Perfect Evening with Friends (new and old)
Wowie! I did not expect so much from one part of Sydney! And Justin was the perfect guide. Myself and two other country girls felt very much at home in the big city with Justin as our guide. Highly recommend the small bar and street art tour to get your bearings on a new city, find some new bars or simply do something different.

Get your steps and enjoy amazing food and art in Newtown
This was a great tour. Robyn really knows her artists. You could wander around Newtown all day and got find the art work she pointed out. Plus she has so much insight and background on the artists, the meaning of the art work, and the history surrounding it. The food was amazing too. I have never had Turkish Ice Cream but I will definitely be seeking it out after this tour. I definitely recommend this tour for anyone wanting to get some steps in and check out the art and food of Newtown.

      Secret bar crawl
From the start, I had a warm welcome from our tour guide Daniel, he had a great energy and enthusiasm throughout the tour. I enjoyed hearing some of the night-life history when going between bars. The bars we went to all had their own unique style and vibe, which was fun. Overall, we all had a great time as a group and I highly recommend the tour!

      A Tour well worth it.
A terrific tour for both Sydney visitors & Sydney siders. The street art was stunning, made even better by Judtin’s great knowledge of both the art & the artists. The bars were fanrastic, unique & staffed by very friendly people who served up terrific drinks (cocktails especially). Highly recommended & planning to take the other tour to chippendale/redfern. Well done Justin.

      Best walking tour in Sydney
This is a fantastic fun and informative tour. Daniel was our tour guide and he was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging with a genuine passion for Sydney history. As a walking tour this is a great mix of historical colonial sites as well as Indigenous history together with interesting anecdotes with a bit of bird watching thrown in (kookaburras in the Botanic gardens). Daniel also shared some bar/restaurant tips and made sure over the 3 hours we had time for coffee and quick visit to the nicest loos in Sydney. Small group of maximum 12 people so you’re not one of a herd. Highly recommended.

      Great night out in Sydney!
We checked out so many hip bars with great cocktails and our guide Daniel did an excellent job to give us the history of the neighborhoods/bars we were in as well as to make sure to break ice for all participants, definitely recommended!

      Great Tour with Great Guide
I Recently Took the Ultimate Sydney Walking Tour with The Owner Justin From Local Sauce Tours and was not disappointed. Justin did an outstanding job on Highlighting the History of the Aborginal people in the Early days of its founding to the City of Sydney that most locals and Tourists are aware of today, while highlighting some of the more off the beaten sights in Sydney. I especially enjoyed the QVB and the Strand Arcades along with some of the more off the Path Hotels and Dives in the Rocks. The Doss House and Fortune of Wars I Highly Recommend. Justin is a great ambassador for Sydney and for those seeking to learn its Culture, Sights and History. For those looking for a Great tour of Sydney’s History, Culture and Architecture, look no further than Justin at Local Sauce Tours.

      Little Italy food tour
The Little Italy Fivedock tour by Local Sauce Tours really opened up to us an experience of top class Italian food & meats. I’ve never tasted a more moist & fresh mortadella & the line up out the door at the deli was testament to the quality we experienced as well as the lovely owners. We will certainly be back to Fivedock to pick up some amazing food…. Looking forward to the next tourLittle Italy tour

      Highly recommend the Thaitown Tour!
What an unforgettable experience! My partner and I have both grown up in Sydney our whole lives and we had no idea that Thaitown even existed - we recommend the Thaitown tour to everyone, locals and tourists alike! The highlight of the tour was definitely the food. We stopped at several hidden gems, each offering a different taste of Thailand. From fragrant curries to delicious street food snacks, every bite was a delight. The flavours were authentic and took us right back to the streets of Bangkok. For $70pp we got to try a TONNE of food - the value is unbeatable. This is a must-do for anyone who loves Thai food or wants to explore a different side of Sydney. We can't wait to try another tour soon!

      Fun learning and walking experience
We had a wonderful experience seeing the highlights of Sydney walking tour and learning about the local history and landmarks. It's hard to imagine a better tour guide than Michael, who was very kind, approachable, knowledgeable, funny, engaging, and group-aware.

An awesome afternoon of key landmarks in Chinatown, tasty food, and stories of the ways in which Chinese-Australians have long been a part of the community. Eddie our guide had such passion and heart for all of it and made sure we had a great afternoon. I really appreciated his depth of knowledge and feel richer for all that I learned and experienced.

We tried a variety of tasty regional dishes and learned about the differences depending on region. I particularly liked the support of independent cafes and restaurants. As a local I now have a road map for trying new places to eat in Chinatown and am more confident to venture off the beaten track.

Whether you are a local or visitor to Sydney, I highly recommend Local Sauce Tours - Chinatown Street Food and Stories. It will be an afternoon well-spent.

Thanks for the fantastic review! I’m glad you enjoyed the tour and Eddie’s passion for Chinatown. We love having locals along on tour because they always get so much more out of it, with lots of recommendations of places to go back to, and hopefully a greater sense of curiosity too - sounds like we achieved that for you! We look forward to hosting you another tour in the future. Cheers, Justin

This turned out to be a real winner. The tour was very informative and historically accurate. We tasted food from shops representing different regions of China. The food was amazing and from shops I would not normally visit as they don't always look appealing on the outside. This tour has given me confidence to support the local shops - some were just a simple family run business but very authentic cuisine.

I had an absolute blast on the "Local Sauce Tour" in Sydney Chinatown! It was a total celebration of local eateries and the fantastic influence of Chinese Australians on the city's food scene. All the signature snacks were so nostogic for me! 😝 Love me some Liaolong bao

But it wasn't just about the grub. Our guide were spilling the beans on the Chinese history and culture in Australia that's as vibrant as Sydney itself! you've got to check out this tour! 🥢🍜🥡 #FoodieHeaven #SydneyEats #SauceSensation

Justin introduced us to some great places and a couple of dishes I’d never have ordered on my own. Plus he pointed out a bunch of street art, some of which I’d previously walked right by without noticing. To top it off Justin also gave us a list of other delicious Chinatown recommendations (restaurants and their signature dish) which I’ve already started ticking off.

We spent some time with Justin from Local Sauce Tours doing his 'Aussie Chinatown - Stories, Snacks & Secrets' tour. Met some lovely peeps too.

We do stuff like this when we travel, but never at home. It's embarrassing how little I knew about a place I've been in and around my entire life!

We'll definitely be back to support the area (which has struggled since the opening of nearby Darling Square, particularly during the pandemic). Justin gave us a bingo card of restaurants and dishes to try next, which is a brilliant idea 🤤

Justin is a fabulous host who has great knowledge of all things China Town. It was a lovely stroll around the alley ways and streets in China Town that I had never realised were there. Fabulous information about the different foods and regions of China he shares personal and historical stories opening your eyes to unknown food, art and people and the history of Chinese Australians. My partner and I really enjoyed our afternoon and the food is delicious.

Had one of our most enjoyable food walking tours with Justin from Local Sauce Tours - Chinatown Street Food and Stories. We tasted some of the most delightful and tasty Chinese cuisine whilst learning about the history of the Chinese community in Australia. The 2-hour tour was the right length and would suit everyone - the route was accessible and easy to navigate for all. We highly recommend this tour for locals and visitors.

Our guide, Justin gave us a well organised tour with an interesting commentary about the food from various regions of China that is available in Sydney’s Chinatown. The food sampling was coupled with information about the history of Chinese settlement in Australia, some background stories about the treatment they were subjected to and the contributions in all sorts of areas made by Australians with Chinese ancestry. The tour was both informative and fun!

Liz was a very informative guide and we learnt an enormous amount about China Town and where to eat. As Sydney Siders we went on the tour to learn about the best places to eat but came away knowing far more. Great choices of food. Possibly could have been better for our vego but all in all a pretty damn good tour. Finished in an hour and a half. Five food tastings.

This was the third tour I have done with Local Source and all have been great, providing unique experiences of Sydney and geared to attendees of all ages. On this visit to Sydney my guide was Lucy who provided a very insightful tour, covering different foods and their origins as well as an overview of the history of Chinese people in Australia. A well paced and interesting tour with excellent food from places I would not have identified if alone in the area.
