Your trip to Alice Springs ins not complete until you visit these sites
A great way to see the East MacDonnell Ranges sights if you don't have access to a vehicle. The sites visited are not included on other tours which was the reason we chose this tour. We enjoyed all the walks and locations we visited. Mahesh was very knowledgeable and put out an excellent morning tea for us. Very pleased he ran the tour for us as we were the only ones booked in that morning.

        Best Decision and Day ever!
After our original tour was cancelled (or to be precise we were kicked off our tour with a bigger company so they could give our spots to the high paying Ghan passengers) (I know this because we followed them around most of the day) I stumbled across this tour - and so glad I did. From the first email I wrote, to being returned to our accommodation Mahesh was the perfect host. His knowledge of the local area and his humour made for a very enjoyable day. We had a bonus being the only people on this tour on our chosen day. The itinerary was perfect with a couple of extras added. Not once were we rushed and had plenty of time at each stop. Morning tea and Lunch were delicious, and Mahesh even cooked up some Sri Lankan dishes to sample. I can guarantee you won't go hungry or thirsty. My recommendation is go with the smaller tour and Mahesh is your man. You won't be disappointed. We enjoyed his company so much we organised for him to transfer us to the airport the following day. (He even took a quick stop on the way as we wanted a photo in front of the iconic Welcome to Alice Springs sign). Thank you Mahesh our day spent with you was definitely a highlight of our holiday.

        Fabulous tour!
What a great tour! Marshmallow was a fun and knowledgeable guide. The sights were incredible and there was plenty of time to explore at all of our stops. A highlight was the delicious lunch cooked by our guide. Be sure to try the kangaroo. Highly recommend.

Excellent Alice Springs half day tour
An excellent, well balanced tour to see the sights of Alice Springs in an afternoon. Mahesh, our guide, took us to visit the Arts Centre, Flying Doctors and the Telegraph Post. Followed by both Jessie and Emily Gap's, where we stopped for a cuppa and cake! We concluded our tour at the Anzac Memorial, at sunset - perfect! Mahesh was knowledgeable and informative throughout the tour, and with just 9 of us on the tour (I think there is probably enough room for 11 people), it was easy to hear and ask questions along the way - I would definitely recommend this tour as a great way to see, as well as get, an overall view of Alice Springs.

Brilliant half day tour, great scenery and wonderful tour guide
The Alice Town and Country tour was everything we expected and more. We were collected by Mahesh as arranged. We were taken to several museums and historical sights in Alice Springs including RFDS, aviation museum and telegraph station. Along the way, we found Mahesh to be very knowledgable and a pleasure to tour with. In the afternoon, we visited parts of the East MacDonnell ranges and finished at ANZAC Hill for the sunset. The afternoon tea could not be faulted. We highly recommend this tour. Thanks Mahesh

        Great Informative tour
This was a great tour and Marshmallow (Mahesh) was an excellent personable guide. He went out of his way to share information and visit extra tour sites along the way. We would travel with Alice Holiday Tours again.

        So So Tour
We travelled with Mahesh as our guide. We found that he was difficult to understand due to his accent. The bus had a torn up floor when you stepped in so could be a tripping hazard. Even though some members of our party had mobility problems, we felt that he was not 100% considerate with the pace of walking. One member did not wish to walk up a steep path due to health reasons, but he insisted and took them up. We ended up finishing our trip early due to health reasons and he did offer to take us the next day to finish it but we could not. Overall a good way to see Alice Springs but would not go again.

        MARVELLOUS MAHESH
Mahesh is an absolute legend. He helped us out with transfers along the Larapinta and was always on time with a smile, a cup of tea, fruit baskets and the best biscuits. He knows the area so well and he makes you feel like a friend and not just a number. SO much better than one of those big bus tours. I can not recommend Mahesh highly enough.

We stayed Alice Springs for a vacation with several friends. It was an unforgettable and a wonderful tour after a long time with my friends. We had both West MacDonnell ranges half day tour and Alice town and country sunset tours. I would like to say both were very much worth for the money we spent. The tour operator, Mahesh was an interesting, educated and very friendly guy and he always tried to make us happy with cracking jokes and singing with us. But he told so many important matters related to this trips. We learnt a lot from him. The snacks and Ceylon Tea he provided during the tour were awesome.

My favorite during the tour was the sunset from the Alice town. Really fabulous scene it was.

Highly recommended the tour and the tour operator, Mahesh. He is a master tour operator with many skills especially entertaining others.

Thanks a lot to make our stay in Alice Springs memorable.

I will travel again Alice Holiday Tours with my family in next year as well.

Highly appreciate your words. It is not only tour operators, but an essential part of creating successful tours is also "joyful tour participants". I am so lucky to have great people like you. Next time when you come to Alice, we will be at the Airport and waiting to receive you. Have a great day my friend.

This was a fantastic way to have a great birds eye view of Alice Springs when you didn’t have a long time to stay in the town. Mike’s half day tour of west MacDonnell Ranges was a great way to explore these great land marks. Our day commenced with an on time pick up. The mini bus was very clean and our driver Mike was very friendly and welcoming. We were taken to Anzac Hill, then to John Flynn’s grave Historical reserve. Both of these were informative visits. Our third visit was Simpsons gap which was a photographers dream. The landscape was unbelievable. After our easy walk to the gap, we were provided with a nice morning tea. During the drive, Mike’s informative discussions was good. Our last stop was Standley Chasm. This was the icing on the cake of our morning. It was a manageable walk and gave great views of the terrain. Mike did this walk with us and at all 4 activities he was always very happy to take a photo of us. We finished off our morning with time for a visit to the gift shop and coffee shop where we were surprised with a pleasant morning tea.
This activity is well priced, well provided and Mike went above and beyond with trying to make our experience as memorable as possible. He returned us a different way where we were treated to a view of some camels lazily resting under the trees. We would thoroughly recommend this tour as high on your to do list whilst in Alice Springs.

We had the most incredible experience on the West MacDonnell Ranges Half Day Tour with Alice Holiday Tours! My husband, his parents, and I were all blown away by the stunning landscapes, fascinating history, and the warm, personal touch that Mahesh, our guide, brought to the day.

From the moment Mahesh picked us up at our hotel, he made us feel like VIPs. His knowledge of the Red Centre & its history is really impressive, and his passion for the outback is contagious. We loved every stop on the tour, from the panoramic views at Anzac Hill to the serene beauty of Simpsons Gap. Mahesh's storytelling added so much richness to our experience, and he was always there with a smile, offering to take photos, sharing insights, and making sure we were all comfortable, hydrated, & well fed!

The small group size made it feel intimate and personal, and our little tour group gang became the best of mates in only a few hours.

If you're tossing up between tour companies, stop here. I can't recommend Alice Holiday Tours enough. Mahesh truly goes above and beyond to make the day special, and you'll walk away with memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you, Mahesh, for an unforgettable day!

We really enjoyed the sights and chatting with Mahesh on the tour. However, I was hoping to receive more of an unbiased and non-political view of the aboriginal community (Arrunde people), the original landowners of Alice Springs and surrounding ranges. Instead, Mahesh let his conservative viewpoints regarding the Arrunde people show within his answers. If you're looking for a tour to appreciate the land and views, this is your tour. However, if you're looking for a historical lesson on the native owners of the land, I recommend searching elsewhere.

Highly appreciate your comment. We clearly publish this is West McDonnell ranges sightseeing Tour. We never published on Trip Advisor that we carry out the "historical lesson on the native owners". We explain who are the Traditional Custodians of the land. But we never published that we conduct lessons series about aboriginal history. We never published or invited customers to provide historical lessons since this is a sightseeing tour. At the starting point of the tour also clearly explained that anyone interested in learning about the culture and history of Aboriginal people can drop them at the public library when we finish the tour. We take customers to show Anzac Hill, Simpson Gap, John Flynn's Grave Historical Reserve and Standley Chasm. The reviewer explained "Politics". We are not interested to involve in any political discussions. We simply run a sightseeing tour service only. Further, the customer mentioned some sort of land owners “Arrunde people”. As experienced tour operators we come across about Arrernte (/ˈʌrəndə/) people, sometimes referred to as the Aranda, Arunta or Arrarnta, are a group of Aboriginal Australian people who live in the Arrernte lands, at Mparntwe. But we have not come across “Arrunde people”. As we originally explain in the tour, in Central Australia, there are about different aboriginal tribes living. These different tribes include but are not limited to Western Arrernte, Central Arrernte, Eastern Arrernte, and Walpiri. We cannot have historical lessons only one tribe. We discuss only population distribution, but not historical lessons. Yes, I do agree if any customers are in a process of fulfilling the historical lessons and education process of one aboriginal tribe, for that it is not our sightseeing tour ideal. Thanking you

The guide, Mahesh is an awesome guide. He’s welcoming and has intense knowledge about Alice Springs and the community. He offered us plenty of photo shooting spots during the tour which made me very happy as I am an Instagram mad :)) On our way back to the hotel, he showed me how to enjoy the town and some lovely places I could go after the tour and I totally enjoyed the museums and art gallery. I was well looked after by him and am definitely going back to Alice Springs to join his other tours.

What an amazing experience. My Dad, Brother and I booked the half day tour with Mahesh and wow!!!! Talk about incredible. The tour was just amazing with so much to see. Mahesh was definitely the star though, nothing was too much trouble, his knowledge, sense of humour and photography skills were all just incredible. We loved every moment of this trip and very much appreciated all of Mahesh's recommendations for things to do whilst in Alice Springs. If you are looking for not only a tour but an experience with guaranteed laughs and amazing snacks, I would highly recommend Alice Holiday Tours.

What a beautiful part of Australia. Visiting ANZAC hill to view Alice Springs from above is the starting point of this tour after being collected from your accommodation then travelling on to John Flynn’s final resting place. From there it’s on to Simpson Gap where you are allowed a good amount of time to view this stunning area. The guide is knowledgeable of the history of the area as well as the importance of these areas to the Aboriginal people. The morning tea spread was a pleasant addition before travelling to Standley Chasm where a cool breeze blows off the water that hasn’t dried up. Take the time to appreciate the endlessness of this beautiful area.

This tour is highly recommended. Our tour guide Mahesh was very informative, friendly, engaging and made it a fun tour. As a small group tour it provides the opportunity to engage with all the other travellers and we were fortunate to have international tourists also makes the tour more flexible and not on a strict time limit.

I didn't work on that day. Truly it's a paid holiday to me. They get into my bus as "customers". Within a couple of minutes, they become my friends. The group came with me from China, Italians, UK and Aussies. One common character they display is "It's Fun Grup". They voluntarily start singing songs. I am the luckiest tour guide to travel with them. When the agreed time finish, I couldn't leave them, so I extended my services free and shaw additional attractions. Finally, our trip is finished, Memories remain still.

Views were stunning and both Simpson's Gap and Standby Chasm were magical with serene light and so very silent. The walks are not at all difficult.
We saw two rock wallabies as a bonus but you have to look carefully up at the rocks around. Mahesh was a brilliant guide.

Mahesh from Alice Holiday Tours was amazing, not only did my work group rave about the WEST MACDONNELL RANGES Tour, Mahesh also did all transfers for my group with seamless reliability. Thank you, Mahesh, for all your help and knowledge in making this trip a great success and for making my job as organiser (for 15 ) a lot easier. Ps. the restaurant you recommended in Alice was a hit too!
