We had a great day in Walkabout Wildlife Sanctuary. The visit was relaxed, the kids joined activities offered by the sanctuary. There are animals running around that make the place feel real, unlike a zoo. The prices are very reasonable and there was no massive crowd. We had…

Small park with rescued animals and helpful staff. Dirt trails through the dry forest. We did not have time to visit the aboriginal sites but will come back to see those another time.

Great time with my friends attending the Wildlife Park. I enjoyed seeing that a lot of the animals they take in cannot survive on their own in the wild. They also don't breed and keep in captivity. It truly is a wildlife park and didn't make me feel the same way zoos do. I would…

It was important for me to experience animals in Australia but as an animal lover, it was more important to make sure I chose a location that was not a zoo or some animal park where animals are just kept for profit and entertainment. I was delighted to visit Australia walkabout…

The website implies that you’ll be driving or walking among free range animals, but it’s just a tiny zoo with a few kangaroos wandering. The staff is nice but again the advertising and price are not consistent.

We are sorry you did not get to see many of the kangaroos. At feed times there can be over 40 macropods (kangaroos) hanging out at the visitor centre, however they have access to 70 acres of bushland to free-range through, so sometimes it can seem like there are not many around outside of the feed times. We always suggest that our ranger talks, which are every half an hour, are the best way to see our animals as they live in natural habitats and behave as they would in the wild. We are fully funded by our gate entry and do not receive any government funding towards the conservation work that we do at the park. Our entry price is a lot less than other zoos, but supports the costs of our rangers out there taking care of our animals.
