- anneroses5260 contributionsCáceres and Extremadura at their bestA particularly enjoyable and fascinating 5-day group trip in Extremadura with the Belgian tour operator Hobo Reizen inspired by the expertise of our guide Javier Sánchez Clemente. Challenged by the Vuelta bustle, he superbly navigated us through the rich history, traditions and cultural heritage of this beautiful region. Javier practices the art of a personal warm welcome and a relaxed storytelling style full of finely crafted humor. We discovered not only Cáceres and Mérida, but also the Monastery of Yuste, the historic towns of Plasencia, Trujillo, Zafra, Medellin, Guadalupe located in the fragrant wooded mountains, the Monfragüe National Park, local delicacies and so much more. Each of these locations compete for the most charming destination. Some personal highlights: the gardens of the Monastery of Yuste, bird watching the monk vultures and the rare black stork in Monfragüe, the breathtaking panoramic view from the tower of the Medellin Castle, the beautiful unique collection of ancient songbooks in the Monastery of Guadalupe. Thank you Javier! Anne RoseWritten 15 September 2022
- ClaraM0 contributionsGreat guide, good tour 👍🏼You will not be disappointed with this tour. Javier is from Cáceres, has studied art and history and has a real passion for his town. The tour was done mainly in Spanish but Javier’s English is excellent and he translated the important points to several of us who were not great in Spanish. Nice guy, reasonably priced tour and we were given a real insight into Cáceres and it’s history. Thank you Javier 👏👏Written 28 August 2022

His knowledge was extensive, his presentation clear and interesting and we enjoyed his company with his lovely sense of humour. Dealing with Pasearte was easy and Javier is a credit to them. We recommend using them as your guide company and we were privileged to be taken on our tour of exploration of Cáceres with him, thank you Javier. - Truby19700 contributionsHighly recommendedWe thoroughly enjoyed a 2 hour walking tour of Caceres old walled city with Marco. The time went incredibly quickly as Marco was very interesting, knowledge and humorous. We would have missed so many buildings and facts without the tour. Marcos English was impeccable. The amount of languages he speaks is beyond impressive.Written 11 September 2020

- Don C0 contributionsTour of CaceresWe had booked a tour of Caceres with the amazing Marco as our guide. He has an encyclopediac knowledge of the history and sites of the place, which he delivers with humour and patience. Caceres is a well-preserved medieval old town with it's palaces, churches, wall and arches. Marco brought it all alive. If you are staying in Caceres or the surrounding area, if you can get Marco to give you a guided tour this will set you up for your holiday.Written 7 March 2020
- pogwilson0 contributionsEnjoyed our recent tours of Caceres and MeridaMarco is a guide who is easy to follow. He brings the spirit of places to life with a light touch and showed an excellent understanding of historical context. He engaged well with everyone in our group (we have a wide age range with special interests in Roman archaeology). He made our visits to Caceres and Merida a lot of fun and gave us good memories to take home. Highly recommended.Written 7 March 2020

Marco took us on a fantastic walking tour of the old monumental area of Caceres. It was a great family tour, very kid-friendly and engaging even for children of all ages. We have teenagers all the way down to eight years old and they were all learning and actively engaged! We enjoyed that he talked about architecture as well as historical anecdotes and interesting bits of history to tie it all together. Would highly recommend Marco’s fun tour. Perfect English spoken, too.

We booked on this tour for 12.00 on 18/2 for English speaking guide, which was confirmed when we booked but on arrival she told us she couldn’t speak English.
No contact details given to complain.
The tour will get you free access into museums that would otherwise charge. With the help of a very kind young Spanish man we made some sense of what the guide told us. Without him it would have been impossible to understand what the guide said.

We were a group of 7 who booked a tour as part of a family weekend gathering. Marco our tour guide was sensational! His knowledge of Caceres is extensive and his story telling skills really brough the whole experience to another level. I can't imagine visiting there now without Marcos as our tour guide! Highly recommend, especially if you would like a tour in English. Thanks and a real pleasure to meet you Marcos, we will be back.

We loved the visit we made with Javier. He took great care to interact with the entire group and conveyed to us his love for the city and his knowledge of its past and recent history. He had answers to all the transversal questions that arose. So pleased that we extended the visit to the Jewish quarter.
Very satisfied.

Absolutely outstanding - a guided tour as it should be and I recommend this tour highly. I was really impressed with the dedication, level of knowledge and detail, enthusiasm and passion for the subject and thoroughly professional delivery of the tour. It was so interesting and revealed aspects of the beautiful historic centre you'd never spot or know for yourself. We also went into a couple of places which I wouldn't necessarily have gone into otherwise, which were excellent and with the additional explanation, really brought them to life. Guide Raul's excellent commentary was supplemented by pictures, photos and tips on how to really look at things.
I tagged onto a group right at the last minute, even though it was given in Spanish (my Spanish is OK but I would have preferred English). Raul was very good explaining things to me again if I hadn't quite caught the point first time so I got a lot more than I hoped/expected. The balance of walking and information was just perfect (compared with two days earlier in Toledo, a tour which was the opposite: raced around the sights by a distracted guide, not very much information given but a LOT of very quick walking while the guide spoke into her phone). These guys are real professionals so don't hesitate to book your tour with them.

We took the same tour that we had previously taken the day before plus the old Jewish quarter. Raúl made us see why the old city is the way it is today, telling us in an entertaining way historical and popular facts and anecdotes that enrich our view of the streets and walls. In addition, he encouraged us to visit other essentials that did not fit in the time we had, for which we thank him from here.

We made the essential visit to Cáceres with Javier and with Arturo the one to Cáceres at sunset. Both very professional and friendly. It is mandatory if you visit Cáceres to do it with guides, who will tell you the history and anecdotes of this wonderful city. I recommend Pasearte based on my experience without a doubt.

We have made the guided tour of the historic center of Cáceres with Javier, great Guide that has provided us with many facts and curiosities during the visit. We were a mixed group of adults and children. Javier has managed to capture the attention of everyone with his explanations, adapting perfectly to the rhythm of the group. Enriching and enjoyable tour.

A very pleasant, didactic and very complete visit to Cáceres. You will visit the most important places and you will know their history and some anecdotes. The Guide (Manuela) very well, you could tell that she knew what she was talking about and made sure that the visit was entertaining. It's worth a lot.

The guide was great, he told us a lot of super interesting things that, if we went without a guide, we would not have known. And he took us to beautiful places. Furthermore, he knew how to keep us 100% interested and left us wanting to return!
Thanks a lot
