      Comfortable and a good dinner
The cruise was comfortable and the dinner was good, but the "Sunset Cruise" was back to the pier way before sunset!! I think they had to set up for the next group. It was still enjoyable though.

I was slightly disappointed. I was under the impression that we were reserved a window seat Those were reserved for the dinner cruise.

Dinner was dry and bland, harbour was stunning
While the cruise around our stunning Sydney harbour was enjoyable, the dinner itself was a poor experience. There were 2 choices for both entrees and dessert, and 3 choices for main course. The food was fairly ordinary eg smoked salmon entree on a small bed of dry lettuce with capers was akin to what I would prepare at home. Mains of either chicken or barramundi were both dry and bland. Wait staff were mechanical and attempted to clear my plate while I was still eating with my fork mid air ! Similarly an over zealous waiter took my wine glass away mid meal even though we had a bottle of wine still. This was a valentines dinner and I felt mildly embarrassed I had chosen this. Unfortunately I cannot recommend captain cook cruises as a dinner cruise.

Saw the fireworks from the boat. Lovely experience overall. The service was very good and the singer on board was excellent. We sat downstairs where there wasn’t any crowd.

Don't use Captain Cook, they will leave you behind and not provide the refund they promise
Not sure which is worse · They intentionally, rudely denied us access to the ferry in the Manly suburb of Sydney, AU · Or they promised on multiple occasions a refund only to never process it My husband and I took the hop on/off ferry to Manly and when trying to get back on the ferry to Taronga Zoo we got left behind event though we were right by the ferry agent and spoke to her. In fact we apologized for the behavior of another guest that was being rude to her. We asked if the boat that was there was ours and she told us to wait for the next boat. When it arrived, she opened the gate for passengers to get off and then quickly shut it and walked away. We thought she would come back but she didn't and the boat left!!! We couldn't believe it as we were right with her and she knew we were waiting for that boat! As a result we had to pay to take another line and then got to the zoo so late it wasn't worth paying the entry fee. We emailed captain cook management and the apologized, asked for our credit card for a reimbursement and promised a refund that never came. They did not dispute what happened but didn't provide what they promised TWICE! Dont' waste your time or money with this operation as there are others to choose from and they surely can't be worse.

DO NOT BOOK ANY EXCURSIONS WITH TRIP ADVISOR
We were sent inaccurate meet up information causing us to miss our Sydney harbour dinner cruise and wasting over £200 which has been refused a refund or credit. Trip Advisor are not an honourable company - always book direct with the tour operator

      Highly Recommended.
Fabulous cruise. Everything went perfectly. The welcome was great, the food was top notch , the service at the table was spot on . Of course the views were wonderful. I would give the cruise an extra point because thank goodness they didn't have a welcome to country.

      Great Service
We caught the 7pm ferry tonight back from Watsons Bay to Circular Quay. The young people one collecting the fares and the other assisting people on and off the boat were both informative and helpful. Sorry I didn’t know their names but they deserve a pat on the back!

      Great dinner and views
Food and views were great. This was the perfect end to our 2 week trip to Australia. Duration does not include the sunset so you will need to book a different experience if that is what you want.

Awful new 2024 timetable. Used to catch the 8am ferry from Circular Quay to Watsons Bay. Now I will have to change my entire morning plans. Not using Captain Cook anymore unfortunately.

      Could have been better
Views were good;but, thought the sunset would take place and it didn't. Pretty sunny during. Expected at least one free alcoholic beverage for the price and didn't get one. Nor was a free soda offered with the meal.

      Below average.
Aweful experience. Denied our complimentary Beveridge. No narration as promised. Insufficient seating on the top level. Basically a slow trip between Barrangaroo and Circular Quay. Do yourself a favour - take the ferry for a fraction of the cost.

      Lunch Ahoy!
This is the first thing we did upon arriving in Sydney and it was a sign for greater things to come. It was easy to find the port number and there were members to assist and direct you. Upon boarding we were greeted warmly by the team and guided to our table, that was festively decorated, which was by the window. It was a particularly hot that day and the AC inside was a welcome relief. Choices were good, saw them online before even coming to Sydney so we had expectations already. We got one of each since we were a party of three. All three courses tasted delicious, the steak was at the right temp and juicy, the fish was cooked evenly and the desserts were a good ending. Bread selection was good too pairing them with the fresh salad and thick soup. However,we did not try any alcoholic beverages this time so cannot comment on that. Would recommend this for someone visiting Sydney who has 3-4hrs to spare on their lunch time. Views from inside the cabin were still very nice, live music was contemporary and set for the season and the stops were in good duration. Check online at their website for more information. All in all, a good value.

Nice Way to Enjoy the Harbour sites & views
We enjoyed our Sydney Harbour Cocktail cruise with Captain Cook! The boat was nice and we had great view seated by the window on the first level. Once we finished our drinks & charcuterie we enjoyed exploring on the outside level & top decks. We chose a time that allowed sunset & night viewing so we were able to see all the different places in 2 settings. The top 2 floors are for the dinner cruises and they had live entertainment (which our package was supposed to include but we just had piped in music). Our booking had us leaving out of Darling Harbour but we stopped to pick up more people at Circular Quey too which added extra time to our trip that we weren’t expecting. Tour said 2 hours but they told us it was going to be 3 back to our original stop. 2 hours was plenty with no dinner, so we hopped off at the other harbor. Considering drink prices in Sydney we thought the value was good for the price.

We took captain cook ferry and visited Taronga Zoo on Jan 1st, 2020. The zoo was amazing. We saw kangaroos roaming along with us. We saw koalas wife awake. Zoo is not very big. You may plan the visit for half a day.

Only thing captain cook ferry was not that frequent on that day, while regular ones were more frequent.

We started the trip from Darling Harbour from Wharf 1 (Tourist map at Darling Harbour still showing Pier 26). We headed to the top deck .. it was not raining then. Would have been great to have the seats dried off before picking up the first group of passengers. Amazing views from the ferry.

Return trip from Taronga was chaotic with passengers from various operators waited at the pier. Captain Cook Cruise were not able to confirm which side of the 'pier we should wait at as there were various ferry operators using the pier which is understandable.

We arrived for the 3.30pm ferry 1.5 hours early as we couldn't afford to miss the ferry back. I queued up at the first door on side A. Come 3.30pm the pier was packed. Captain cook ferry came and the ferry assistant decided to open the door FURTHEST to the ferry entrance. The first door was just facing the ferry entrance! There were alot of upset customers as the people who waited the longest was not able to board the ferry and the next scheduled ferry was at 4.40pm. They did sent another ferry soon after to pick the remainder of the passengers up. The passengers who missed out on the 3.30 ferry were now queing at the second door, however when the next ferry arrived, they opened the first door! Had it been busy then, we would have missed out again. If one wants more frequency in terms of ferry times to Circular Quay, my suggestion is to use the normal ferries

Great zoo, most informative zookeepers, wonderful assortment of well cared for animals with large clean enclosures. Elephants, tigers, meerkats, seals, koalas and more. And what a amazing view!! There is no other zoo in the world with a view like this. Seeing the spectacular view of Sydney Harbor and the city skyline from the top of the mountain across the harbor where the zoo sits? That alone is worth the price of the ticket. The best view of all is from the Free-Flight Bird Show. Ferry ride across the harbor was quick and easy. Then the Sky Safari aerial tram ride up the hill from the water was cool too.

We booked this package as it incorporate the zoo ticket & covenient/fast ferry transport to the zoo. Its not a very big ferry compared to the public one but a nicer one & less crowded. However one really need to plan your zoo visit trip timing well due to limited return ferry times. Infact, there are only 3 return timings from Toranga Zoo & its about 2 hours wait. So if you miss any of them, either wait very long for next one or pay again, to take the public one

The Taronga Zoo is a great place to explore and see all the animals while in the Sydney area. If you go with children, you could easily spend a full day there. They also have a hotel at the zoo, in case you wanted to do night walks to see the nocturnal animals in their natural habitat. That would be very cool to do also! I would definitely recommend this trip, but depending upon your available time, you may want to take a regular taxi ferry, as they run more frequently than the Captain Cook Cruises.

The harbour ferry and Taronga Zoo is very user-friendly! If you can make it to the Circular Quay, I believe it's wharf 4 (the wharfs are all right there together). The ferry drops you off at the bus that will take you to the main gate. From there you can buy tickets at the box office...98 AUD (70 dollars or so) will get you in. Don't miss the bird show! My wife was a participant! She had a cockatoo land on her hand in front of the audience! (Get there early and sit in the top left corner and you may be asked!) Overall an outstanding trip.

Dear boatsfra, Thank you for sharing your positive experience with the harbour ferry. We're glad to hear that you found the journey and navigation user-friendly. Indeed, Circular Quay is a convenient starting point for the ferry ride, and the wharfs are easily accessible in that area. We're pleased to know that the ferry dropped you off near the bus that takes you directly to the main gate of Taronga Zoo. We appreciate your recommendation, and we hope you had a fantastic time and enjoyed the scenic journey along the way. If you have any more feedback or suggestions, please feel free to let us know. Very good zoo but beware of summer crowds on weekends. Because we could only go on a Sunday ( free day on an Australian tour) it was crowded. We did our best by leaving on the earliest Captain Cook Ferry (9:00AM) which helped us. Bird and Seal shows were great. Later shows were so crowded we didn't try to fight the crowd. However, we did see a lot of Australian animals and the grounds are pleasant albeit a fair amount of construction going on this summer. Koala outdoor viewing area was a favorite! Actually saw a Koala jump from one branch to another which I understand is rare to see! The ferry ride from Circular Quay was fun and efficient (roomy and clean)!

The ferry ride was beautiful on the way to the zoo. Once you get to the zoo, you get to take the sky safari to the entrance and again, more amazing views. The zoo itself is awesome. It’s huge but pretty easy to navigate. It was extremely hot, so a lot of the animals were just lounging in the shade but we were still able to see them all. Easy to follow and find the ferry, short ferry ride past the icons of the Sydney Harbour, bridge and Opera House. Incredible views from various points around the Zoo. The Zoo itself was quite good, a few enclosures and nooks were empty with 'coming soon' signs. The tiger area was done to a very high standard with a number of tigers. Giraffes were great too. The Reptile House was interesting, the reticulated python, nightmare inducing!! We possibly didn't see the zoo in the best of lights as it was pouring with rain alot on our visit.

My son has a fascination for Capybaras, so having visited various wildlife parks in Australia, Taronga Zoo became a must-do before we returned home.
    He wasn’t disappointed.
For me, I found a lot of the zoos inhabitants appeared to be in hiding, so we didn’t see lions, other cats, giraffes, or a number of other species which was a little disappointing. With the zoo being on a fairly steep incline, my mobility hindered us from going up and down to find things. For a family though, this is perfect.
I would do it again, but would plan it very differently next time.
