Itinerary
- 30 Pitt St, Sydney NSW 2000, AustraliaThe meeting point is out in front of the Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel, 30 Pitt Street, Sydney. It is a 2 minute walk from Circular Quay light rail stop, train station, bus stops and ferry wharves and a 5 to 20 minute walk from most central Sydney hotels.
- 1The experience begins when a friendly guide greets you at the meeting point. You'll be part of a small group of no more than 11 travellers aboard a comfortable minibus that takes you south out of the city along the beaches of Botany Bay and through the Royal National Park. First stop is Bald Hill Lookout, a popular launch site for hang gliders and para gliders, which affords sweeping views of the Illawarra coastline and the famous Sea Cliff Bridge. After the break it's just a few minutes drive to the family-run Symbio Wildlife Park which is active in koala conservation. Here you'll find out everything you ever wanted to know about these fascinating marsupials during a private koala experience with a keeper. Snap the ultimate selfie - just you and a koala. You’ll also be able to hand-feed kangaroos and wallabies and get up close to other native Australian wildlife. Next you'll meander along the Grand Pacific Drive traversing the Sea Cliff Bridge as it sweeps out over the ocean, well clear of the crumbling cliffs to which the old highway clung. You’ll continue to follow the scenic coastline to a golden beach where you’ll enjoy lunch in a café popular with locals with views out over the ocean. Bring your swimmers for a dip if the sun is out! In the afternoon you’ll head up through temperate rainforest into the Southern Highlands. An easy hike leads to viewpoints that take in the spectacular sandstone gorges and towering waterfalls of the Morton National Park. Finally, you’ll drive along country roads to a boutique winery to sample locally-produced, cool climate wine before returning to Sydney. Arrival back at Circular Quay is around 6:30pm.

- ExplorerAZ0 contributionsFun Day Out of SydneyWe had a great day out of Sydney exploring the wildlife, waterfalls and wine. The highlight of our tour was our guide Rowan and his vast knowledge of the area and history. Our favorite parts of the tour were the interactions with Koalas and kangaroos and the spectacular waterfall hike. The wine/vineyard was great; if time permitted, it would have been awesome to enjoy a glass/share a bottle of our favorite wine from the tasting and take in more of the vineyard grounds and scenery. Highly recommend this private tour!Written 24 June 2024
- 117oho0 contributions100% would recommend regardless of time in SydneyMy favorite tour i’ve been on! I never felt rushed at any of the locations and they had a great variety on what to do. Food was amazing and we did not have to sit through any crowds! 100% would recommend. You really do get close with the animals!Written 7 January 2024
- minabobina40 contributionsOne fantastic day!Couldn't recommend more! We travelled with a big family group, many of them had never been to Australia before. Luckily, the tour is tailored for first-time visitors and covered many bases (informationally, culturally, and explorational). The private zoo experience was next level and it turned even our biggest curmudgeon into a ray of sunshine. From just one day, our photo gallery is unparalleled and our friends couldn't believe this was a single day of content. Steve was exceptionally knowledgeable, eloquent, and warm. Already we have recommended several friends to this experience so book quickly!Written 3 January 2024

The whole trip is perfect - the host, vehicle, distance and location, the winery and the restaurant. The wine tasting is a joy, and a learning experience made so enjoyable and fun. The restaurant garden, dining room and food (plus service) is exceptional - truly a gastronomic delight. Always great company too. To indulge yourself at excellent value overall - the tour is a must.Written 20 November 2021

Steve was a great leader, friendly, personable and with a lot of knowledge on the local area. Punctual and well timed tour but we never felt rushed. - O2807WClindad0 contributionsFabulous day out!Fabulous day out! Steve was so professional and lovely from our very 1st contact. We had booked a private group tour and everything went according to plan. Steve was most personable and had great knowledge of the area. One of my friends has limited mobility and was not sure if she was going to be able to get on and off the bus but Steve arrived early to assist her in testing this out and thankfully it wasn’t an issue for her. Touring the lovely vineyards of the Southern Highlands in Steve’s van was a luxury and just made for a glorious day out. I would highly recommend Steve and his Sip n Savour tour.Written 23 June 2021
- Muzz1010 contributionsSip N Savour NSW Southern Highlands Wine TourI booked the Sip N Savour Premium Wine Bus Tour day trip for myself, my wife and 7 friends. As a private tour we were all picked up on-time by our driver Steve in a new Mercedes Van at a pre-agreed location near our homes. Steve was a fantastic driver and host for the day. He was very knowledgeable, witty, always relaxed but also very organised to ensure that we visited each of the planned 3 wineries and pub lunch in the Southern Highlands. The booking process was also really simple with each couple being able to book and pay separately which ensured that nobody owed anyone else money for the trip. The automated reminder alerts also made sure that everyone knew the date and pickup time for the tour! This really is an incredible value experience especially with the NSW Discovery voucher matching offer, lunch, a drink with lunch and a bottle of wine per person (valued at $50 per person)! The van ride was really smooth and the van itself was spotlessly clean. Steve encouraged lots of laughter during the trip and everyone had a really enjoyable time. This is a highly recommended tour for any Sydneysider who wants to discover some amazing wineries hidden right on Sydney's doorstep!Written 19 June 2021

Steve made today a truly special day!
Pickup was on time and the vehicle was very easy on and off and comfortable.
He kept up a running commentary most of the day, sharing his knowledge of the history and culture of Australia and particularly of Sydney.
We visited Symbio Wildlife Park which we found to be better than Healesville and Featherdale. We got to pet Koalas and hand-feed Kangaroos.
We drove along the Grand Pacific Drive and over the Sea Cliff Bridge. We stopped at several beach overlooks at one of which we watched paragliding.
We took a short, mildly strenuous walk to a Fitzroy waterfall in the Southern Highlands
We had lunch at the Bulli cafe and lastly stopped for a wine tasting at a small vineyard where they served a sparkling red that was served cold- unusual.
As we headed back to Sydney he pulled over into a small layby where he had previously discovered some kangaroos in the fields
This tour is to an area rarely seen by tourists is well worth the money

This tour was excellent. Book immediately, you will not be sorry!! Rohan was an incredible guide; spoke so knowledgeably about Sydney, the history of Australia, and the Australian government today. We had an amazing time at the Symbio wildlife reserve, petting koalas and feeding and petting the kangaroos. Lunch was great at a local cafe overlooking the beach where we were able to swim in the ocean. We also stopped at a winery and had a wine tasting with snacks as well before heading home. Multiple stops along the way led us to beautiful lookouts. The only downside was some rain when we hiked to the waterfall, but view was still spectacular. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to get out of Sydney for the day, see some beautiful sites, and learn more about the country’s history. 10000% would do again!

We took our friends from Japan out to see koalas and on the south coast last month.
Wonderful day trip from to Sydney to the coast tour the south coast city of Wollongong was very professional. The coastal views of the Wollongong coast from Bald Hill in the northern suburbs of Wollongong was spectacular. Wollongong and its coastline is stunning the views of the pacific ocean breathtaking going to Symbio koala Park in Helensburgh Wollongong was the highlight of the day up close up with the koala was a highlight for our Japanese friends
Highly recommend this Sydney to Wollongong coast day trip to the organisers its not the Illawarra coast but the Wollongong coast. As the whole area is the Wollongong LGA. The city of wollongong extends from Helensburgh Darkes forest in the northern suburbs of Wollongong to windang in the southern suburbs of Wollongong this whole area is the greater city of wollongong nsw Australia. So Helensburgh Stanwell tops Bald Hill and so on are suburbs of the Greater city of wollongong . The coastline is known as the Wollongong coast not Illawarra coast as its all in the Wollongong local govt area and makes up the Greater city of wollongong nsw. Apart from not knowing your local geography of the area it was a fantastic day out taking our friends from Japan

What an awesome tour and experience for my wife and I. This was our first time visiting Australia from Hawaii and we were only here for a few days so wanted to go on a tour that would all us to experience different things that Sydney had to offer…this tour did not disappoint!
Steve was an awesome tour guide and provided us with a vast amount of information and explanation to everything as he drove us around and took us walking throughout the day. He took the time to connect with and include all 9 people that were in our tour.
The highlights of the tour included stopping at Symbio wildlife park before it opened to get up close with Koalas in their exhibits where we got to learn about them, pet them, and take as many pictures with them as we wanted. We also got to feed and pet kangaroos and wallabies and explore the rest of the wildlife park for about an hour.
The koala interaction alone was worth the price of the tour, but include lunch at a beachside restaurant, a visit to Fitzroy falls to see a waterfall and natural landscape and take a bushwalk, and end the day at a winery for a wine tasting (and I’m not even a wine drinker) made this tour even more worth it.
For anyone visiting Sydney that wants to get out of the city to experience what South Sydney has to offer and get an up close encounter with Koalas and other Australian wildlife, this tour is definitely worth it.

Hi Jason,
Thank you so much for your wonderful review!
We’re thrilled that you and your wife had an awesome experience with us on your first visit to Australia. It’s always an honour to be part of someone’s limited time in Sydney, and we’re glad our tour exceeded your expectations.
Steve will be so happy to hear that his insights and personalized approach made your day even more special. We’re delighted that you enjoyed all the highlights, from the early morning koala interaction at Symbio Wildlife Park to feeding kangaroos, exploring the natural beauty of Fitzroy Falls, and even unwinding at the winery (even if you’re not typically a wine drinker!).
It’s great to know that you found the tour to be well worth it and that it allowed you to experience some of Sydney's unique offerings. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to see you again if you ever return to Australia.
Lastly, thanks for sharing your fantastic photos of the day!

“The Other Steve” was fantastic! Friendly, knowledgeable, and very funny. Spending the day with him taught us so much and it was a great way to get out of the city and see all of the beauty of Australia. Our time with the animals was so amazing. Being up close and personal with the koalas and kangaroos and then getting to explore the rest of the wildlife park was a great addition to the tour and something we won’t soon forget. The views along the way were spectacular, lunch was great (highly recommend the vanilla milkshake at the cafe), and the winery was warm and welcoming! Would definitely recommend taking a day on your first visit to Sydney to do this!

Oh, Lindsay, what a wonderful review!
I'm so happy to hear what were the highlights of your day, and equally so that you took the time to share them with other travellers.
Thank you so much for recommending the tour.
I won't even try to be funny because "The Other Steve" is undoubtedly the funnier of the two.
I hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in Sydney.

This tour was outstanding! Our guide (The “Other” Steve) was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, courteous and funny (and an F1 fan, to boot).
The entire day was enchanting…the private koala experience where you could take as many close-up photos as you wanted, the adorable free range kangaroos that you could feed, pet and photograph, exploring the rest of the lovely Symbio Wildlife Park, heading out to the coast for some spectacular views (including the Sea Cliff bridge), the delicious lunch in Bulli, taking the easy walk to Fitzroy Falls, visiting Centennial Vineyards in the beautiful Highlands and, finally, thanks to Steve’s eagle eye, getting to see a large “mob” of kangaroos at dusk in their natural habitat.
This is one of the best tours I have ever booked and I felt that the price was very reasonable. I will recommend it to everyone who is fortunate enough to visit this extraordinary place.

The day before we had been on an excellent tour of the Blue Mountains, and I feared that we had made a mistake and now would be repeating the previous day's experiences. No! This trip just enhanced the one to the Blue Mountains, now seeing another aspect of the nature outside of Sydney. Tony was an excellent guide as we walked through a national park to Fitzroy Waterfalls. A highlight was when Tony signaled us to be quiet as he had spotted a lyrebird in the woods. At Symbol Wildlife Park we were able to feed kangaroos and emu and get close enough to pet koalas. This memorable day concluded with a stop at a lovely vineyard where we sampled local wines.

Paula we couldn't agree with you more that the Wildlife, Waterfalls, Wine tour absolutely shows another aspect of Australia compared to a Blue Mountains Tour. We are so grateful that you joined us and got to experience so much more of the Australian culture and outdoors. How exciting that you got lucky to see the Lyrebird on your day out & have made many great memories.
Thanks again

We had a fabulous tour with Steve. It's clear that he has put a great deal of effort into designing a tour with a variety of excellent stops as well as beautiful scenery along the way. He provided interesting and engaging commentary during the drive, and demonstrated a wealth of knowledge about the area and its history. The stops were all wonderful. We got to enjoy petting koalas, feeding kangaroos, and seeing other wildlife like dingos. We also went on a scenic walk through the woods with dramatic views of waterfalls, and enjoyed a tasting of very good local wines. The lunch that was included was delicious. We also enjoyed the company of the other guests on the tour.

This tour had a little of everything, the wildlife park was amazing being that close to the koalas and kangaroos, touching them and feeding them was a bucket list item. Even though it was a rainy day and fog made it a little difficult to see the falls it was a nice hike into the park on a clear day it would have been beautiful. Wine and cheese to end the day at a beautiful winery was perfect. Our stop for lunch was also very good with a beautiful ocean view.
Our tour guide Steve was excellent, full of interesting facts, he made sure we had everything we needed and we never felt rushed. I will say there is a lot of driving, you spend a lot of time in the van, but seeing the countryside is very pretty and getting out of the city was really very nice.

I could not have found a better day trip! Steve was the consummate tour guide and knew the answers to everything we could possibly ask! This was such an amazing way to see the area around Sydney that I never would have been able to on my own. The minibus was comfy and had USB ports for charging! Very helpful when you run down your phone taking pics from all the amazing stops. The beachside lunch was charming with time for a little dip in the ocean. The highlight for me was the wildlife stop which is first up on the agenda. Don’t forget your sunscreen! But you might be distracted by all the adorable and unique animals to see. And feed! And pet! The winery stop in the afternoon was a delightful way to cap off the day and sample some amazing local wine. Thank you, Steve. You made my whole trip!

We are so grateful that we could be your guide in Sydney, to take you to the places you couldn't have got to on your own & that Steve made your trip!
Thanks so much for joining us for the Wildlife, Waterfalls & Wine experience.
Kind Regards

It appears you don’t have any availability for 4 adults on Oct 5, 6 or the 7th. Do you have a cancellation list? We are only in Sydney these dates.
Let me know ASAP. Thank you.

I note the tour is unavailable on April 13 and 14. Can we get on a wait list for either day in case there are cancellations?

Hi Curious583635, The tour operates Mon-Fri. April 13 and 14 is a Sat and Sun so there is no tour on those days.

Hi Aisa,
The minimum age is 12 years. However the tour is really designed for adults.
Apologies for the late reply. I didn't receive a notification and only just saw your message.
Cheers, Steve

Hi, does this only let you book as far out as the upcoming month? We are wanting a date in March on 2019 and it says it’s unavailable. I tested and it appears it’s like this starting in October of this year. Please advise. Is there a number I can call to reserve over the phone? Thank you.
