What to expect
Join us on a unique combination of Rødne’s 2-hour fjord cruise and Outdoorlife Norway’s Preikestolen Hike. Cruise through the Lysefjord, experience Norway’s crisp, cool mountain air, and feast your eyes on the imposing cliff, which hangs 604 meters above the Lysefjord, from below. Then enjoy an 5-hour guided hike on trails that were recently upgraded by Nepalese Sherpas. While standing atop Preikestolen, witness the magic of the season’s shifting colors and some of the most spectacular views Norway has to offer. On your way down the trail, you’ll be facing Stavanger and the north sea. You’ll be able to watch as the sun sets over the horizon, sometimes illuminating the sky with vivid colors. Once darkness falls, your guide will provide you with headlamps to ensure that you safely navigate the last stretch of the trail. After a few last breathes of crisp mountain air, you’ll return as a group to Stavanger. During the drive, your guide will navigate through the world’s longest undersea road tunnel.

Incredible experience
Feb. 2020
I visited Stavanger in early Feb this year. Started with the flood cruise and then was picked up by outdoor life Norway. Although the day was rainy and it was foggy for most of trek. They never canceled the trip. My guide Salvatore hiked all the way up and down sharing some insights how to hike in the difficult conditions. I can vouch for the fact that after the hike you can get a completely different experience on a foggy day, don't let that can your trip. This company definitely deserves all the recognition for quality of service rendered.

Incredible, even in the off season!
This hike was very satisfying, and the guide Sal was very supportive!! I struggled in the very beginning, but he pulled me aside and told me that he could tell that I could do it. He gave us all advice on the best hiking techniques, and it helped immensely. His expertise was above and beyond, and I don't believe I could have done the hike without his help. I have had guides before that are encouraging, but Sal was very interactive and gave personalized advice. Very good at including the entire group. Would love to go back again and highly recommend.

Sunset Hike - Best Experience
Dec. 2019
We had planned the trek to Pulpit rock on 30th Dec. A good thing to be remembered before the new year eve.. 😊
Started with the Fjord cruise - it was relaxing and beautiful when the cruise sailed through the fjords. Even with rain we enjoyed the most when the cruise sailed near the waterfalls. Post the relaxing tour of 2 hours we met Ties - our professional guide. He kept us well informed about the weather, required equipment's if any, the whereabouts and he also took some amazing photos during the hike. It was really nice of him when he used the short breaks in between the hikes to explain us about the path, posts, rescue huts and nearby surrounding. We started our hike in rain but the entire experience was worth. The best part was walking down with headlights when there is no daylight and pitch dark. We were bit unlucky as on the top we couldn't have a good view as it was cloudy and visibility was low but never the less the sunset hike is something to be remembered forever. Really want to thank Ties - The Expert guide..👌 for ensuring our safety while we had such a great memorable experience with his company.
Will always recommend Ties and/or Outdoor Norway company for a hike tour in Norway.

Incredible day out with a lovely small company which deserves recognition and to gain more business
Dec. 2019 • Friends
A friend and I chose the all-day cruise and hike package and I will say it was an incredible and unforgettable experience.

The cruise through the Fjords was well managed, with lots of information about the area's geography and history coming through the speakers and exciting stop-off points at various locations including an amazing waterfall.

We met our tour guide - who was also our cameraman, having chosen to pay for the extra photography package - before the hike. He took us to the company cabin where I rented some walking boots and we said we'd prefer the more challenging off-path hiking route.

All I can say is it was a wonderful day. Our tour guide Erlend was full of knowledge and you could tell he was passionate about his job.

He took some great photos of us climbing Preikestolen and kept us safe while atop the summit, while providing some snacks and a hot drink too.

Views from the top of Preikestolen were indescribable. Such a vast fjord and barren, snow-topped peaks. It was a White Christmas for me after all as we hiked through the snowy rocky hills :)

I recommend this package to anyone. 5 stars.

Unique experience
Dec. 2019
After a relaxed comfortable cruise trip, which included great views, a lot of waterfalls (the crew even filled up a bucket to taste the water) and the preikestolen mystical up rise from the water, we climbed up to the preikestolen. The weather was grey, rainy and cold, but we were prepared for that. Others who weren't could rent jackets, pants etc. The hike was amazing! Most of the way up was flooded and we had no view do to the thick clouds.. however the experience was great. Ties, our excellent enthousiastic guide, told us about the surroundings and Norway itself. We hiked back in the dark with headlamps, what an experience! For short, we loved it as experienced hikers. With the high quality pictures taken by the guide we can relive it whenever we want :) Definitely an unique experience!

A must do activity! Excellent hike and guide
Nov. 2019
We did the hike up to Preikestolen with the Fjord cruise beforehand. It was amazing. Erlend was a great guide and host. Knowledgable about the area, tooks us to some great spots for photos and tailored the hike to our abiltites and our needs. Would 100% recommend to do this activity. The boat ride beforehand was very worth it too as you got to see the fjord from a different perspective. Walking down with the head torches was also a great experience, and going up a little later avioded the crowds.

Perfect hike
Jul. 2019 • Solo
It was a great experience, although I had to begin early for obvious reasons, the experience was totally worth, had luck with the weather and with our guide who gave his best so we could all enjoy one of the best landscapes I have ever seen. Don’t hesitate to try Preikestolen during sunrise, you will get the best view of the rock and you will avoid all the people. When we were coming down we could see all the people coming up so it was perfect timing to avoid the crowds

Unbelievably amazing!
The guided walk up let’s you go at your own pace with plenty of opportunities for breaks and snaps. Hilda was very knowledgable and brought her Alaskan husky for the walk too which made the walk even more fun and adventurous! Tricky walk in patches with the ice, but mostly fine. Views from Preikestolen are incredible, we’ll never forget the experience which has to go down as one of the greatest walks you’ll ever do. Tak fur turen!

Unforgettable
Mar. 2019 • Solo
Our cruise and hike package to Preikestolen was absolutely fantastic. The two guides and Molli the husky were knowledgeable and friendly - I knew I was in safe hands - and as someone travelling by myself it was ideal. The cruise part was good, but the real adventure was in the hike which takes about 8 hours all together. There didn't seem to be many companies offering the trip at this time of year but it won't be just the end view that you remember - the entire trip was excellent and very well organised. Here's to Kjerag next time I visit!

Preikestolen hike
I took part in the Preikestolen hike and fjord cruise in early February.
The fjord cruise was great despite not being able to go our original route due to ice blocking the fjord. This didn’t cut the trip short at all and we still were out on the water for all the time we were meant to be.
I was the only person on the cruise to take part in the hike to Preikestolen, and I really think everyone else missed out.
My guide, Erlend, was very friendly and knowledgable about the local area and told me lots cool things before we even got to the hike.
I’d arranged to hire boots from Outdoorlife Norway. This was easy to do and Erlend had them waiting for me. They fit well and were comfortable for the duration of the hike.
As we were the only two people hiking in our group it was easy to stop and take pictures whenever, but Erlend was so accommodating I don’t think this would be an issue in a larger group. As a keen, (and good), photographer he was also happy to stop and take pictures along the route, which I appreciated.
We didn’t meet many hikers on our route and had the rock to ourselves when we arrived at the top, which was excellent.
I’d recommend this tour to anyone. Erlend was an excellent guide and we even went off route on our return leg to see views from some extra vantage points. Plus he went out of his way to save me waiting for a later ferry by running back to the hike start and collecting the car to pick me up en route for returning to Stavanger.
Altogether a highly enjoyable experience and a highlight of my time in Norway.
