About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- clairevanh20170 contributionsInteresting, informative and funExcellent tour. Interesting, informative and fun, a brilliant insight into the building and workings of the opera house. Darryl was a great guide. Would thoroughly recommend.Written 21 March 2025
- 761neili0 contributionsInteresting tourA great tour of the inside areas of the opera house. Our guide, Peter, was very knowledgeable about the history and construction of the opera house. The choices for the lunch option were limited, but the food and service were good.Written 19 March 2025
- HarrietLHS0 contributionsGreat tour of the Opera House. I thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a lot.I’ve admired the Opera House in Sydney for years and wished I could see it in person. I got my wish earlier this month. My husband and friends and I got to walk right up to it and then tour it. It was magical!! The only thing that could have made it better was if there had been an opera performance that we could have seen, too. The tour took us through most of the performance theaters. They were beautiful! We learned a lot about the Opera House while we were on the tour. It was certainly worth our time and money!! I’ll just have to come back for that opera!Written 19 March 2025
- Barry S0 contributionsSydney Opera House exceptional tour.An excellent and very informative tour. The history of this building is extraordinary and fascinating. Our tour guide was lovely, very experienced and entertaining.Written 19 March 2025
- 1701RandyS0 contributionsIconic Opera House Behind the SceneWe did the Opera House tour with our two kids who are 6 and 8. There is fair bit of walking and steps in the tour, so it wouldn't be the place for a stroller (which they likely don't allow anyway). It was fascinating to see inside such an iconic structure and to also learn the interesting details behind its construction. It was an hour well spent and worth both the time and money. They use a sound system which each visitor carries so you don't have problems hearing your guide. There were productions in progress while we toured which provided another interesting view into the operation of the building.Written 19 March 2025
- 268janise0 contributionsA Must Do!If you are in Sydney this is a must see/do! This tour was well worth the price. The history of the opera house, the architects and architecture, the acoustics and the type of performance is explained in detail and is very interesting. The building itself is a beautiful sight however once you learn the history you are even more impressed. If I find myself in Sydney again, I will do this tour for a second time!Written 19 March 2025
- 86calgary0 contributionsThis tour is a must!I booked an English guided tour online and arrived at the Opera House to be met by our guide Peter. He was a gem and I think everyone on the tour would agree. Informative, knowledgeable, humorous, and lively. He pointed out so many things you would never notice if you weren’t on a tour. The interior is as stunning as the exterior and it’s mind boggling how this building was constructed. The website says the tour involves up and down 200 stairs but it’s so spread out you would never notice. If you admire the iconic Opera House from outside, a guided one hour tour is a must!Written 19 March 2025
- Hirsthead0 contributionsExcellent tourExcellent tour. Very informative and interesting. Great to see into the theatres also. Guide was top quality and pace timing just rightWritten 18 March 2025

- mckjl30 contributionsBook it!!!!You absolutely have to do book this tour! Pre-book if you can since they did sell out at the welcome centre. It takes an hour and is right on time. You wear a headset so you can hear the guide really well. Nicholas was our guide and he was excellent! It was so fascinating learning about the architecture, design, and production.Written 17 March 2025
- KenllyBowne0 contributionsSydney Opera HouseMate, if you’re in Sydney and you haven’t checked out the Sydney Opera House, you’re missing out big time! This place is a true Aussie legend – the architecture is mind-blowing, and the harbour views? Unreal! 🌊✨ We did the guided tour, and it was totally worth it – learned heaps about the history, design, and all the world-class performances that have happened here. Even if you don’t catch a show, just walking around and soaking up the atmosphere is an experience itself. Pro tip: Come around sunset, grab a drink at Opera Bar, and enjoy the stunning views of the Harbour Bridge. Pure magic! 🍹🌅 Would I recommend? Bloody oath, I would! 10/10 must-visit when in Sydney! ✅🔥Written 16 March 2025
- jaymca0 contributionsMobility Access Tour: didn't feel like we missed anything that the regular tour offers(It doesn't look like you can book the regular English tours online, so you might have to risk buying the tour at the door or contact their Customer Support ahead of time.) Reserved the Mobility Access tour for my retired 71-year-old mother, and we were treated with a guide who was also a retired architect who helped work on the actual renovation of the Sydney Opera House. So was treated with many architectural anecdotes (although it wasn't the official Architectural Tour). Our mid-afternoon tour was great, since it was still many hours before any performances, so we generally got to see many parts of the interior, sometimes feeling that we had some of the rooms/venues all to ourselves. Due to the limited mobility of some of our group, our guide naturally was very patient with our pace. But on the flip side, being a small group, we were allowed to spend more time at certain locations to take photos, so everyone was very satisfied and did not feel like we were missing anything major that might appear in the regular tours. Recommend any of the Opera House tours in general, because not as many people can boast that they've seen the inside of the famous building.Written 15 March 2025
- davidpL5811ZV0 contributionsGlad I did itI like these back-story and informative tours, and this was a pretty good one. Our guide had a good schtick and delivery, saw some highlights and details we wouldn't have gotten otherwise. Worthwhile but not mind-blowing.Written 14 March 2025
- wahaejock0 contributionsGREAT.A must do on a visit to the opera hoose. Learn the history of the hoose from the start to present. You get some good views as well from inside as well as outside.Written 14 March 2025
- JanR32450 contributionsHighly Recommend Touring the Sydney Opera HouseThe Sydney Opera House tour was far more fascinating than we expected. The iconic structure has an amazing history! I wish we would have toured this before anything else, because we learned so much about Sydney’s history from our guide, who was excellent! She also managed to get the entire tour group into a formal practice session of the Sydney Symphony. We sat for about 10 minutes in there and it was mesmerizing. Then, she got us into a ballet warm-up session of the Sydney Ballet Company, for about 15 minutes. There are three theaters at the Opera House, in addition to one outdoor stage. There was a fair amount of walking in total, but lots of pausing and resting while listening to the tour guide.Written 13 March 2025

Good tour experience. We were able to join the afternoon tour after we were late for the initially booked morning tour. Quite reasonable price and good information.
