About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Nicm1080 contributionsAmazing day outWe had the most fabulous day out with Chelsea today. The walk through Dorrigo National Park was amazing. The landscape and waterfalls were truly beautiful. Chelsea was an amazing host, a wealth of information and a lovely infectious laugh. My mum is in her 70’s and managed the walk fine. Chelsea’s home made morning tea and lunch was scrumptious. Highly recommended for a brilliant day out.Written 4 May 2022

There was wonderful attention to detail complete with home cooked food and plenty of time to explore the rainforest and waterfalls. Would highly recommend!Written 5 February 2022
- Kimbarca_19710 contributionsBestest day outingJoe was an amazing tour guide. He was so knowledgeable about the fauna during our Dorrigo rainforest walk. We didn’t feel pushed by time limit, we had our own pace. The food was healthy & fresh, homemade. Lots of laughter. Totally recommend the tour with Joe & Chelsea. Thanks kim barcellona ( Melbournian holidayer)Written 18 January 2022
- joelbF8021LW0 contributionsA nice walk through the rain forestHad a really nice day today. The walk was not too hard which was good as we had our elderly mum with us. The food was home made and quite good and the wine tasting was a blast. Chelsea was a very nice host who knew her stuff.Written 7 January 2022
- Journey532671828830 contributionsExceptional experienceJoe was really accomodating. He had me picked up straight from my airbnb since transpo is difficult where i booked into and also took me back to my place after. Quite knowledgable and shares interesting stories. The chocolate brownie Chelsea prepared was exceptional and even the lunch. We visited a lot of falls and the best part is where we swam. I highly recommend the trip be prepared for easy/moderate hike its exciting. Then the wine testing is amazing youll taste some local wines you cant even buy elsewhere not even online. 5 out of 5!Written 17 December 2021
- emmaWardVic0 contributionsA must do!!Amazing tour, Chelsea and Joe were the perfect guides and their local knowledge really enhanced the experience. A must do if in the area and the homemade food just goes to show the care and passion. Absolutely loved it!!Written 23 November 2021
- richardmS4839RW0 contributionsFantastic experienceMy Mum and I had a fantastic time over several days with Waves to Wilderness. I had several surf lessons with Joe (which were great fun and really well guided), and then we went on both the rainforest waterfall experience and the coastal adventure. Both had really beautiful sights, and Joe and Chelsea had really great knowledge about the areas, and their love of the region really shined through. The food was also definitely a highlight, with delicious homemade (by Chelsea) brownies and cake for morning tea and gourmet toasties and sandwiches for lunch. It was a real pleasure getting to know Joe and Chelsea and listening to their entertaining stories of previous travels. The tours and experiences are a must-do if you are in the area!Written 11 June 2021
- 554shaune0 contributionsA must do!Great day had by myself and my wife. Some couples had cancelled so there was only the 2 of us. We suggested that Joe can the day as we didn’t want to inconvenience him but he insisted the day go ahead. So, a very personal tour we had. Had a great time and learnt plenty. The other hero is Joe’s partner Chelsea. We didn’t get to meet her but her home cooking is fantastic. Had home baked Banana cake for morning tea and home cooked Frittata for lunch as well as salads and cold meats. Highly recommend.Written 30 May 2021
- Glenda D0 contributionsExcellent day. This tour is run by a couple who are owner, operators. We found them to be very professional, and extremely friendly. The actual tour was great value. It included fantastic scenic locations, with very knowledgable commentary. The food provided was excellent . Fresh, homemade, and set out in beautiful settings. Adding to this, I accidently dropped my phone on the bus before being dropped off. I rang them and said I would be happy to come and get it, but they went out of their way to return it to our apartment.Written 24 April 2021
- SuseAndo10 contributionsDefinitely worth doing & well worth it! We all loved it!We went on the rainforest tour and my husband, 13yr old son & I all loved it! Joe & Chelsea are very friendly & easy to chat to as well as very knowledgeable about the rainforest and the whole surrounding area. Our tour was slightly altered due to road closures and recent heavy rains & flooding however Joe managed to find a way around the closures & luckily we were still able to go. Unfortunately we weren’t able to swim in the waterfalls even though the weather was amazing due to the very heavy flows of the waterfalls but this just made them so much more spectacular!! We have some wonderful photos & great memories! Our son loved it & was very interested in the plants & trees in the rainforest & we loved that he got some education Plus exercise without even realising it! This is a day worth doing & is also well worth it! We loved Joe’s stories of his many travelling adventures and Chelsea’s morning tea & lunch were delicious!...Stuart only recently told me about the Brush Turkey taking Joe’s bread roll at lunch... I didn’t know about this because Joe was looking for us to come & have lunch. Sorry Joe. Lol Thanks for the great day & the laughs guys... we are all still talking about it & highly recommend it.Written 4 April 2021
- Wozza080 contributionsYou MUST do this. Don't ask questions, just do it !!!Joe and Chelsea are the coolest people to spend a day with. My wife and I took our teenage boys (16 and 13) and we all loved it. You just can't fault any part of it, from the morning tea + views (hardly comes close to describing it - and brilliantly catered for two fussy teenagers) to the incredible knowledge Joe and Chelsea shared whilst on our way to and in the rainforest. I haven't even mentioned the awesome/delicious lunch with the friendly local Pademelons (think Wallaby) and the "refreshing" swim behind the waterfall - both boys will remember it as a great experience for years to come.Written 15 March 2021
- 599graemei0 contributionsWhen in Coffs Harbour make sure to do thisWe were picked up by Chelsea and the whole time we loved the whole experience. Could not fault anything from the transport, the food, the stops and attractions and the local knowledge. Can not recommend highly enough.Written 1 March 2021
- royleent0 contributionsAwesome ExperienceWe had a wonderful day out with Chelsea and Joe. The rainforest is spectacular and the waterfalls are absolutely stunning. We were supplied the yummiest banana cake and fresh fruit for morning tea. We also sat and had a beautiful lunch all prepared fresh by Chelsea. It was delicious. We didn’t have the best weather to see the second waterfall but Chelsea and Joe went above and beyond to show us what they could and even suggested to stop in and treat our children to award winning gelato / ice cream at Bellingen. We not once felt rushed and they are both so knowledgeable about Coffs Harbour and surrounding townships. I learnt so much. This is an amazing experience and would highly recommend to others. Wonderful day out. Thankyou Chelsea and Joe ☺️☺️Written 22 February 2021
- james020450 contributionsA great day outAmazing trip with great host Chelsea and Joe. Kayaking, bush walking and a delightful morning tea and lunch all in the company of our lovely guide Chelsea. A true local who loves the region, her knowledge of the area was great. We shared beautiful scenery with our wildlife. Stingrays, turtles, cranes, finches, kites, black cockatoos and kangaroos were just some of the creatures we found on our adventure. We even discovered some native raspberries to nibble on! Chelsea was attentive to the needs and interests of our group which gave us a memorable day. I look forward to revisiting and discovering more of the region.

Awesome surfing lessons with Joe and Chelsea, they are passionate and cheerful, clearly enjoying passing on their skill and love of the surf. In just a couple of sessions our kids have progressed from absolute beginners to standing and riding, catching a wave on their own, and are starting to read the surf to pick the right wave and carve across the face. Patient, knowledgeable and full of energy. Would give six stars, Waves to Wilderness will not disappoint!

My wife and I had a great day out with Chelsea and Joe - we did the coastal adventure tour and had an awesome time - very professionally run with lots of activities and local info thrown - would definitely recommend adding this to your holiday plans! Next time we are in this part of NSW we will be doing one of their other tours given our experience with the Coastal Adventure.

We had a fabulous Coastal Adventure today with Chelsea, of Waves to Wilderness Experiences. We explored the Urunga Wetlands where we saw many birds, including Magpie Geese. Then walked along the Urunga Boardwalk before stopping for home made cake and morning tea. Then went to Emerald Beach where we walked among groups of kangaroos grazing on the headland. Then went to Moonee Beach where we ate lunch under a shady tree overlooking the beach. Then went to the Sealy Lookout where we had a spectacular view over Coffs Harbour. We topped off an excellent day by buying avocados and bananas direct from a growers stall, before being dropped off at our resort. An excellent day with a driver who gave us a detailed comprehensive tour of the Coffs Harbour coastal areas.
