- R109POhelenb0 contributionsFoodie tour of Sydney's ChinatownThis was a great way to fully experience Sydney's Chinatown and the many tiny restaurants that one might otherwise miss. Our guide, Justin, was very knowledgeable of the history of the Chinese in Australia. Being of 'mature age' and possibly slightly hard of hearing (LOL), I appreciated his very clear and easily heard voice, even with the competing cacophony of Chinese New Year celebrations. I hope to visit Chinatown again soon and use Justin's "Chinatown Bingo card" to explore some of the other delights on offer thereWritten 2 February 2025

- jayjB6027LI0 contributionsA fantastic evening 🥂🍸🍹🍷Six of us (friends) who live in Sydney went on this tour. There were 3 other solo's who fitted in perfectly with the group (all of whom, suprisingly, also lived in Sydney, but came from overseas or interstate originally). It's such a great of meeting people with a common interest 🍹 Daniel (our guide) was fun, knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. He really made our night 🙏 Because I live in Sydney I'd been to a few of the bars and was aware of all except one of the others. It would be nice to do this with some newer bars that need a head start. Also, I don't know if it was because it was early-ish, but many of the bars were fairly quiet. More people and a 'buzz' at the venues would've added to the ambience.Written 29 January 2025

This was a small group which we were glad of. You could hear everything the guide was saying and we could keep up with him easily. We were taken to lots of places and given lots of information both historical and relevant. The best places to see and where the best bars and restaurants were. Our guide was brilliant and loved his job, you could really get a flavour of the city and the history that is not always apparent from tour books. We were sorry we couldn't do more tours with this company, they are well worth the money. Yes, there is a free tour but it had so many people, 30-35 at a guess, that you wouldn't be able to hear the guide and may get lost in an unfamiliar city. I would highly recommend this tour, one of the best tours I took on my trip as a whole. Well organised 👌🏻

We had a wonderfully curated Sydney walking Tour.. our guide Daniel was simply superb in taking us to iconic spots in Sydney in the right historical order along with excellent commentary to go with the places laced with timely humour…
Daniel was very passionate in the history which is very evident from his brilliant story telling. He was also kind enough to recommend dining spots in Sydney downtown.
Dan also was kind enough to share the cookies that was made by him..(nice personal touch)
I highly recommend anyone travelling to Sydney to take up this walking tour from Local Sauce tours

Exploring Sydney through this walking tour was an absolute delight! The tour guide was knowledgeable and passionate about the city's history, sharing captivating stories at every turn. From the iconic Hyde Park Barracks, to hidden laneways, the tour unveiled the city's charm and diversity. The small group size allowed for personalized attention and meaningful interactions. Walking through vibrant neighborhoods, I soaked in the sights, sounds, and flavors of Sydney, immersing myself in its rich culture. The tour's well-paced itinerary ensured we didn't miss any highlights, leaving me with lasting memories and a deeper appreciation for this beautiful city. Truly an unforgettable experience!

Fantastic Tour with Andrew in Sydney
Review:
We had an incredible walking tour with Andrew in Sydney. He was very knowledgeable about the city’s history and culture, providing fascinating insights at every stop. After the tour, he even treated us to drinks, which made the experience even more special. I would absolutely recommend Andrew’s tour to anyone visiting Sydney and wanting to see the history and city on while just walking.

Do not, I repeat DO NOT HESITATE to book your tour with Justin. It can be a task to entertain 13 people but Justin was pleasant, informative, entertaining and fun! He captivated our hearts from hello and introduced us to the peaks and pits of the CBD district that makes Australia unique and keeps the heart of the city alive. We highly recommend Local Sauce Tours when visiting the land "down under."

It was a walking tour that felt less like a chore and more like a friendly stroll with an old mate who just happens to know a hell of a lot about Sydney. Michael, our guide, was a treasure trove of stories, weaving together the city's past with the kind of passion that makes you lean in and listen a little closer. He had a knack for bringing to life the rugged tales of Terra Australis—from the indigenous history to the colonial misadventures that shaped this vibrant metropolis.
As we wound our way through the streets, the pace was just right—not too rushed, but never dragging either. And then, to reward our wanderings, we were guided to the final stop which was at a brewhouse at the end of the tour, cold craft beers in hand. The view? A breathtaking panorama of the Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House, glistening like a postcard you never want to leave behind.
Whether you're flying solo or rolling with a group, this tour is a gateway into Sydney's soul—a brilliant introduction to a city that has a way of wrapping itself around you. Cheers to Michael for guiding us through it all. Highly recommend it.

This walking tour was an incredible way to explore Sydney’s rich heritage! From the very start at Customs House, the tour brought history to life, weaving together stories of Indigenous culture, colonial settlement, and the city's transformation over time. The small-group setting made the experience even more engaging, allowing for questions and deeper discussions.
The tour was well-paced, covering key historical sites while offering fascinating insights into the impact of British settlement on Aboriginal communities. It was eye-opening to learn about Sydney’s evolution through the perspectives of convicts, migrants, and Indigenous peoples.
Ending the tour with a refreshing beer at a scenic brewery was the perfect way to reflect on the journey while enjoying breathtaking views of Sydney’s iconic landmarks. If you're looking for a tour that combines history, culture, and a relaxed social experience, this is an absolute must-do!

My son and I did the Ultimate Sydney Walking Tour on Friday morning, January 3rd. Our guide was called Steve, of Lisdoonvarna stock! Steve was very knowledgeable as well as witty, and very passionate about his home city. It was a nice touch to get all the members of the group to introduce themselves when we met at the Customs House. What followed then was a very interesting few hours as Steve took us to many interesting places and chatted about many of the characters responsible for developing Sydney into the city that it is today. A drink at The Squires Landing at Circular Quay was enjoyed by all at the end.

Thanks for the great review Mike! I'm delighted you and your son enjoyed exploring Sydney with Steve’s "Lisdoonvarna" charm (I had to look that up). We think that a drink at the end is the perfect way to finish any walking tour, glad you liked it. Cheers, Justin

This was one of the best walking tours we have done in any city. Great coverage, good pace and interesting topics. Michael was an excellent tour guide - very caring about loo breaks, coffee stops and mobility concerns. He managed to keep us all interested for the 3 hours with expansive knowledge of the history of Sydney, and had a whole toolkit of recommendations for further experiences, restaurants and itineraries. Definitely worth doing, especially if it's your first time in Sydney!

Thanks Sanya for the lovely review - I've passed it onto Michael. Thrilled to hear we are one of the best walking tours you've ever done. Hope you made the most of all the personalised recommendations! I'd also add that even if you've been to Sydney before or live here, our guides will always be able to show you new things. Cheers, Justin

Very knowledgeable about his city and clearly loves living and working here.
Would recommend without hesitation, three hours flew by but saw loads of great stuff, plenty of photo ops and you get plenty of information.
