      Winery Visit from the City
The 2 wineries we visited before lunch were excellent as was the distillery (after lunch which was at 4 Pines Brewery and was delicious). I only rated this as a 4 however as the bus was very cramped/uncomfortable for such a long trip. Also, there was a wine/cheese tasting directly following the lunch at the brewery so no one was hungry at that point. It would have been nice to spend extra time at the first 2 wineries to walk around and get photos but it was very rushed.

      Wide variety of wine!
Got to taste a wide variety of wine and our tour guide Michael was great at adapting to when we were slow and when we were quick at each venue. Lunch included vegan options. A boisterous group on the bus was a bit much so early in the morning but made for a fun day. There are USB chargers next to the seats so you can charge up while on the bus. A hat and water bottle are a must.

The day was off to a poor start as the number of people on the tour was 20 instead of the no more than 14 promised. The seats and leg space of the vehicle that took us out to the Hunter Valley was similar to the space in a budget airline and was not the luxury vehicle that was promoted by the description. For us, the winery picks were not what we were hoping for but the wines were all of good quality. The hosts at all of the wineries were friendly and knowledgeable. The wineries that had food pairings (either cheese or chocolate) were very good. Unfortunately, the wine and cheese pairing was directly after lunch when we were full. It would have been nice to have that pairing before lunch because we were offered some of the wines at lunch (which was at the same venue).

      Fun was had by all!
We had a lovely day (my husband and I and 2 other couples) on our full day Hunter Valley Wine Tasting Tour. It was exactly what we were looking for. Chris, our driver/ guide, was incredibly professional and personable. He took great care of us, I felt very safe, and he ensured all went smoothly and that we kept on schedule. Great tasting opportunities and a really yummy lunch! Thanks so much!

Won’t travel again with Colorful Trips again! Need to better your experience and treat each guest as special.
The trip itinerary was really good! Covered a good number of spots in Canberra and there was sufficient time to explore all spots as well. However, the people on the trip were the worst! They were all very rude and very impatient. The tour guide was good with his knowledge however was being too juvenile and wasn’t really keeping everyone in check! He was also making fun of a lot of the people on the tour which gets a bit annoying after a while. I have travelled the world but never thought the tour in my own home would be one of the worst! Will never travel again with Colorful trips again. However Canberra is amazing and defs worth visiting!

      Excellent day out, highly recommend
My sister and I joined this group tour Feb 2024 and had an incredible time. We were spoiled with delicious wines and food throughout the day, and we were even lucky enough to see wild kangaroos! Our driver was very courteous and communicated everything clearly. The group size was perfect, not too small, not too big.

      Great experience
The driver was also our guide and accompanied us exceptionally courteous, amiable, and provided us with insightful explanations throughout the tour. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and I wholeheartedly endorse this tour. Despite being a full-day excursion, it is certainly worth embarking on.

      Hunter Valley tour
What a fabulous all day tour! Our driver/guide, Branko, was 5 star. The day is broken up with rest stops and it’s an easy pace stopping at 2 wineries, then lunch and final wine tasting followed by the distillery nice small group of about 15, Branko was friendly, informative, played great music and a careful, safe driver. I was worried about the long day but it was great. Nice way to enjoy the countryside and learn about the local wines. Your company quickly responded to my questions and the meeting place was easy to find and very timely! Thank you. I highly recommend this experience!

      Amazing Canberra trip from Sydney
Our guide Piotr was amazing. So knowledgeable about everywhere we went: Museums, Parliament, Embassy Row and sites up and back. While the ride was long, he took breaks which made it much easier. HIGHLY recommend this tour and ask for Piotr!

      Long day but good experience.
The Iron Gate winery and the cheese and distillery tasting were great. We didn’t like the chocolate tasting as much because it seemed like the winery guide was more interested in selling than guiding. Our driver Tom was great and went the extra mile.

The day was great, however, tour was very expensive for what it was. We got to see some great views around the Blue Mountains. Think the only entry that was paid for was at the Wildlife park. That was the only place we got a ticket for...so not sure what the other entry fees were that we paid for in the total cost.
You actually need a high level of fitness as you do a lot of walking up and down stairs - so it's not for the faint hearted. This needs to be explained more in the trip descriptions.
When you go to Scenic World, you walk down a track (a lot of steep stairs) and then you can either walk back up, or take the train ride up to Scenic World. There are no one-way tickets.....so you have to pay when you get up there and the cost is $55! And the train ride is only for 1 minute. We were told at the time the cost would be $20. The $55 covers all the cable cars once you get up there.
The lunch is pretty average as it is picked up from a local bakery. We got ham/chicken/beef salad rolls. For the cost of the tour...better lunch should be provided.
    Tour guide was friendly.

Thanks PD, but this tour is currently under priced given the huge cost increases businesses are facing at the moment. We'll check on the pricing of the optional rides as Scenic World are constantly changing their ticketing. Please note we pay national parks fees to be able to take you on the walks in the national park and we love supporting the small local bakery where we source lunch. Featherdale entry is $38pp . The list of other costs we incur to run this great, small group tour are best left for another forum!

Long day (11 hours) but very much worth it. Peter is such a great guide with an incredible amount of knowledge. Loved all of the time stops we made. The picnic/meal is a sandwich, which isn’t enough food for 11 hours. I would suggest skipping the sandwich and giving time to stop and eat at a restaurant or cafe. Definitely recommend this tour.

Ronnie is THE BEST tour guide ever! So knowledgeable and a laugh. Had a brilliant day with colourful collective travel out into the blue mountains & despite the weather not being the best, Ronnie did his utmost to make sure we could see the beautiful waterfalls and three sisters! Animal park was fab too. Highly recommend this company and trip :)

I just did the 9 days brisbane to Cairns trip. It was very comfourtable (specially bc we were 6). The tour guide, Thorpe, has been an amazing professional. Setting the right mood and being a real problem-solver whenever we had the minimal inconvenience.

The price is a bit too high for the hostels were there cheapest ones and only 15 meals are included (1,8 per day?)

Hi Claudia, Thanks for the review. We select the properties we stay at for a range of factors including capacity, location, facilities, price and social interaction. Given the challenges to meet the ever increasing range of dietary requirements, we feel we got the balance right by providing about half the meals allowing people to explore and find venues and menus that best suit their own needs.

Got to cover a lot in just one day. Peter was super friendly and knowledgeable in a quick overview of Sydney and the Blue Mountains. I would strongly recommend this tour if you want a quick but thorough overview of Sydney and the surrounding areas and to spend some time with wildlife. Thank you Peter for everything!

If you are looking for a great way to fill your day, this trip is definitely worth your time and money! Our tour guide Garry told us really interesting aboriginal stories during our hike to see the three sisters. On top of that, he also had a lot of fun facts to say during our bus trip, which made the long drive pleasant. On our way to the hike, we stopped at the Featherdale Wildlife Park. We got the opportunity to feed and pet kangaroos and see lots of other amazing animals such as Koalas, Dingoes,... Moreover, on our way back home, we stopped at an amazing viewpoint, which was truly breathtaking (the bush fires were only slightly visible and did not really affect the beautiful view!).

Thanks heaps for taking the time to share your thoughts on tour recent day trip to The Blue Mountains. It's always great to hear what people loved about the day, and it's no surprise that Featherdale Wildlife Sanctuary was a stand out for you. Thank you also for acknowledging the recent devastating bush fires. The mountains are slowly healing, and the views are indeed spectacular, but the locals are still hurting, so thank you for showing your support. Cheers

Our tour guide Gary did an amazing job of taking us around to all the best spots and sharing lots of history of aboriginal culture along the way. I learned so much and it was honestly the highlight of my trip to Australia so far! The Wildlife Park was so much fun and they let you pet and interact with many of the animals. The day was packed full of activities but I didn't feel rushed and I had time to enjoy everything. Even with the recent bushfires, there's so much beautiful scenery to see in the Blue Mountains! Lunch was very filling and tasty too. Would highly recommend!!

My trip with Michael was great, the weather was beautiful, everyone on the bus got along well whether they were with friends or solo, I made some new friends while on the trip that I am still travelling with now! We seen lots of beautiful views, the main ones everyone wants to see and had a decent amount of time at each place. Went to an animal sanctuary which was so good! We stopped and had lunch, had a great time even on the bus, it was all very chilled and Michael was very informative and a nice guy! Would recommend this trip and company to anyone looking to do this trip, it’s all sorted for you and takes the stress away allowing you to enjoy it. Thanks again!

Our tour guide Colin was absolutely fantastic! Not only was he extremely informative he was very friendly and easy to get along with. He was happy to answer any questions we had regarding the tour and the beautiful Blue Mountains. Early hours in the morning we had a bit of mist/fog due to the bushfires, therefor the visibility wasn’t the best, however you could still see and appreciate the spectacular views.
Later on in the day, the sky’s cleared up more, and we got to see more of the blue mountains than anticipated. I would have definitely regretted not going! If you’re in Sydney, I’d highly recommend this tour with Colourful trips. Its definitely worth doing/experiencing.

We're thrilled to hear your enjoyed the day, despite the current conditions, and that the day did clear up for you in the afternoon. This is not uncommon in the mountains. The conditions can change from hour to hour, so you definitely made the right decision in going ahead with the tour. We'll be sure to pass on your kind words to Col. Cheers
