About
Join a knowledgeable local guide on a fun walk through the inner-city areas of Pyrmont, Ultimo and Glebe! Often missed by visitors to Sydney, these older neighbourhoods are bursting with stories and hidden gems that even many locals don't know about. On this walk, you'll learn why there are so many pubs in this part of Sydney, what a "VIP Lounge" is, discover the Aboriginal and early European history of the area and be surprised by our choice for Australia's "national dish". You'll see why this is one of the most multicultural parts of Australia, gain an insight into our sense of humour and find out some Aussie slang along the way. We'll stop for a coffee at a favourite local cafe mid-way through the walk, and at the end, we finish with a glass of delicious local craft beer at one of the most unique pubs you'll find in Sydney - complete with a talking pet cockatoo! We recommend doing this early in your Sydney stay as you'll get lots of tips to make your time in this city amazing.

A really fun way to spend the day! We did the Pyrmont Tour as we have lived in the area for a while and wanted to learn some of the history. It has given me a whole new appreciation for Pyrmont and Sydney and safe to say my friends are sick to death of hearing all of the facts I have about this history-rich area :) We went to places I have never been before despite spending a lot of time here. The tour guide and other people on the tour were so lovely, and we all left with big smiles on our faces. 10/10 tour and way to spend a Saturday morning.

I am a Sydneysider but really enjoyed this tour - everyone can do the typical Sydney tour, but this was different. It was great to meet other people, a small group is ideal to hear the information and have a great conversation. I love learning about new facts of a city and this was the case even for someone who lives here. Get out and see Sydney - the exercise/fresh air is a bonus and the coffee was great. Georgie was certainly a highlight :)

Ah I love reading reviews like this, thanks a bunch Sarah! Always so good to have locals come along and discover how much more there is to Sydney. Was a pleasure to show you around, and excellent that you got to meet Georgie too, she's a show-stealer. Catch you on another tour soon! Cheers, Justin

This was my first time to joint a walking tour, and my experience was really good!
You can hear about many histories and stories which you will never know if you walk by yourself.
Besides, you can ask any question to Justin (the guide), and he will give you a useful answer. During the tour, Justin will take you to his favorite coffee shop and bar for a rest, and they are really amazing.
In conclusion, I really like it, and I would like to recommend you to joint!

P.S.
Map link with recommendations is also really useful!
And Justin is really good at Mandarin, so if you’re Chinese speaker and your English is not that good, you still can have a good experience( I am an example haha)

Justin’s bar crawl is so much fun! It’s like a local friend showing you around the coolest bars while you visit his city! He picked the bars that you would not go by yourselves and he is very friendly and fun to hang out with! Perfect for solo travelers to meet new friends and enjoy local night vibe! Highly recommended!

This tour is more about history and culture. As a foreigner, I really enjoy learning the history and experience the local culture in this way. Justin is enthusiastic, knowledgeable and humorous. He guided the tour in Mandarin and had good interaction with my families who can only speak Mandarin. He patiently answered our questions and also gave us more advice of visiting Sydney.

This was a perfect tour for me as a solo traveler. Justin was an excellent guide. He provided historical and cultural backgrounds for the different neighborhoods we visited that helped me gain an understanding I never would have on my own. He also chose great places for coffee and a drink with good vibes. I loved the tour and would recommend it to anyone spending a few days in Sydney.

This walking tour is fantastic.

It takes you through an amazing variety of stops throughout these inner city suburbs. We learnt about Australia's immigration history by the Darling Harbour, got shown very trendy cafes and pubs and walked through hidden archaic alleyways and past fascinating old buildings that go back to early colonial times. The tour gives a great overview of amazing things to see in these inner city suburbs.

The historical overview of the suburbs was also fantastic and I felt all the questions I had about the history of those suburbs were answered by the guide, including the early commercial activity for the area and how it transformed over the years.

Justin, our tour guide, also gave us PLENTY of tips and hints for great restaurants, dishes and attractions to see in Sydney after the tour. All of which sound top quality and items that you don't normally see on . He really knows what to see and do in the area.

Even as someone that has lived in Sydney for a few years now, on this tour I still discovered parts of Sydney that I never knew existed! The spots Justin takes you to are real hidden gems of the city area, I would highly recommend this walking tour for not only visiting tourists but also anyone living / staying in Sydney.

Thanks Brett, was great to be able to show you around. As you said, I make sure that even people who have lived in Sydney for a few years will discover new things and places on this walk. Glad you learnt so much, and take advantage of all those extra restaurant tips I gave you! Cheers, Justin
