- leekU6182EX00Amazing Day trip around Sydney and the Blue MountainsThis was a amazing day trip. Starting with being picked up at the cruise terminal by Scott. After showing us around Sydney we were off to the Featherdale Wildlife Park. It is a must see for the different animals. It was an unexpected treat to have food for the Kangaroos and having our picture taken with a koala. Then off to the Blue Mountains. We were amazed of all that was included in the tour including food to feed the animals, pictures with a Koala, lunch and all the entrance fees in the Blue Mountains. Scott even took amazing photos and videos of the trip. Overall the trip was exceptional and we highly recommend it.
- skanary00Perfect Day in the Blue MountainsWhat a fantastic tour of the Blue Mountains! The trip started off with a pickup at the doorstep of our hotel in a spacious comfortable SUV. We got a brief tour around Sydney with stops for pictures and some history. Next we spent some time Featherdale Animal Park feeding Kangaroos and seeing some great animals. Next, we stopped at some ridge points that gave us perfect views of the Blue Mountains and great photos. After a quick lunch we were off to Scenic World to ride gondola cars and take in panoramic shots. This tour is a MUST DO in Sydney, as Scott was the ultimate host/guide.
- X3618WVannc00Loved the Blue Mountains!Wow - what a day! Incredible wildlife experiences, beautiful nature and a wonderful tour guide (Scott) sensitive to our interests!
- HappilyRetired800Korhan made our tour very specialWe had a great time with Korhan. He was so accommodating and fun to travel with. His knowledge of our tour area made the trip special. I would highly recommend Korhan for a memorable tour.
- jameshQ9160PQ00Outstanding Private TourScott was an excellent tour guide. A native Sydney sider, he knows where all of the best vantage points are around the city for photos of the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. He is also a compelling story teller and provided us with many stories about life in Sydney. The drive up to the Blue Mountains was interesting and the stop at the Featherdale Animal park was a lot of fun and included feeding the animals. His vehicle was very comfortable and roomy. The day was most enjoyable and all of our expectations were exceeded. We highly recommend Scott and Sydney Private Tours.
- Ken C00Private Sydney Half Day TourBefore reviewing the tour, we must address the excellent communication we received in planning our Sydney tours with Julia and Scott. The knowledge they shared with us was always timely and incredibly valuable in helping us determine how we wanted to spend our limited time in Sydney. Their flexibility in constructing a customized and personalized experience for us was greatly appreciated. On to the tour! Scott arrived on time and eager to start the day. We started our day with some city sightseeing and landed at our first stop near Mrs. Macquarie's Chair. The views back to the Opera House and Bridge are unbelievable. We were fortunate to have great weather and clear skies for the tour, which helped our inferior photo-taking capabilities. We then moved on to check out Bondi Beach, but on the way, Scott showed us some fantastic places with wonderful backstories, i.e., Harry's Cafe De Wheels. We also worked our way through some of the awesome neighborhoods of Sydney before landing at Bronte Beach for a brief leisurely coastline walk. From there, we went to our final morning stop, Bondi Beach, soaking in the incredible views. We booked a Sydney Opera House tour that afternoon, so Scott dropped us off near the facility. Julia provided us with several dining recommendations for lunch (all of which were GREAT). We can not stress enough what a wonderful tour this is for anyone seeking to get some city highlights or a specific set of places they want to see. We are confident you will receive superb communication/attention and have a remarkable experience.
- Konstantinl L00fantastic tour at December 2019 just - a lastr one before COVIDAn excellent tour guiede. All our expectatioms were overwhelmwed despite weatrhe conditions. All went with not a single hitch.
- mark m00The best tour guideIf you are in Sydney and want a private tour look no further. Scott was amazing he listened to what we wanted and managed to fulfil our needs. No queuing and moving quickly but seeing all the sights and recommended to places we would never of known He is extremely knowledgeable about Sydney and he is one of the best tour guides we have used. Call Scott he is amazing
- bigguy201400Somewhat pricey but well worth it!Small tour company run by experienced couple. From original conversations to our final tour, they took the time to understand what we wanted and requested our input as tour agenda were first proposed and as they evolved. Spent 2 full days with Scott who is exceptional. Made us feel like we were visiting family. Clever little extras abound.
- TVDad00Professional and FriendlyI booked two tours with Sydney Private Day Tours that we had to cancel because of the coronavirus scare. Julia and Scott were understanding and responsible. They issued an immediate refund. They were with us for months while we planned our customized day trips. And when the trip fell apart, they were still with us. You can trust this company to be professional and friendly.
- jenniferbU9599VT00Best of Sydney if Short on Time! Our private half-day tour with Sydney Private Day Tours is something you need to do if you are short on time! We had just come back from our cruise to NZ and only had a half-day to see some of city's most famous (and not so famous) highlights. Our guide Scott, was very professional, accommodating, informative and an all around nice guy! He tailored our experience to the things that were important to us, and also shared some sites that only locals would know. It was the perfect end to our trip. I would highly recommend Scott and Sydney Private Day Tours to anyone!
- Z6577NJmargarets00Blue Mountains Private TourWe were picked up promptly at 7:30am in a spacious and comfortable vehicle by our guide Scott. This enabled us to get to Featherdale Wildlife park early and really enjoy the Australian animals on display at their best. Scott took some excellent photos and footage of this experience which we enjoyed far more than we anticipated. Our tour carried on to the Blue Mountains but unfortunately the weather deteriorated so that we could not take in Scenic World. Nevertheless we had an enjoyable lunch and drive in this beautiful area with our guide being very knowlegeable on where to go. By way of compensation for the mist covered views we returned early to Sydney and he took us around the city pointing out areas of interest which we would not have visited otherwise. He was a most entertaining guide who made an enjoyable and successful day for us. We also appreciated receiving emails ahead of our departure from the UK updating us on the impact of the bush fires and alleviating any concerns we might otherwise have had about proceeding with the tour. A very thoughtful and helpful company to do business with.
- TomE43700Fantastic Time With JuliaWe spent a fantastic afternoon with Julia. We did a half day tour of Sydney and enjoyed every minute. Julia was born in Sydney and traces her ancestors back to the early days of Sydney’s prison colonies. As such she has wonderful stories about the history of Sydney. She took us all around the city and some of the major beaches. I feel like we have a new friend now in Sydney and would definitely recommend her and her company to anyone looking for a very personal and professional private tour.
- Chris_Stid-900Sydney half day private tour was amazing! If you would like to learn about the history as well as see the beautiful city of Sydney this is the perfect tour! Julia picked us up from our hotel and treated us like family as she introduced us to her home town. We had a tour the previous day with a group and Julia was happy to organize our time together based on the small amount of the city we had already seen. I wish we would have scheduled a full tour with her. We hope to return to Australia soon and will definitely contact this company for another private tour!
- Robert W00Blue mountains Private tour/ with weather Caveats!Let me start this review by saying that weather affected what we could see and do, but in that light we still had an amazing 5-star trip thanks to Scott and Sydney private day tours. First Scott was right on time to pick us up at the Sydney Harbor Marriott. He had a large Toyota SUV and with 4 of us traveling it was full. His mini van had a mechanical issue so we had to sit 3 in the back seat of the SUV. For a 4 people tour I would recommend a 3 row seating setup like you find in mini-vans. We coped fine, but it was tight. Our first stop was at Featherdale Wildlife park. We got there early and beat the buses which allowed us to feed and interact with animals not dulled by a day filled with tourists. This place was amazing and was really focused on NATIVE animals. we got to handle Koalas, pet Wombats and fed Wallabies and Kangaroos. The bird life present was amazing. Scott also took pictures and has already dropped them to us! We spent a good 2-3 hours there and were really amazed at the diversity. Scott provided snacks and drinks. From there we proceeded to lookouts at 2 different Blue Mountain locale's , but were disappointed with extremely foggy conditions. Scott chose to take us to lunch at a traditional Aussie restaurant off the beaten path. This was included in the tour(Though not indicated so on the Trip Advisor ticket). That food was very good and was enjoyable. After lunch we tried again with the Blue Mountains, but fog was too heavy. On the fly Scott decided to save our day by giving us the most amazing tour of Sydney. We had done the "hop on hop off tour" and found out how limited it was after Scott took us around. He took us to the Naval Base and the "original Meat Pie " Restaurant there. We went to Mrs. McQuarsey's chair and park, 3 locations along the Harbor with the most amazing views of Sydney and gave us a complete history and description of the Harbor area. All this is why we give this trip a 5 star rating. Scott made the tour and we are 90% sure that we will take individual tours going forward despite their expense. Considering the high cost we do think there needs to be a note about weather issues and how that would impact the tour. The trip advisor page says that the following is included: "Entry Fees to the world Cable Car and scenic railway". Due to weather we could not do this, though we went by the location. All fees related to the Blue mountains were included but due to the fog we could not do any of these. I'm not sure that there were fees for all attractions, like admission to the national parks, but due to fog we just lost out on this part of the tour and we understand that. The trip advisor ticket includes fees to an Aboriginal Cultural Show and performance. That company had gone out of business and should not have been included as a feature. Scott took us to an old Aussie pub and bought us beers and wine at the end which was not mentioned in the inclusions. We recognize that weather can screw a tour and fortunately weather in Sydney was quite different than in the Mountains. Scott MADE this tour a great one despite those conditions. The value of what we paid for this day was not great because of weather, but Scott managed to save this day and make the money we spent worth it.Scott also communicated with us before the tour keeping us apprised of the fire situations.

Scott was fantastic! From the time he picked us up to the time he dropped us off, he was professional, accommodating, and eager to share his love of Sydney with us. He’s a an attentive driver; we always felt safe in his car and with him driving. He took great care to take us to fantastic scenic spots to see different views and perspectives, including the harbor bridge, opera house, skyline, beaches, navy base, historic buildings, and more. We had a delicious lunch at Bondi Beach and enjoyed a courtesy drink at 1 of 4 “oldest” pubs in Sydney. Scott shared so much history, culture, stories, and experiences with us during our day. Thank you for sharing Sydney with us.

Scott was an absolutely fantastic host for this trip. For a 32C spring day we certainly had summer sun and the water provided certainly came in handy. Everything ran extremely smoothly and the contact made the night before about possible changes due to city closures was appreciated. This is a very large city and this tour was a great way to get oriented, especially, if like me, it's your first time in the area. I learned a lot from Scott - from the history of the area to fun little tid bits about certain buildings he is clearly very knowledgeable. I didn't have any particular sites I wanted to see more than others but the option to customise the day was always there. I can be a bit weary of doing solo private tours but Scott was fun and personable which really made the day go by quickly. The SUV was clean and comfortable and I felt right at home hopping in and out all day. Truly a pleasure!

It was definitely a very warm Spring day for the tour and Sydney certainly turned on perfect weather for the day! We do a lot of Private Tours for Solo Travellers which can be a fabulous way to get to see so much more of the city and beautiful surrounding sights, beaches, bays and city attractions. It was a pleasure to meet you and host you during your stay in Sydney. Wishing you all the best with your travels around Australia!

Scott was great. Very knowledgeable of Sydney and we went to places you will not find in large bus tours. He was accommodating to our request and made sure we were all (three couples with different interest) happy with the tour. He took great pictures that he sent to us and ended with a great drink at Sydney’s oldest tavern. He was on time and we never felt rushed and was flexible to make sure we saw the items on our most see list. If you are doing this tour you should request Scott!

This being my dream vacation I wanted to see and experience more than just what I could find online. So booking a private tour was a good idea right? With SPDT and Julia I can say ABSOLUTELY YES!
Julia arrived on time at our hotel in an impeccably clean suv that was spacious and comfortable. We immediately requested coffee and she graciously accommodated our caffeine needs. 🙂
We then proceeded on the drive/walk tour of basically everywhere such as Kings Crossing, North and South Points, Bondi and Manly Beach's and much more from local private spots to other tourist spots. We didn't go to the Opera House on OUR request because the night before we already had done a tour/dinner/Opera (Carmen).
Julia was both knowledgeable of the history and roads (seemingly knowing all small side roads regardless of area. Impressive in such a large metro area) and culture and social places of the greater Sydney area.
Besides the awesome tour Julia was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with and we had such fun listening and sharing life stories as we spent the day taking in the city.
I know people value reviews and some times the glowing ones come off artificial, all I can say is this is my bucket list vacation and I could not have asked for a better private tour.
Thank you so much personally Julia for the tour and we wish you and SPDT nothing but the very best!

Dear Chloe,
Thank you for such a fabulous review - I feel quite humbled by it.
It really was my pleasure to meet you both and I thoroughly enjoyed your company too!
We really did see so much of Sydney plus all of those terrific 'out of the way' spots as well as the main must see attractions - all with perfect Sydney summer weather and blue skies.
It was a privilege to share this beautiful city with you both and creating wonderful memories of your time here in Australia (it did feel like we had all known each other for years by the end of the tour!)
Thanks again Chloe and Kim for such a wonderful day. I wish you all the best for the rest of your fabulous holiday.
Warm regards,
Julia

Before boarding our cruise in the port of Sydney, we booked a day tour. It was very good! We got to see quite a bit of Sydney and surrounding area. Had a lovely lunch in Bondi Beach. A tour ending beer at the oldest tavern in Sydney. Our tour guide was excellent. Very informative and fun to talk with. Only two things and I think if I had thought to ask, he would have accommodated us. We didn’t get out of van at Opera house to walk around. Just quickly drove by. Secondly, we didn’t make any stops downtown. Feel like we missed a lot just driving through. But, like I said: I didn’t ask. Next time I will do my home work and consult on the itinerary. All in all , our experience was great and we would recommend Sydney Private Day Tours!

Dear Linda and Bill,
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It was a pleasure to meet you both and show you so much of this lovely city and beaches regions.
We are so glad you enjoyed your tour and enjoyed your seaside lunch at Bondi Beach.
We would like to clarify that you did in fact, make several stops downtown in Sydney however given the size of the City, you may not have been wholly aware that these stops were in the 'Downtown' region - many visitors to Sydney are surprised at how big the city is and how spread out it is - especially when also covering both the Northern and Eastern Beaches, which as you know, are just too good to miss!
On your tour, we stopped at all of locations listed on the itinerary including the Sydney main attractions plus many, many more with plenty of time to wander around at your leisure to take photo's and soak up the views!
We are very sorry to hear that you would have liked to also have had a tour inside the Opera House as well - although given your 8 hour tour went for over 9 hours this could have been a challenge 😊 - We would have been more than happy to accommodate any other special requests and it is always our pleasure to do so!
It does state in our itineraries that you don't go into the Opera House (the Sydney Opera House operate their own tours inside the building and without exception, no other tour operators in Sydney are permitted to operate tours inside the actual building)
Your guide certainly would have been more than happy to assist you with booking an Opera House Tour with the Sydney Opera House Trust - we actually highly recommend these tours for clients who have a little more time in Sydney because they do take around 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
We wish you all the very best for your travels and hope that you both had a wonderful time on your amazing cruise around Australia
Kind Regards
Julia & Scott

If you want a personalized tour of Sydney, this is it! Not only does Scott take you to Sydney's iconic spots, he will also show you some local spots, which have some of the best views of the city, or the beaches. For a first timer in Sydney, I'm glad I took this tour, and highly recommend you as do as well, to get a good layout of the city and then explore it on your own afterwards.

We had booked a Blue Mountains tour with Scott and were promptly refunded our money as soon as it became evident that the tour would have to be cancelled because of fires that had spread into the area. I especially wanted to visit the Featherdale Wildlife Park and asked if we could combine that with the Sydney tour. Scott accommodated this request, and we had a great day exploring Sydney. In addition to the animal park, Scott showed us Sydney's iconic sights as well as several of it's diverse neighborhoods. He was waiting for us at the cruise terminal when our ship arrived and tailored the entire day according to our preferences. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience in Sydney and left with a very positive view of this beautiful city.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your tour and your wonderful experience - we really appreciate it!
We are so glad that you enjoyed your Customised Sydney Private Tour and that despite the challenges with accessing the Blue Mountains we were still able to put together a fabulous custom tour for you both.
It was a pleasure to meet you and show you many of the uniquely 'Sydney' areas as well as the main sights plus include a visit to the Featherdale Wildlife Park. The Kangaroo's are really adorable and it's great that you got to experience the park and the animals!
We hope that you enjoyed the rest of your fabulous cruise!

Another great day spent with Scott (I also done the night tour the previous evening). I visited everywhere that was on my list - my favourite being Bondi beach of course! Scott was so patient with me whilst I spent way to long in a shop trying on Bondi wear and trying to decide on souvenirs for the family. He was also so very patient with me requesting photos to be taken, which I now have plenty to choose from and many still to sort through haha.
A private tour provides so much more flexibility, no rushing back to the coach or waiting for others - it was completely my time and I held the reins as such. Scott let me completely take control of where we went and how long we stayed.
Amazing experience and most definitely something that everyone needs to experience.
Thank you again Scott :)

Hello Again Sarah!
Thanks for taking the time to write a review and sharing you feedback with other travellers.
Glad you enjoyed Bondi Beach and managed to find plenty of great clothes too - I have daughters, so I am used to shopping :-)
It was my pleasure to host you and make sure that your tour was special and you got to do all of things that you wanted to do.
I look forward to welcoming you back to Sydney on your next visit,
Best Regards
Scott
