The location, Locorittondo, is a beautiful town and we cooked in a small courtyard of a Trulli under a tree. Our host, Gio, is great company & very attentive. Chef, Lou, guided us through various fun dishes….which tasted wonderful and went well with the wine! Lunch in the shade of a tree enjoying new friends (including Arron and Jack our new 4 legged friends), great food and wine was a great day out. Thank you Gio and team

We booked a driver for several days of our Puglia tour and got so much more than expected! Not only a wonderful, fantastico, driver Flavio but a lovely and interesting assistant guide, Nicola, for 1 1/2 days. And unexpected and delightful visits to towns we did not know of, many laughs as we 3 or 4 negotiated language hurdles - such fun learning More Italian and teaching more English - hilariously in both cases. Also unexpected but certainly welcomed was help with our luggage. A daunting adventure for two “mature” women who forget we are not 25 anymore and to whom the stairs of Italy seem far steeper, narrower and more impossible than they once did! We ended up up booking an additional day and so glad we did. Flavio is a funny, charming man and a very good driver. Not to mention his ability to negotiate parking and navigating and finding good and “authentic” and very quality restaurants and caffè stops and providing us varied and Italian experiences. We highly recommend Giovanni’s business, his expertise, and his great employees. As above - Fantastico!

we booked a day car with driver for the route Bari-Matera-Alberobello- Bari. fantastic drive, great price offer and it helped you a lot not having to deal with hassle of local public transport. Fast response, on time and reliable. I can really recommend! Thanks Giovanni!

We just returned from our 5 week European trip, including 8 days in Puglia. We chose Ostuni for our base but used Green Italy tours for one of our day trips to explore Puglia. I cannot express how wonderful Giovanni and Flavio were. They were both thoughtful, considerate, knowledgeable and accommodating. They provided us with bottle of water throughout the day and answers any questions we had. They were also fun and kind hearted people! We visited Locorotondo, Alberobello and Matera all in one day but we did not feel rushed at all. Giovanni even added on Cisternino in the day as another lovely town to visit. Fabio recommended a restaurant for dinner on Matera and even took care of the reservation for us. Giovanni even helped us out with picking up our delayed baggage from the airport a couple of days later. So incredibly kind! Highly recommend their service and we will definitely be using them again on our next visit!!!

We stayed in Ostuni as a base to explore Puglia but didn't have a car. We booked Green Island Tours to visit Locorotondo, Alberobello, and Matera. Gio was great with communication beforehand and offered options of prepayment or pay on the day. The car was very comfortable and we were offered water throughout the day. He was flexible and accommodating with our interests and how much time we spent in each place. He even added a visit to Cisternino on the way! Gio and his team went above and beyond for my sisters and I. Flavio recommended a restaurant for dinner in Matera and even made the reservation for us. We mentioned that our luggage hadn't arrived yet (lost in Rome!) and Gio offered to pick it up for us from the airport when it did. I can't speak highly enough of Green Island Tours and will be using them again when we go back to Puglia!

We feel that we owe Trip Advisor a favor to return by writing this post. When we travel , especially to Europe,we always use other fellow travelers reviews to plan our accommodations and itinerary, but never wrote any ourselves. Green Italy Tours was that good that we feel it’s time to contribute to Trip Advisor bank of information. We just returned from our two and a half weeks Italian voyage, including 5 days in Puglia. We choose Ostuni for our base and hotel recommended Green Italy tours for one of our day trips around the area. We are so glad they did! We ended up asking to customize that trip which Giovanni ,the owner ,perfectly organized for us. Maria and Valentin were our tour operators and not only knowledgeable and accommodating also fun and just good hearted people they are! We visited Polignano a mare , Monopoli , Locoratondo and Alberobello. With their help we were introduced to all the highlights of those places , had drinks, lunch and different kind of small bites of amazing food, that only can be found with knowledge of local people. They also do airport transfers. Highly recommend.

Gio, Maria and Valentin were knowledgeable, flexible and fun tour guides. We were with a group and they flexed the agenda to accommodate everyone’s interests. They quickly put together an agenda and showed us lots of unique hidden gems.

This was my first cooking class in Italy so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was traveling with my daughter and we are both cooks. Gio was so warm and accommodating. I even had to change the date of my original booking and he helped me work it out, even encouraging me to come on a day that he thought would be more interesting for me and my daughter. I can’t say enough about what a wonderful an afternoon it was. We learned how to cook many dishes, but more important was the company and the wonderful meal we shared outdoors at this beautiful villa. the whole team was warm, inviting, generous and yet very skilled and inclusive. I am looking forward to more classes with Gio when I get back to Italy which will be soon I hope.

Giovanni and his team created a wonderful experience for my clients on retreat in Puglia. Learning to make pasta by hand and then being served the most delicious lunch was a highlight. More so the way Giovanni took care of us was so personal, we got an authentic Italian experience with a local Italian! He made us all feel very at home , this added value he especially for my American clients who were visiting Puglia for the first time. I will be hiring Green Italy Tours for future retreats knowing I can trust the level of care and connection on offer. An insiders experience of Puglia, what more to ask for!

Green Italy were outstanding in their organisation and attention to detail. The tailor made tour for a group of 6 friends, with particular interest in wine tasting and architecture, exceeded our expectations We highly recommend this organisation

We arranged two separate tours with Green Italy, one with Giovanni the other with Valantina. Both tours were fantastic and both guides very informative, friendly and accommodating. Would thoroughly recommend and would use them again should we ever return to Puglia. Anyone visiting the area should not miss out on Matera, truly magical and amazing and you should take Valantina as she knows a great restaurant to have lunch (See photo).

If I could rate higher I would. What a FANTASTIC experience and the highlight to my Puglia vacation. Gracious hosts at an authentic working farm. Very well organized and you feel as though you are learning/dining with family. Do not hesitate to book this experience. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend! Best meal I’ve ever had in any part of Italy! We cannot recommend Giovanni and his team enough for their incredible on our recent trip to Puglia. Ostuni and surrounding areas can be difficult to navigate at times but Gio and his team make it a lot easier. We were in town for a wedding so needed transport at some awkward times but this was never too much trouble. We had a great full day Salento Wine Tour with Valentina which we would highly recommend if you are looking to explore different areas of Puglia and sample he local wines. Our lunch in Gallipoli was one of the best meals we have had - unbelievably fresh local Seafood.

This was one of the BEST EVER tours we've done on all of Travels...!!!! Valentina was the most AMAZING Local Advisor and made this magical trip even more amazing....She has so much knowledge of the region and has the best personality. We had such a laugh on this tour and as it was just me and my husband with Valentina it made the day such good fun as it felt like 3 friends on a day out...!!! We got to visit Cisternino which has amazing views and a cute little square, Alberobello where we walked through the Trulli and visited the Trulli Church which was just as amazing as we'd hoped it would be. We also visited Polignano a Mare where we had the "caffè speciale" (Gelato, a Secret Liquor and Lemon Rind - Just try it You'll Love It) and a Gelato of course..!! We had a walk around and a watch the crazy people jumping from the rocks into the Sea which was a lovely end to our day trip. Valentina also gave us some recommendations on what to do in a remaining few days in Puglia so we also got to visit Monopoli and sample a delicious Octopus burger. Green Italy tours are professional and their guides aim to please their clients, going above and beyond to ensure that a great day is had by all. Giovanni and Maria make a great team and organised an unexpected boat trip out to the blue grottos of Castro which included a dip in the sea for those who wanted to swim in the Adriatic Sea. This was followed by a beautiful seafood lunch (feast), in a beautiful restaurant overlooking the sea. They were very knowledgeable but also so easy to get along with and nothing was too much trouble for them. We can’t recommend them highly enough and would not hesitate to use them again.
