At the end of the Mezzavalle beach, closing the bay of Portonovo, there's a long reef called Il Trave (the Beam). This 800-meters long rock formation closes the bay and creates a quiet area which will be perfect to stop and have a refreshing swim. Swimming next to il Trave is also the best option if you desire to do some snorkelling, as you'll have the chance to see some marine life in the nooks and crannies of this huge underwater rock formation.

This was an incredible experience.
The boat is called DonMar and it is a historic boat that has been prevailing over 55 years!
It was incredible to be able to sail on DonMar.
Fabio, its owner (3rd generation and its sailor was very attentive, genuine, professional, and knowledgeable. His guided tour while sailing made our experience truly remarkable.
My wife and I had a great time!
The food from a traditional shop was very tasty, and the wine we had was also excellent, perfect temperature!
The timings allocated to swim were also just perfect.
A great experience that I would definitely recommend and do it again!
Thank you Fabio!
We wish you all the best :)

From communication before the excursion to being offered restaurant recommendations for the next leg of our journey, we couldn’t have asked for more. The boat was beautiful, knowing its history in the family made it special, and the views and time at sea were great. A highlight for our family!

We spent a wonderful day sailing on the Adriatic with a wonderful host, Fabio. The day was perfect...sunny and windy enough to carry us effortlessly along the coast of the Riviera Conero. We had been many times to the March region and had never sailed there before. So if you are planning a trip, we would highly recommend sailing with Fabio for a tour of the coast. The Marche is a fascinating area of Italy and Fabio's knowledge of the history enriched our experience.

This was probably the best tour I have ever been on. For under $100 per person you get 3.5 hours of sailing, swimming and snorkeling in the Adriatic Sea and food and wine (or soft drinks, water or beer)! Probably the best bargain in Italy. And the owner, Fabio, is wonderful! Pleasant, helpful and completely attentive to everyone’s needs. I have some mobility issues and he handled my problems with grace and care. If I was near Numana (Ancona) I would be a steady customer. I plan to, hopefully, go again. we had a wonderful time!!

The most beautiful day out with the private sailing with Fabio. We left Numana in the morning and sauntered up the coast, and then caught the wind to sail back to port. There were 4 in our party and it was a peaceful and informative trip. A special family boat with much history to him and his family, which made you feel so welcome, almost as a friend! The lunch was local products and accompanied with local wine or beer as you preferred. I would not hesitate in recommending this as a small and intimate trip for a group of 4

Neither my friend nor I had ever spent time on the Adriatic side of Italy, and I thought being on the water would be part of an excellent introduction. I have never been more right. Communication was excellent from start to finish. Captain Fabio speaks perfect English and is a genial and generous host on a boat that has been in his family for decades.
Somehow the day we reserved was between storms, so we met Fabio at the marina following his excellent instructions, and for three hours we lived another life, rich with family history and stories of the coastline from Numana to Ancora. There was no wind that day, but we still enjoyed traveling along the coast on the classic sailboat, taking a dip and eating lunch in an beautiful setting in perfect company.
If you are thinking about booking the trip, book it!
Bonus tip: After taking a little trip up to nearby the National park (unfortunately closed, but with hiking trailheads visible from the road), we found our way to the Ristorante Le Torri. Fantastic view, skilled staff and incredible food. Do that, too!

Great experience!
We enjoyed the trip. By far we had the most elegant sailingboat.
Fabio is discrete, kind and friendly.
He gave information during the trip.
The place where we could swim was nice and calm, not crowdy even in high season.
The lunch was perfect.
We recommend this trip to everybody who can enjoy calmth and beauty

Hello,
We (2 Person) are interested in your boot trip.
Before we will book, I have some questions .
- How long does the tour going?
- Is there any parking place for my car?
- For what does the 1h stands for in your description, do you mean we stay there for 1h or we drive there in 1h?
Best regards.
Written 10 August 2020
The tour lasts about 3.5 hours. Parking can be tricky, especially in high season. I recommend giving yourself at least 30 minutes to find parking near the port. The description is approximate: there is no fixed tour, being a private tour you'll decide what to do. If you want to stop at the nearest beach and spend all your time there we can do that. If you want to go out towards the sea and sail, we can do that. Generally, there's a 1:45 hour phase of heading towards Portonovo and then back to the place where I drop the anchor, followed by an 1:15 to swim and eat, and other 30 minutes to head back.
