autopia and Damien for a fantastic adventure - could not recommend this enough.

Did the 4 day 3 night tour from uluru to alice springs - could not recommend this tour highly enough, it was a once in a lifetime experience made even more memorable by fantastic tour guides Damien and Zephyr. Damien was extremely knowledgeable and his respect for aboriginal country, history and people was felt throughout the tour and was something that was important to me to feel aware of, learn about to respect appropriately whilst on sacred aboriginal country. Damien ensured all our questions were answered and made our trip really special. Zephyr was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna we saw and could answer all our questions about the outback and also ensured we all had a really memorable and special time. This tour allowed us to see all the main sights in the red centre and we would 100% recommend doing the 4 day tour as the West Macdonell ranges are not to be missed. Could not recommend Autopia any more highly - the small tour size was really valued and we would 100% use Autopia again in the future. Thank you so much for an incredible trip !

Special shout-out to Shearna, whose enthusiasm, energy, organisation and knowledge were greatly appreciated! Federico, who also joined us on tour, had some really interesting additions to Shearna's stories as well. Would 100% recommend booking this tour!

1000% do recommend the 3 or 4 day trip to Uluru/Kata Tjuta. It is such a wonderful experience. Our guide Shearna was very knowledgable on the land, the aboriginals and the flora and fauna. Her enthusiasm, energy and great jokes rubbed off on the entire group. She also managed to connect this group of strangers together. The hike’s are amazing and on some hikes adjustable to your level. Great job, keep up the good work!

This tour well and truly exceeded my expectations. Damien was an excellent guide, with such thorough knowledge and stories, he always went above and beyond.

Accommodation was great, and spotless. The safari tent option was perfect for me with little camping experience. I traveled solo but never felt alone, the group was lovely, and being able to cook together and sit around the campfire was amazing.

100% would recommend, covered all the key locations in the red centre that I would have missed out on if I went alone, Kings Canyon was the highlight and shouldn’t be missed!

    Top Tour, top Tourguides.
We were allowed to undertake this tour with a pleasant group. Our guide Shearna has put a lot of effort into it and always amazed and inspired us with Scharm, her knowledge and competence. You feel her passion every day, in everything she does. She loves her job and this country.
The entire time of this tour was impressive, exciting and very varied.
    Everything was well organized.
Thank you Shearna for these unforgettable four days which are absolutely recommended.
    Greetings from Switzerland.

Thank you Shearna for a once in a lifetime experience in the red center. Our packed 4-day adventure was amazing, the sights and walks breathtaking and we learned so much about the nature and culture of this part of Australia! Nothing phased our guide, she didn't let a little bus problem or a bit of rain get in the way of us hitting all the spots we were meant to see, and we had the best time ever. I high recommend Autopia tour for your red center adventures, the organizations was great and the guides are very very experienced!
