- karenkX5575KL00No. 1 Work Christmas party lunchWe had our first ever Work Christmas Cruise. We all paid for it ourselves, seemed a little expensive at the time, but as soon as we stepped foot on board, we knew it was value for money. We had the drinks package, and it was excellent value. The waiters kept asking us if we needed more drinks, and were bringing them to our table very efficiently. I have done 10 other Harbour Cruises at night, but they were nowhere near this standard. I received quotes from other operators, but felt this was the best, and I was right.
- CindyC441700Nice trip but food was mediocre. Crew and service goodTrip was nice. Mediocre food which was more or less expected for tours of this type. Crew was nice and service good. The dessert was the best part
- 437jacquelinew00Super experienceSuper experience of fabulous harbour views with charcuterie selection & glass of wine. We were warmly greeted by Surpriya & shown to our pre allocated table. A very pleasant way to spend a few hours.
- Dream1813685530600Enjoyable eveningA great night seeing Sidney from a different perspective and getting a view of landmarks not otherwise available. Food was delicious as well.
- I6291AGvictorian00Taronga ZooThank you very much, I enjoyed my day at Taronga Zoo, which has a wide range of animals and is excellently curated enabling visitors to learn a lot. My favourite animal sightings were the tigers, elephants, koalas and kangaroos.
- jameswM4879XN00Taronga Zoo Tour & Sydney HarbourThe Taronga Zoo is a great place to explore and see all the animals while in the Sydney area. If you go with children, you could easily spend a full day there. They also have a hotel at the zoo, in case you wanted to do night walks to see the nocturnal animals in their natural habitat. That would be very cool to do also! I would definitely recommend this trip, but depending upon your available time, you may want to take a regular taxi ferry, as they run more frequently than the Captain Cook Cruises.
- suekU6220FS00Easy way to see Australian animals and others right in SydneyTaking the ferry to the zoo makes for a fun day. There are also great views of the city from the zoo itself. Taronga is somewhat spread out, but you can see most of it in about 4 hours. At the moment, they seem to have several exhibits undergoing renovations, so they seem to be continually improving the facilities. KIds would really enjoy doing this while in Sydney!
- 513LouiseC00Sydney Harbour sunset cruiseThe dinner was excellent catered very well for the vegan in our party. All the food was great. Called a sunset cruise but actually we boarded at 5pm so arrived back before sunset having said that the views of the city, Sydney Harbour bridge and the Opera House were spectacular. Well worth doing.
- Allison F00Nice way to see SydneyLovely tour! Short ferry ride to each stop, where you could wander as you wished. Zoo was very nice and we also stopped at Watson’s Bay which was a cute small town.
- R8327OQginag00A Must See for Animal LoversFantastic way to spend an afternoon after taking the ferry over from Circular Quay. The zoo had a wonderful variety of animals from different continents. The zoo was very clean and had adequate bathroom stations and water bottle filling stations as well. We were able to take in the Free Flight bird show. It was fantastic. The show with the seals was also enjoyable. Unbelievable views back toward Sydney Harbour from vistas within the zoo. Nice photo shots. Would suggest some better signage from the lower part of the zoo where are you depart from the ferry to get up to the area of the zoo by the upper main entrance. Existing Signage was a little confusing.
- TravellerLoggy00Disappointed this timeI went whale watching with Captain Cook back in 2016 and had a great time. We rebooked for today which left us very disappointed as we are at the end of our Australia trip and really wanted to see whales close up before we go home. Firstly, the cruise was booked for 1:15, we did not leave the port until after 1:30. Whereas other companies nearby which were also booked for 1:15 left boarded prior to this time and left the port at 1:15. Following a fellow passenger suffering with sea sickness just as we got out to sea, we returned to Watson's Quay to allow them off the boat with several other passengers. I could not hear what was being said over the speaker at any point outside as it was not loud enough, so had to ask staff when we stopped at Watsons Quay what on earth was going on. We were first told that we would be returning to Circular Quay and could enquire with the booking office to explore our options. However I was then advised that we were going back out whale watching following the drop off at Watsons Quay. They did not mention at this point that this would be for about 15 minutes (having lost about an hour of the trip returning the unwell customer back to the quay and then getting back out to sea) and we would still be returning to Circular Quay at the same time as previously planned, I wrongly assumed that we would be allowed a little more time. We did thankfully see a couple of whales, but just their fins surfacing from the water, however we did not have time to hang around in the area and wait for any more to resurface due to the rush to get back to Circular Quay. I would recommend that others book with other companies who offer 3 hour trips as it gives you a bit more time to see the whales, and should anything go wrong, it will hopefully mean you're not rushing back. These companies also seemed to set off from Circular Quay before us, despite having the same booking time. The problems above were clearly not the staff on boards fault, but I just feel as though the situation could have been handled better and communicated better with the remaining customers on board.
- johnrU1679CX00Absolutely amazing!Really good crew, great commentary with plenty of whale facts, crew was happy to chat with passengers too. Would highly recommend
- Tourist5420278141300Expensive and disappointingOverpriced venue with some really rude staff especially the filipino bar manager who walks around like a storm trooper. Meals were little more than snacks , I asked for a med well steak which was a piece of meat about the size of a 50 cent coin and no joke it was charcoaled and bar prices were high as well and for the $140 price per person without any drinks im sure you could find better value for money! Only redeeming factor was the first officer upstairs who was friendly and great to talk to which made the outing a little better
- Peter M00AWESOME day one Harbour cruise to and from the ZooWas great to see a different animals to what we have at our zoo in Aotearoa. Would recommend to all. Sydney visitors. Ferry ride from Circular Quay across the Sydney Harbour to Toranga Zoo and back.
- madhattergreen00Worth it especially your first day hereDefinitely worth it, especially on your first day to the city. Worth the money, and a good initial orientation to the city. Views were fantastic.

Great opportunity to get the ‘money shot’ photo of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge
Mediocre cocktail and one house drink included
Lots of other tours join you - so it’s all a bit confusing on boarding
Reasonable value for money

Would have been nice to get a little history brief as we saw the various sites.

We’ve been waiting in the port as given on the information in KKDAY with 4 departures, 2 ports but little did we know our tour will turn into a nightmare. Their info and the website of the cruise is different. Tickets booked for a month or two in advance and take note you are charge as soon as you booked. The merchant knew it. You called customer service on the same day of the tour but no one answered. You called the following day to request for a refund but all their answer is WAIT. We’ve waited for a month and still the response is NOTHING. Is this the kind of customer service you are giving to the people who booked a tour to enjoy their vacation, or you just want to take our money and ruined our vacation? GUYS THINK MANY TIMES BEFORE MAKING A BOOKING on this company, this is absolutely a scam! Until now, we are still waiting for our refund and these two companies CAPTAIN COOK CRUISE AND KKDAY is just blaming each other and not prioritizing their customer. They even updated the KKDAY product information which is absolutely a proof that they provided us a wrong information but still they DID NOT refund our MONEY.

Apologies for the delay, however this was out of our hands as your complaint was incorrectly sent to our West Australian operation and after which we have replied to KKDay.
The Paperwork/voucher that you have received from an agent clearly states the boarding time and location. Although we have 4 departures, you must select the boarding time and the wharf that you would like to board the vessel from.
But yes, if you did actually speak with one of our Captain Cook Cruises team members at our Circular Quay office, they would have allowed you to board from Circular Quay as this is company policy. Also please advise that our phoneline opening hours are 9am-5pm.
We do take your unfair comments seriously, and must state we are absolutely not a scam, in fact we are in the trusted, premium operator on Sydney Harbour. We have been proudly cruising Sydney Harbour for over 50 years, carrying over 25 million happy passengers.

Good value for money.
Joined a 5pm sunset cruise with cocktail, beer plus meat and cheese platter.
No need to buy dinner on the upper deck when you can spend $75 Aus for this package. Service is good.
Decent round trip of the harbour. 5pm a bit late for an end of April trip (dark by 6) but overall great vfm.

Doing a cruise while in Sydney is a must, and Captain Cook Cruise seems to be a big provider here. We booked ours for the 25th of February 2023.
Positive:
- Big and comfortable boat
- The waiters were extremely nice (the sailors were doing a show off like teenagers but anyway, you don't really talk to them)
- The cheese and meat platter was good for the price
- The cocktails were very well made
- The live music duo made the atmosphere very enjoyable
- Doing the cruise at 7pm is the best of the two timings if you intend to see the sunset or Sydney by night (e.g., the opera house)
Negative:
- When booking, you are asked to come to the counter to get your ticket 30 minutes in advance, however when you come (we were many) nobody was there to welcome us until 15 minutes before the cruise
- The cruise was planned at 7:00pm, but until 7:10 nothing happened, then the "gold dinner" tickets were called for another 5-10 minutes, then we could board. We finally left at around 7:30-35.
- When we left, we made a stop at the harbor next to the opera house to pick up more people, it was around 7:45-50...
- As the sunset was at 7:35-40, we can say that we sort of missed it :)
- We left late but came back late as well, so beware and don't book for a dinner after the cruise. We booked for 9:15pm in a restaurant nearby, but missed the timing for a funny reason (ironic): the boat was coming back straight to the boarding location, it was already 9:15-20 but, 100 meters from the jetty, I think they noticed that they forgot to the another stop at the harbor next to the opera house... so 100 meters from the end, we did a U turn and went to the other drop off location...! Tired of waiting and disappointed of missing our restaurant booking, we decided to leave the boat at the other stop at 9:30 and just eat a fast food there as we re starving.
So yeah, if you are very patient and have nothing else planned afterwards, I totally recommend doing a cruise with them. However if you are not comfortable with my above review, I saw other similar providers there (but I don't know the quality of their service).
