    Interesting and fun, highly recommended.
My partner and I absolutely loved our walking tour of She Shapes History. Super interesting places and content. Our guide Eleri was excellent, really knowledgeable and a joy to be with. We have recommended to all our friends and would do another walking tour on our next trip to Canberra. Thanks for chasing the shade on such a hot day Eleri!

    Best Tour in Canberra
I did the badass women of history tour today with my mum and mother in law and we all had a blast. My mum just moved to Canberra, I've been here a couple years and my mother in law is a true local. We each loved it and learnt new fascinating stories about women in Canberra who impacted Australian history. I would recommend this tour to people visiting Canberra for the first time who want to see the national landmarks in a unique way, as well as locals who have been here for years and want to see their home in a new light. Our guide, Sita, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. She got everyone engaged and having a laugh. She also had a huge wealth of information. I got the impression that, even with all our extra questions and chatting, we only scraped the surface of what she knows about Australia and women's history. I can't wait to try out the other tours by She Shapes History and bring all my friends who visit to do this tour.

Get to know our social and political women activists.
Our guide Eleri was very knowledgeable and spoke clearly so that she could be heard by our small (6) group. She encouraged comments, questions and discussion. As it was a very hot day she encouraged us to drink from our water bottles and where possible, tried to conduct the discussion in the shade. Her stories of the personal and professional lives of the women in ACT history were very interesting and for me, a highlight of the day. I will recommend this tour to friends and visitors. Thank you

One of the best walking tours I’ve done
Great tour with an absolutely fantastic guide. I’ve taken lots of walking tours and this is one of my favourites. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in learning more about Canberra’s incredible queer history.

    Solo tour experience
I went along solo to this tour, but it didn’t feel like it for long. Sita was fantastic at bringing the group together, like we had known eachother for longer than the 2 hours we actually spent together. I loved learning more about Canberras history and the women behind it. I’ve lived in Canberra for over 10 years, but even I learnt something new about this city. Highly recommend and I will definitely be doing this tour again.

    Women's History Tour
Unique insights from committed and interesting guides. I did it once, then again with a house guest from interstate. The tour is worth doing twice in one weekend!!

    Hidden History Comes Alive
A lot of Canberra history is 'big', public moments in big, public places. This tour dealt with events at a much more intimate, human scale and events that were often (but not always) hidden from public view. The lack of such big backdrops requires a skilled storyteller, and with Zev we had that and much more. They brought a passion and connection to the subject. Not everyone can breathe life into a window, a park, a tennis court or the site of a building long gone. Zev was able to do just this. While this is a must do for anyone interested in queer history, it is just as fascinating for people who want to know about the parts of history that are less well known but every bit as interesting.

The Best Way to Learn About Women in Canberra
This was a wonderful introduction to the role of women in the history of Canberra, and by extension Australia. Sita was a friendly, informative and passionate guide who really brought the subject to life. The tour packed an amazing amount into only 2 hours, yet proceeded at a manageable pace with plenty of opportunities to sit down for those needing a break. As a cherry on top we were all given a QR code with links to more detailed information on the subject - all tours should do something like this, as it gives the interested person the ability to dive deeper into the subject. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in the history of Canberra or Australia.

    Sunday morning tour
I went on the Sunday morning tour with a friend, we both enjoyed the tour. Sita was our guide for the tour. She was knowledgeable and passionate and is a great storyteller, with a clear passion for history. It was an overcast day and I was impressed Sita had come prepared with umbrellas for the group (though we were lucky and it didn't rain in the end). I enjoyed the walk around the triangle and learned a lot on the tour and look forward to booking another one in the future. I think the tour would be interesting for both locals and visitors to Canberra.

    History through another lens!
Rain didn't stop us from thoroughly enjoying the Badass Women of Canberra tour with Millie. First of all, Millie is an incredible story teller who brings history to life with such passion. Hearing some of the stories of the creation of Canberra as we know it, including influential women who shaped the development including Marion Mahony Griffin, was incredibly inspiring. And this was just the start. I would thoroughly recommend this walking tour to anyone interested in Australian history, politics and female history in general

    Badass Women of Canberra Tour
It was absolutely pelting down and we didnt know what we were going to do but Milly just took control and made the best of the situation. We popped the umbrellas and she found sheltered areas for us where she imparted her incredible knowledge and then when there was a break in the weather, we moved to the next location. When the weather became too bad we ordered Ubers and went to the beautiful Kurrajong Hotel for a drink and for Milly to finish her stories with us. Milly is so knowledgeable and a wonderful story teller. I will definitely do this tour again with Milly in fine weather to take in the sites in more detail.

Really enjoyed this tour. A nice pace to wander the Canberra streets, really knowledgeable and approachable guide (Sita) and fascinating information to learn. The size of the group was about 15-20 people. I've lived in Canberra more than 20 years but still learned so many new things. I plan to take visitors along with me next time. Ended at the Kingo pub, so you can plan to finish with a relaxing drink.

The walking tour on a beautiful Canberra Spring day showed the "back" story to ASIO and "spying" in Australia. The beginnings of the organisation and in particular the women involved or spied upon show the change in Australia's political and social concerns since before the second world war. It also links to some of the buildings and lets you see some of the architectural aspects of Canberra. The walk was a couple of kilometres with regular stops and the terrain not difficult and took two hours. A hat and some water would be useful on a sunny day. Our guide was happy to answer questions and engage in discussion. The group size was less than 20 and very manageable. A different way to see and learn about Canberra.
