      Enjoyable morning watching dolphins
We went out dolphin watching today with Lee and the Skipper (and gorgeous Mack). We ended up with a private trip and were really grateful that the crew didn’t cancel it due to the numbers. Despite being a little choppy on the way back, the catamaran felt very stable and we all felt very safe. We were lucky to see around 6 dolphins playing near the beach and had plenty of time to enjoy this. Lee also shared her dab photos of some of the dolphins she has been cataloging in the area. Great morning out and would highly recommend. Thank you.

      Brilliant!
It was excellent! We saw a large pod of dolphins and got to hang out with them for about an hour, watching them play in the surf and even come right up to the boat and play in the bow wave. It was very comfortable on the boat, not too many people. 10/10

Best whale watching boat in Coffs Harbour
This was the best whale watching experience I’ve ever had (previous experiences were Antartica, Melbourne, Canada and México). Granted, I was super lucky- the weather was perfect, clear water and not too choppy. We experienced whale mugging not once but twice, first time by a humpback juvenile the second time by a pair of the same. The whales were so close to us (<5 metres) for nearly an hour. We were surrounded by humpbacks and dolphins at one point. Lee’s catamaran is perfect for this trip, we were able to circle the boat to follow the movements of the whales. She was friendly and eager to make your experience perfect. Even though I was lucky to have such a great day, no one can control the behaviour of wild animals. If I were to do this again I’ll still go with Lee’s boat just coz it’s built for purpose.

      Whale watching Experience
A group of my friends and I enjoyed a 2 hour whale watching experience Coffs Harbour. We headed out some 6kms into the ocean to see dolphins in the distance and whales so near our boat. Our hosts were friendly and accommodating. A beautiful warm sunny day we had. We moved around the small sea vessel and later enjoyed provided morning tea. We loved the mother and calf that seemed to be inquisitive of us

      We came - We saw
Had a good time & were fortunate enough to see the Whales frolicking on & off. The waterproof jackets supplied by the crew after" already getting drenched may have been better had they been provided prior to getting smashed by a wave & we only felt at our coldest as the host didn't stop saying how cold it was or how poor the conditions were.... :/

All aboard for a lovely morning
Went on the dolphin watching cruise with teenagers. Sat on the front of the sailing catamaran with my son windy day lots of waves enormous fun as we dipped in and out of the ocean. Dolphin pod was spotted along with camels and horses trailing along the beach. Mac the dog and crew super friendly and all at a very fair price. Lovely homemade morning tea cruising back to harbor. Delightful!!!

      LOVELY MORNING SAIL
Had a lovely time on the tour. Beautiful sail on the catamaran and gorgeous beach, island and mountain views. Unfortunately only saw 1 brief glimpse of a dolphin but a very enjoyable morning regardless.

      Sailing with Skipper Mac
We had the best day out on the catamaran. The crew were lovely & super helpful for our 9 yr olds first time snorkelling. We saw turtles, baby grey nurse, and loads of fish. Mac the canine Skipper was also a hit.

      Fantastic trip
Great experience and tour. Loved the Catamaran, it’s great to walk around the boat and have the option to sunbathe or be in the shade. The crew were fab and a nice touch to have drinks and some cake on the journey back to the harbour. The company were very respectful of the whales which pleased me. Can pay on board by credit card. Boat left on time.

      Whale watching
Had a booking with this company through trip advisor, met at the meeting spot at 10.45am and were greeted and taken onto the boat. Captain gave a safety briefing and ships owner and 10 month old dog Mac also on board. Taken out to sea and it wasn’t long until our first whale was sighted. 2 hrs out at sea all up and very well worth if. Great sights. Toilet on board and on way back into shore tea/coffee & light refreshments served. Great trip, an absolute must when in Coffs Harbour.

      Great experience
We went as family group - including two kids 3 and 5. We kept in touch with the crew during the preceding 2-3 days to ensure calms seas. Great trip - we saw plenty of whales - not too close and not too many acrobatics. Everyone enjoyed it. Boat was comfortable. Crew were fantastic and great with the kids. Only improvement I could suggest would be a PA system because the introductory commentary was difficult to hear where we were sitting. Highly recommend - must do if in Coffs when whale season is on.

We have been out on this boat a number of times over successive years and we have never been disappointed. Lee, the tour operator and her crew always come up with the goods, whales galore. The boat is never crowded,a great way to spent a few hours on the ocean

This is my 2nd trip this season with Whale Watch. Lee, (owner), Evan (skipper) and MAC the silky terrier are an absolute delight, very knowledgeable and took us to where the whales are. The catamaran was very comfortable, I like that the numbers are capped at 23, so everyone gets a chance to move around easily. We had perfect weather yesterday and my family from Ireland were absolutely enthralled when they saw whales, mums, dads, calves jumping, playing, breaching and generally having fun in the water. These majestic animals are so big and graceful in the water. Evan was able to have us within the safe distance of them and we watched them swim along parallel to our boat for quite some time. Everyone must do this when they visit Coffs Harbour. Say HI to MAC the silky terrier, who is the best whale spotter out there!! Thanks guys. I'll be back next year for sure.

We had a fabulous time on our cruise, we hadn't even left the marina before we saw a dolphin and later on we had the company of another 6 as they swam and criss-crossed in front of the catamaran. We saw 4 whales and though they didn't stay up for long or do any tricks it was still a sight to see. Lee and Greg made every effort to ensure we saw more, even staying out an extra hour but every time we so a spout and got to it they had gone back under. Considering it is very early in the season and whales obviously do their own thing I think we well and truly got our moneys worth. A cup of tea and biscuits on the way back and seeing the stunning shoreline of the Coffs coast topped off an all but perfect morning.

Very rough seas the swell was breaking, people vomiting. It should have been cancelled due to conditions. My son held a bucket to his face grinned and bore it until we got back. Saw a whale spout 8miles away. It was like expensive sea sickness torture. Recommend checking the weather for yourself. They have the experience and know-how and should have called it off. From the minute we crossed the breakwall it was relentless. It was a relief to return. Sunday 17th of July

Great trip. Lee and the driver and Max the whale spotting dog were excellent - professional and fun and me and my son (12 yo) had a really good time. We saw lots of whales and it was amazing having them come close to the boat. The trip was re-scheduled but Lee kept in contact via text and made it easy to change our plans to still make the tour.

Overcast day with relatively calm seas. Thank God.
Wonderful couple of hours. Found the whales in short course and followed them. I've seen them on television and marvelled at them.
But in real life, completely amazing!!
With the whale alarm dog on board you can't miss them. A warm welcome from the friendly operators. A bit of morning tea, right up my alley.
    Thoroughly recommended

Very experienced crew knowing where to go to find you whales. We’ve spotted quite few and it was a great experience.
The only negative thing is the owners dog who does not stop barking. So, your videos are not going to sound like whales but like a very loud dog...
When the whales jump in the water there is a special “splash” noise that it was disturbed by the dog... not sure should be there.

Sorry you feel that way but Mac is part of the crew and mentioned in a number of reviews. The vast majority of passengers recognise his value in finding whales and often attracting them to the boat.

Must have been lucky although the team had been whale spotting from the coast before launching for the cruise. Good to see they were willing to cruise with only 5 people on the cruise. Towards the end of the season but there were many pairs, and sometimes up to 5 whales in the pod. Lots of Mums and baby whales.
The experience team carefully manipulated the catamaran so as not to startle or scare the whales off. Friendly crew and Mack the dog mascot.
    Pleasant afternoon tea.

We did a two hour trip out onto the ocean to look for whales in migration season. Lee and Greg - with some help from Mac the dog - were great hosts and did a super job trying to locate as many as we could find while keeping a good distance to respect them in the wild. We were definitely left feeling these were mammals to admire and observe rather than impose on them to prompt some sort of display. This was a good thing.

I got the impression that Lee was a bit disappointed at what they were able to show us in terms of whale behaviours but we were delighted just to have enjoyed seeing them swimming along with the occasional tail flip as part of a dive. So we were not at all disappointed and it is an experience we would recommend. These are awesome creatures and we liked the ethos of the team in how they went about sharing them with us.

Thank you for recognising our philosophy. We appreciate it when our passengers understand and enjoy the experience of spending time with the whales, whatever their behaviour. Often society’s expectations are just unobtainable and we won’t compromise our approach. We respect the whales and observe them on their terms which is at times aloof.
