Explore Sydney’s western suburbs with a guide who takes you to destinations beloved by these communities. Choose from Harris Park, Merrylands, Fairfield and Cabramatta tours, to experience tastes of the world with your guide’s tips and pointers. All tastings included for added value, and because it’s a small group tour, you’ll get plenty of personal attention.

What to Expect
On this Tastes of the World Tour your will explore food and culture from variety of different countries represented by the communities and businesses in the area.

In the Cabramatta Tour you will start at Vinada's Hot Bread Shop (then make you way through Vietnamese and other Asian Food, be introduced to the sights, sounds, scents and shopping that are part of a bustling authentic Vietnamese market town experience in Sydney's own Asian capital, Cabramatta! For the Cabramatta Tour your Meeting point is : Vinata Hot Bread at Shop 13-14, Cabramatta Plaza,1 Hughes Street, Cabramatta NSW 2166.

In the Fairfield Tour you will meet at Al Anwar Sweets to start your Fairfield Tour on a sweet note. From there your friendly local hosts will share their stories and favourite foods as you continue through the Middle East, Laos and South America.  It’s a culinary journey around the world, with something for everyone and we just can’t wait to share it with you! Meeting Point is Al Anwar Sweets, 14 Smart Street Fairfield.

In the Harris Park Tour you will start at ChattKazz to try some Indian street food, be introduced to Indian food from North and South of India including Dosa, Idli, Curries and Burfi. Aromatic spices abound on this dynamic Indian adventure through the energetic village of Harris Park.You will be greeted by tingling flavours, bright colours and rhythmic music. Enjoy a tasting journey around the diverse Indian subcontinent.  You will be treated to a feast of Indian street food treats. The Meeting Point is: ChatKazz, 4/14-20 Station St Harris Park.

In the Merrylands Tour you will start at Asal Sweets and explore the tastes and cultures of Afghanistan and Persia. Enjoy dishes lovingly prepared, and shared with you by the newest Australians. Traditional recipes have come on long journeys from homes in Afghanistan and Persia (Iran), brought to keep homelands alive in hearts and bellies. These dishes are generously shared with you. You will enjoy a feast which includes delicate sweets and spiced ice cream, spiced teas, dishes that are as Dizi as their name and as marvelous as Mantu can be.  You will discover the flavours created by the addition of dried limes and Saffron, and enjoy some of the best rice and bread to be had. Meeting Point for Merrylands is Shop 4 Memorial Avenue Merrylands.

Each of these tours is available approximately once every four weeks.

Great food, great tour, ate heaps

I did the shorter (2 1/2 hour) Taste the World tour in Liverpool with my parents. Do not plan on having dinner after one of these tours - we ate heaps of delicious food along the way and even got the rundown on the other...More

Persian/Afghani stimulating taste discoveries
