Overview

Kealakekua Bay, home to Captain Cook’s monument, is located on the coast of Kona and only accessible by boat or hiking. With this tour, take a relaxing lunch or dinner cruise to this hard-to-reach spot, and enjoy the included Hawaiian-style buffet, cocktail, and live entertainment.

What to Expect

Your cruise begins at the Kailua Pier where you’ll board the boat for the 12-mile journey down the Kona coastline. Sit back and relax as a local historian shares stories about the landmarks you pass on the way to Captain Cook’s Monument.

Upon arrival, enjoy a cocktail from the fully stocked bar and an island-style buffet. A typical buffet includes fresh fruit, assorted cheeses, salads and local breads for appetizers. For entrees enjoy kalua pork and cabbage, braised beef brisket, BBQ chicken or veggie rice pilaf. Make sure to save room for dessert and Kona coffee.

Keep an eye out for dolphins, turtles, manta rays and seasonal humpback whales. Take in the sites of Ahu’ena, Heiau, the Holua Slide, and the Kuamo’o Battlefield as you sail back to the pier.

Not what I expected

It sounds like you're getting off the boat for a show. You don't get off and it's very boring. Although the staff is very nice and know what they're doing. I wouldn't recommend this tour.

Perfect balance of history, culture and dinner.

Mikayla (sp?) was a wonderful local lady that kept us up to speed on history on culture with folklore added. Her story-telling abilities were wonderful. The entire crew was attentive to every detail. The ship was immaculate and in excellent repair. The food was good,...More

4/27/18 Historical Dinner Cruise

Booked this because of great reviews on Trip Adviser. We were not disappointed. The spinner dolphins put on a show and our table mates were great. Everything was as advertised and the dinner was very good, served in a cove such that we weren’t bouncing...More

Great cruise!

Nice boat; great staff and really good food. Enjoyed the sunset cruise and we even did get a nice sunset after days of clouds. Nice historical information. Recommend and would do again.

Fun evening

Took the dinner cruise down the coast hearing all about the history and the historical stories past down to each generation. So interesting. Historical landmarks and their history was pointed out as we passed them. A complementry drink and snacks were ready as we pulled...More

Not really. They don't keep an eye on kids and there are lots of places for them to fall overboard. The ship bounces all over so much that it is hard for adults to walk.

No. You will need to Uber to the dock. I did not see any public transportation in the area.
