- 308melissaa0 contributionsHighlight of our recent trip to London! (#ParsleyWillNeverBeTheSame)My family just got back from a week long multi-generational trip to London. The highlight of the trip was cooking with Simon and his wife Nikki. Such a unique experience to see Borough Market through Simon's eyes and then cooking with him was next level. My children, both of whom love to cook, were captivated learning what to do to make our delicious dinner. (They are expert parsley choppers now!) I recommend this experience to anyone looking to get an insider's perspective of the London restaurant scene and wants to learn some new skills.Written 27 November 2023
- 681braedanh0 contributionsBest Experience in a Long Time - Book Now!Simon and his wife were so friendly. My wife and I went to Europe for our honeymoon, and I couldn't have asked for a better host and experience. Simon was professional and knowledgable in all aspects of hosting, cooking and being a great friend. The market was amazing, and fun to grab a few ingredients that we would need for our meal. The train and travel from the market to his house was very easy. Everything that needed to be prepped beforehand, was ready for cooking, yet he still got us involved in chopping, cutting and tasting! I couldn't recommend a better experience - the time was great and truly missed already! We have new friends and some amazing stories forever now. Thanks Simon and NickiWritten 10 April 2023
- Desmondod10 contributionsFun London foodie experience.Host Simon DB is an experienced food professional full of great stories and foodie information. Started with a fun tour of Borough Market that is definitely worth a visit with lots of tasting treats. Then on to Simon’s characterful home where we met his charming wife Nikki and embarked on our cooking experience. Suffice to say some cooking was done, a wonderful meal emerged, conversation flowed with lots of wine and a great time was had by all. Highly recommended! Des & OlgaWritten 18 February 2022
- 697garrettf0 contributions10000% worth itDB was an incredibly fun and knowledgeable host. Very personable and funny. There was never a dull moment and he made us feel very comfortable and at home. Food was superb and came away feeling like we'd learned more than a few things. Would 100% recommend!! The only slight hiccup is that communication through TripAdvisor is not great. Better to contact Simon directly- much easier that way.Written 14 February 2022
- Annebo10570 contributionsSDB is hilarious and what a life he has led ... the duck breasts were melt in the mouthFrom start to finish, my Borough Market Tour with Simon DB was the best. It was fun, informative, I found delicious produce, including the most incredible sausages from Ginger Pig and the cooking experience was unique. It was like meeting up with an old friend and I'd do it again in a heart beat ... apologies for taking so long to post a review.Written 9 February 2022

- Al_enoo0 contributionsFirst class cooking experience with Simon in London; 5 stars ⭐️The cooking experience with Simon yesterday was just outstanding from start to finish. Simon is a gent, with a wealth of eclectic stories & quips from his fascinating life that add to the overall experience. His home is beautiful & quite frankly he couldn’t of done anymore than he did to make us welcome. Our visit was a birthday celebration & it went like clockwork; to be honest we could of happily stayed all evening which is a nod to how nice & welcoming Simon & his family are. If you want to learn/experience/taste authentic cooking with fabulous ingredients in a super setting with great company & entertaining ambience, Simon is your man!Written 27 November 2021
- Jennifer S0 contributionsWHAT AN EXTRAORDINARY EXPERIENCE!!Welcoming and hospitable Chef Simon offers an exciting, informative, and laughter filled day. London’s Borough Market – so much to see, hear, smell and taste and Simon expertly leads you through it all with stories and history. Then off to Chef’s cosy, welcoming kitchen, which is a gem. Ah-maazing food and wine - some of which was purchased during the tour of Borough Market. Simon guides and teaches with an ever ready smile and clear and easy to follow instructions. Once the meal was cooked it was served with lovely presentation on the beautifully laid table in the dining room. Our host’s attentiveness created the perfect atmosphere. The whole experience from start to finish was wonderful. I cannot recommend this tour or the charming Simon highly enough.Written 11 November 2021

- irenesV988LZ0 contributionsAmazing time with Simon. I really recommend it.Cooking and eating dinner with Simon was so amazing. I am nine years old and came with my family. The tour of the market was fantastic!!!! I really liked seeing Spice Mountain and Ted's Veggies. I didn't know what celeriac looked like until I went on this tour. It was weird looking but tasted really good with our dinner. After the tour we went back to Simon's house. His house was full of cool cookbooks. I learned how to chop parsley really really fine and how to marinate the shrimp. Yum! Also, I how to plate a meal. When I get home, I will make the dinner over again because it was so good. In addition, Simon made my mom feel really special on her birthday. I can't wait to come back to London to do it again!Written 12 October 2021

My best friend brought me this experience knowing im not that great at cooking lol We met the lovely simon at borough market where he gave us a tour with all the history of borough market, we then went back to Simons to cook up our meal which we paired with some beautiful wine. Simon is an amazing host, what an amazing human with so much knowledge! We had such a laugh and we definitely dunk to much in the end! lol I would fully recommend this to anyone who is a foodie and enjoys a nice glass of wine (or any drink of your choice) the day went so quickly & i would do it all over again! - AJ-01020 contributionsLovely day of food and drink, with a great host! What a fab experience. My boyfriend bought this as a Christmas present, both being food lovers it was the perfect day out! We met Simon outside Borough Market, he gave a great insight in to elements of the market I had never considered, let us know the best places to get certain ingredients! Then a short train ride back to Simon’s home, a lovey house opposite the station tucked away, straight on to the first bottle of wine as we helped prep the starter, a lot of the main bits of the dishes were already prepared by Simon which is was fab as otherwise we’d have been there all afternoon preparing it all! He then talked us through and demoed some prep skills! The prawns were delicious, the duck was tasty, polished off with a fruit crumble and some more wine! A fantastic afternoon, it felt like we were at a friends opposed to being in someone’s house, I’m pretty sure we over ran the time of the session as we were having so much fun!Written 12 April 2020
- swimtam990 contributionsMost Memorable ExperienceThis was an amazing experience for everyone in our group...adults and teens! We learned, we laughed, we ate great food, we enjoyed every minute! Simon and Sammy were great hosts and made us feel right at home!Written 9 January 2020
- Dja400 contributionsSurprise Birthday PresentMy wife bought this for me as a surprise birthday present. As we arrived at Borough Market to meet Simon at a pre arranged rendezvous point, I had no idea what to expect. Immediately Simon put us at ease, explained the schedule for the day and started our guided tour of the fascinating market. We spent probably a couple of hours there learning fascinating information about the market, the buildings, the history and of course the variety of outlets to look at. Thereafter we travelled with Simon to his characterful home where he had already prepared his well equipped kitchen with the food and programme for the rest of the day, culminating in the consumption of the fruits of his and our labour as the afternoon unfolded. We were encouraged by Simon to assist throughout and my naivety of such an experience was quickly alleviated by Simon’s professional, personable and clear explanations of each and every stage. By the time we sat down to eat with Simon we lost complete appreciation of how long we had been with him and the food was truly delicious. This was an original innovative and highly motivational experience in the presence of a true expert. It was wonderful not to be in ‘a class’ but just Simon, my wife and I , plus brief encounters with Simon’s equally personable wife, because after all we were in their home. I cannot recommend this experience and value for money highly enough. Thank you Simon !Written 6 November 2019

How can I be sure to have a vegetarian rather than meat experience?
The smell of meat cooking is really off putting so would want to be cooking alongside veggies
