The Good: the boat cruise, the lunch, the shipwrecks, and the amazing wildlife - snorkeling with turtles, rays, and tons of fish. This part was amazing. The Bad: two things… First, the first snorkeling spot we stopped at was the shipwrecks, which we weren’t told the background story about or even got suggestions on how to snorkel the best way before we got in the water. We only figured this out on our own when we got in the water the second time and discovered the boat even HAD pool noodles (btw, pro tip, this is the best way to snorkel…pool noodles across your chest under your arms as you are face down looking underwater). Second bad thing - and the worst part that absolutely ruined the whole experience — the 2 hour boat ride back to the dock when the boat crew was blasting club music at top volume when all we wanted to do was chill…everyone had just eaten lunch, and we were all laying around chilling. All they had to do was play a little Caribbean reggae at a normal volume and all would’ve been well. But instead they played club anthems and the music was so loud it ruined everyone’s experience back. Multiple people even complained and had their ears covered and the crew did nothing to change it. The only people that seemed to enjoy it was the captain and crew - everyone else was captive to this audible offense. There wasn’t a single place on the boat where the music wasn’t offensively loud. I couldn’t get off the boat fast enough. Gave me a headache, and ruined the experience.

A definite must do. The crew are really helpful, the food and drink served on board was great. Even if you are not a confident swimmer you should give this a go.

Captain Eddie , Adam, Stephen “Jamie Fox” and the rest of the Cool Runnings team were absolutely superb. The support and attention to detail were first class. Full range of drinks available throughout the trip, great guided snorkelling and fabulous to see the Turtles and Fish. The lunch was amazing!

We took part in 2 tours with Island Routes in Barbados last week - the rum tour, and the wildlife and snorkelling tour. Our driver for both trips was Naran (apologies if I've spelt this wrong!), who was amazing and knew so much about the island and its history. The tours themselves were great and we got to see lots of the island that we wouldn't have done otherwise. Would highly recommend snorkelling with the turtles - an absolute dream come true!

Fantastic trip and day out. Staff were great , very fun friendly And attentive. Always offering more drinks . Lunch was delicious and the snorkeling / swimming trips were great fun. The boat itself was gorgeous. A great trip and highly recommend

Andre was simply wonderful, he was incredibly informed on the history of Barbados. The tour itself had a perfect mix of adventure and education. If you are in Barbados I highly recommend you request Andre to lead your tour as it will be an unforgettable experience for you and your family or loved one.

We went on the Cool Runnings III and had a good time. The crew were kind and helpful to everyone. The waters were beautiful, and everyone seemed happy. The only complaint we have is there was a lot of smoking and vaping and not much a way to be away from it. When one is prone to motion sickness and smoke/vape also causes nausea, it is difficult to concentrate on warding off the effects of both. My recommendation would be to offer a non-smoking only cruise. Other than that, the experience itself was great!

I am not typically a complainer, and this review is lengthy, but I'll never use Island Routes again. This experience could have been fixed or made right but Island Routes was not willing to truly make it right. My wife and I had just been married and travelled to Barbados for our honeymoon. We stayed at Sandals Royal Barbados (which was so amazing, 10/10 do recommend) and decided that we would like to go on a nice excursion, the only one that we thought would be worth our time money and experience. To our surprise, it was misleading to say the least. We were to be picked up at resort (true), it was to be around 5 hrs (this apparently included the commute to dock location, not disclosed), the dock location was an hour away (it was advertised as Carlisle Bay), it was overbooked (was only suppose to be 12 guests and was more like 18 guests if i remember correctly, so limited seating), the cocktail glasses had to be constantly washed and reused rapidly so the drinks had soap in them, we were gone from the resort from 9:45AM - 5:30 PM (more than 5 hours), we missed other activities that we were wanting to do at the resort. We hadn't eaten since breakfast around 8am, and didnt receive our first (small) hors d'oeuvre (which was included) until around 1:30. We didnt eat "lunch" until around 2:30. I am the first to state that weather is never in anyones control, yet with it being overbooked it made it more difficult to find somewhere to sit that was dry while raining. Of course there was a downstairs with bedrooms but the problem comes into play with, we were only "allowed" to use restrooms downstairs and that was all. This was the second full day on our honeymoon. At the end of it all and we were finally back at the resort, we decided that the best thing to do was for Island Routes to make this "Luxury" experience (that failed tremendously) right. We were told over and over that it was being handled but nothing was being done. We were told that we would be refunded 50% while they "investigate". I checked daily to see what progress was being made, and not to my surprise, nothing by this point. We make it back home and I'm still contacting them to find out what they were going to do. They only refunded 15%, when they had already stated that 50% would be refunded and then they would investigate the situation. Forget the rain, like I said no one can faulted for that. This was not a luxury experience, and I will never use Island Routes again.

This was a nice trip. I felt that it could have been so much more. The guys on the catamaran were very friendly, helpful and did try to engage us. It did feel at times though that we were just another day on the job. The food was really nice and presented beautifully. The music was flat. RnB (Neo album) I would have much preferred to hear soca, after all I was in the caribbean. I also felt that when we went to swim with the turtles, that in 2024, Cool Runnings would by now have technology to take underwater pics and then sell them to you as souveniers. All in all, an okay trip, nothing to be excited about.

Island Routes were very efficient, we were meeting up with friends off a cruise and they ensured we were on the same catamaran. The trip is great, you seen turtles, sunken ship wreck and get taken up to the beaches by Sandy lane, this trip is a must

5 out of 5. Mostly because the crew was excellent. Mateo, Marlo, Hosea, Shamar were our guys. They were friendly, fun and understand customer service. All people that we would have hung out with outside the experience. Safe captain, knowledgeable, and caring. Highly recommend!!

My husband and I did 3 tours while staying in Barbados and we were lucky enough to get the same driver/tour guide twice!!! Glyne was his name, Rhymes with Klein. He made the experiences so much more entertaining with his knowledge and perception of the island. He gave us so much information and we really learned more than expected just from a random person that we assumed just drove us to our destination! He interacted with all of the people onboard in some way to make them feel comfortable! I highly recommend island routes as your tour agency in Barbados but don’t forget to ask for Glyne!

Fantastic, relaxed and sophisticated trip on the Cool Runnings Catamaran from Port Ferdinand. The crew were very friendly and knowledgeable and made all guests feel welcome and at ease. Hospitality was a core focus and the service was excellent. Great balance between time on the boat, sailing, swimming, snorkelling and eating and drinking! Would highly recommend this as a day out in Barbados.

Great day with Paul our driver. Booked through Trip advisor a lot cheaper than Sandals. Definity extreme off road which we loved, but if you get travel sickness maybe give it a miss. Paul very knowledgeable about the island and you get to see a little bit of the real Barbados. Best jeep safari we have done.
