- pmncb0 contributionsPuffing Billy steam trainGreat trip up to the Dandenong hills. Coach driver Matt was a laugh a minute, great personality and informative too. Puffing Billy steam train ride through the hills then a stop at Healesville wildlife sanctuaryWritten 4 December 2024
- 687kellyt0 contributionsAn amazing tour! What a wonderful trip! Our lovely guide,Gary, could not have been more friendly and helpful in making sure our day was memorable. Sovereign Hill was worth the trip and the volunteers simply amazing and stayed in character. The underground tour was fascinating and the volunteer very knowledgeable! The trip was lovely with Gary giving information and a little drive through Ballarat also. Would highly recommend this trip and company!Written 4 December 2024

- PJMKSR0 contributionsExceeded expectations, and tour guide Gina was the best! Our whole family had a great time on this tour! The Puffing Billy railway was a blast, and the conductor Rob happened to be in our carriage and provided interesting details about the trains and surrounding area. At the Healesville Sanctuary we saw at least 6 koalas, several kangaroos, wallabies, echidnae, a platypus, and more, and the sanctuary staff were friendly and knowledgeable. But perhaps most importantly, our tour guide Gina was incredible — she was friendly from the moment she picked us up, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and kept us on schedule. Thank you for a great day, Gina! Tip: plan for unpredictable weather!Written 27 November 2024
- FBPerth0 contributionsLack of communication and tour changed without consulting us.Tour was changed without contacting me by phone, even though the booking requires phone number so they can contact you. Was placed on a tour I had no interest in and only became aware of it when what the tour guide was talking about didn’t marry up with what I had booked and paid for. Further to this, the original booking included a meal, which the changes booking did not, so we had to make unplanned alternative arrangements. Very disappointing.Written 26 November 2024

- yul-ian_seetheworld0 contributionsDay trip to French Island & Phillip IslandPhillip Island and French Island Wildlife Expedition You just can't beat the experience. We signed up for this trip and couldn't have been happier. The tour was well organised, all pickups and transfers were clearly explained and went off without an issue. Matt was the ultimate tour guide and driver. He made everything fun and kept us all in good spirits. The king of Dad jokes also had a resume, which allowed him to give us great insight into the area, its history, flora, and fauna. 15 years as a tour guide, and the history of research in this field meant he could tell you anything you wanted to know. Don't be mistaken people there is brains behind the beauty. The trip to French Island was fantastic. Our guide was Scott, who served with Vic Parks for 20 or 30 years, and much of this was involved with ecological projects on the island. Eradication of invasive species, koala population management, and many more. We also visited a farmhouse with a local who shared her experiences living in a community that is totally off the grid. You'll also see all the koalas you could hope for. Finally, on to Phillip Island! The Penguin viewing, which was like a dream. The facilities are first class, the staff are friendly and very interactive, and the penguins are the star of the night. You can't ask for a better time. Big thank you to Explore Australia Tours - no hesitation with giving this tour 5 stars.Written 21 November 2024

The train ride was fantastic, such a unique way to see the countryside, and getting to sit on the window ledge was so much fun. - Kahlia D0 contributionsGreat experience for all ages!Would highly recommend this tour. This was a great day trip, suitable for everyone of all ages including our children ages 4-9. Bus was comfortable and clean, Puffing Billy was a great experience (especially hanging our legs out of the train), and the Animal Sanctuary was one of the most well maintained and friendliest zoos I’ve ever been to. Sam was a great host! Friendly, informative and great with the kids. Thanks for having us Sam 😀Written 10 November 2024

I've been on wine tours in the past but this was incredible! Matt, our tour guide, was such a gem! He had lots of knowledge about the region and also great relationships with each of the people at the various stops.
The wineries were great but the perk of getting to go to a brewery and cinder distillery had us really pleased by the end of the day ;) The lunch was delicious as well and very filling. Overall, this experience was incredible and we got to see some great scenery. We certainly got more than our money's worth.

We booked our tour with Explore Australia as it was a small group tour and covered areas that most other tours do not. Brooke was our guide for the morning and she was friendly, cheerful and very informative. Brooke gave us plenty of insight into the local areas that we visited. We had plenty of stops along the way for us to take photos, go to the bathroom or get a coffee. Brooke dropped us to the ferry where we were provided with a great lunch. Once we crossed the bay we arrived in Sorrento where Mark picked us up. Our tour continued with another informative and friendly guide. We were unable to visit the brewery on our tour but instead visited the Mornington Peninsula Chocolaterie which was amazing. We were able to sample plenty of the chocolates and given time to browse the shop afterwards to stock up. This was an added bonus to the tour which everyone enjoyed. There was plenty to see in the Bellarine and Mornington Peninsula areas with quaint towns and rugged coastlines. We had a great day, very relaxed and would highly recommend this tour and thank Brooke and Mark for making the day even more enjoyable.

Brooke was a phenomenal tour guide! She gave us tips, tricks and ideas for future tours and was an absolute riot the whole time. I was never bored and this was a great way to see the area. With it being mid winter, I am surprised that we got to see everything before the sun set. The weather really held out for us and I am glad we got to see the sights and enjoy it all.
The first winery was my personal favourite, and being the only table present at the time really made it all that more intimate. Lunch was delicious and there is plenty to choose from! As someone who needs to be dairy free that there was more that 1 option on the menu was a total surprise. The ferry was great, the sun was out for most of it although sadly we saw no wildlife. When we got in, the table at the front right at the window was reserved and our afternoon tea was waiting. Brooke took our drink orders and they all arrived swiftly. The brewery wasn't an option the day I took the tour but instead we headed off to another winery that had fantastic views. Afterwards, we headed out to Arthurs Seat and the bathing boxes. Brooke lead the group in a handful of impromptu van sing-along moments as well. Plenty of toilet stops which is always nice when you have 6 glasses of wine and a cup of tea.
Utterly chill vibe and everything was clearly meticulously planned by Explore Australia. Will tour with them again.

The whole experience was fantastic from pick up to drop off.
Mark, the bus driver for the first part of the journey was very nice and very informative. We had plenty of time during the stops to look around and see the sights.
Lunch was very nice, in a very relaxed atmosphere with beautiful views.
Mark dropped us at the ferry and escorted us on board where our afternoon tea was waiting for us.
We were then met by the lovely Brooke, who was very bubbly and chatty. She took us to the other sights and the beer tasting, which all was amazing.
All in all it was a perfect day.

There was a little bit of everything and was a well-rounded trip. The ferry ride was very comfortable and enjoyable. Matt (our guide and driver) was very friendly (and his recommendations for mussels was a good call). I would've liked to spend more time at the winery, but it was still overall a very enjoyable day around the bay.

Did the "Around the Bay Food and Wine Taste Trail" today with Brooke. She was wonderful, enthusiastic and great fun to be around - very knowledgeable and a good laugh. Our whole group got along really well and had a fantastic time. The wine tasting was really nice, with different options to try and each wine was nice and slowly explained to us in how they differ. The food stop was incredible with generous portions (especially for a lunch!) and amazing quality. I enjoyed every part of this tour and would love to tour again with this company :)

Mark was good and informative.
Sufficient time given at all stops, to see and enjoy the different places of interest.
However, only negative points are:
1. Onboard Music was not pleasant to everyone.
2. Jack Rabbit Winery set meal lunch was not up to standard … I was kinda disappointed with the tofu curry dish.
Overall it’s good except the food.

Spent a fantastic day yesterday enjoying this tour.
Pick up was prompt in a nice, clean and modern mini bus.
Matt the Guide was brilliant and kept us entertained and informed throughout the day.
All the stops were well thought out. Amazing scenery plus great food, wine and beer .
Love the concept of the ferry ride as part of the tour - beautiful views. Brilliant that you literally go all around the bay in a loop and do not have to repeat any scenery etc.
Lunch at Jack Rabbit was delicious.
Fantastic tour for both locals and tourists.
