- jillcA4841KN0 contributionsSo much fun!!!!Tobias, the leader was fabulous. He gave the 70 year old mom a little extra attention until she had it figured out. He provided a fun route and lots of interesting info about Bergen.Written 10 October 2023
- Adventure596234566880 contributionsGreat way to explore Bergen!Highlight of our trip to Bergen! We had an awesome time exploring Bergen by Segway. Regina made sure all of us would be safe, both the experienced and those in our group who had never ridden. She also took the time along the way to provide historical information and answered any questions we had. Highly recommend this tour!Written 28 September 2023
- zimmermann201520150 contributionsBest Segway tour everRegina was a very good guide. She did some training on the Segway first to make sure everybody is confident with the Segway. We had to go forward, backward park and get on again. A little Slalom course and up and down a ramp. As this was my first tour on the Segway, I appreciated the patience from Regina with everyone. The tour itself was marvellous. Regina was very knowledgeable about Bergen and it’s history. We took amazing pictures and had great fun on the tour. It was an excellent experience and I can highly recommend this Tour. Thanks againWritten 2 September 2023

- shannonallisonc3180 contributionsSuch a fun tour!!SO FUN! I convinced my friend that I was traveling with to book this Segway tour. She was a little nervous about driving one, but the tour guide Regina was great and gave super thorough instructions to each of us individually and then we had little mini-tests before heading out! It’s amazing how the Segway just becomes one with your body motions!! Regina gave us a wonderful tour, stopping to point out some historical sites, etc. She also did a good job ensuring we were all safe and sound in the streets of Bergen. Highly recommend this tour!!Written 14 August 2023

- Z2653YDjulieb0 contributionsOutstanding!Regina was our teacher and guide. She was amazingly patient and knowledgeable. She was able to teach/coach very nervous beginners to be able to zip around Bergen on the Segways. Her knowledge of Bergen, past and present is outstanding. Take her tour the first day you arrive and you will have all kinds of tips/ideas on what to see and do while you are there. Thank you Regina.Written 2 August 2023

- Dad6230 contributionsGreat way to see the city!My wife and I made a late booking before we arrived on a cruise ship. The Segway office was around 20 minutes’ walk (260 nok taxi ride) from the port. Took around 2 hours and 30 minutes from start to finish, including 30 minutes of training. We’re not particularly sporty or great with balance, but the Segway was easy to use and our guide very helpful and informative. Would definitely recommend.Written 24 July 2023

- 61anujm0 contributionsRecommended evening experience!Very nice trip in a group of only 4 people. Tobias was very good at teaching the Segway skills and very knowledgeable about the local areas. I was surprised by how much of the city we covered and, when I thought it was almost over we went high up mount Floyen and had an amazing view of the city and the sunset over Bergen. Recommended.Written 13 July 2023
- Alan C0 contributionsHighly recommendedFantastic tour, expertly instructed by Regina, took time to make sure everyone could safely use Segway which was surprisingly easy after a few minutes. Highly recommended.Written 12 July 2023
- Wanderer8301290 contributionsSensational views on SegwayWe chose to book an evening Segway tour of Bergen in early June 2023. Our knowledgeable guide, Tobias, took us up and down and all around Bergen. It was fabulous and fun. Tobias began by fitting us with helmets and a crash course in Segway driving. We practiced enough to have confidence on our tour. We had been on Segways before but it had been a few years so that made us feel very comfortable. He shared a lot of Bergen history along the way. We saw more of Bergen than we ever would have on our own. I would have liked to have stopped more often to admire the views but then we would not have had the time to cover as much ground. Tobias timed it right. It was worth every penny.Written 4 July 2023

Overall, I thought this was only an average tour. All of the sites that our tour went to were easily walkabe from the main harbor-front area and I felt like rather than seeing more (since we were on motorized vehicles vs walking), we actually ended up seeing less than the tour description on the website included. The first 30 minutes of the tour time is taken up with training, which is obviously necessary, but that doesn't leave much time to get around to the sites. The description on the website mentioned that the tour would visit Kalfarveien and Fjellveien (for views over the city), but we didn't visit either of these areas on our tour. I can't imagine our group took any more time with training than a typical group, so I feel like ample time is not given to cover the sites mentioned. This tour should be 2.5 or 3 hours which would allow more time to complete the listed itinerary as well as take photos, etc. Overall, it was a fun/different experience but in terms of seeing Bergen, $80+/pp for two hours is a bit steep considering we didn't make it to the further sites listed in the tour description.

We had a rainy but perfect segway tour in Bergen. Our guide, Regina, was brilliant and told us everything, not only about the history of bergen but also about the norwegian life nowadays. We highly recommend this segway tour, as it gives you a great overview of the city and you get to see places where a sightseeing bus would never get.

The Segways are fun, but the tour was very poor. The reason this review gets 2 stars is because the Segways are fun and an easy way to get around, but the tour and guide we had were terrible.
I have done lots of Segway tours around the world as they are the most enjoyable way to cover a lot of distance and to get into places that other tours can't. This one was the worst of all of them by a long shot.
The guide didn't know how to teach "how to ride a Segway" to people who hadn't been on one before, this led to a couple of crashes and one person was injured.
The tour was "Bergen best views" and the guide didn't really have a plan/structure on what to see. At the very beginning he literally says "soooo, what would you like to see?"
We went to literally 4 stops, the old fire station on the hill (this had a nice view), the train station and 2 statues in the city. That was it.
The short story is that you would be better to hire one of the colourful scooters you see around the place, or get on the hop on hop off bus, and save yourself A LOT money.
I don't know how this is the number 1 tour in Bergen, unless it is a tour of wasting your time and money.
I don't recommend the tour!

I had a wonderful time and experience on this Segway tour. I had never tried a Segway before and was a bit nervous but I had a wonderful trainer and guide in Regina. Thank you for the tour, Regina.
I would highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a good experience as you cover a lot of ground and actually get to see a lot of the city.

Everyone should do this tour when you arrive in Bergen. I was with my husband and 3 children (in early 20’s) plus a friend and her daughters (also 20’s) and we all absolutely loved every minute of our tour. Regina was brilliant at showing us all how the segways worked, they are very easy to manage and so much fun. We then took off around Bergen, seeing so much of the city - we couldn’t believe how much ground we covered. It did rain a bit but we were all supplied with a rain poncho and it honestly did not spoil the experience at all. Regina is a really experienced, professional, fabulous, patient and lovely guide. She knows everything you need to know about the city and we all agreed it was one of the highlights of our whole trip.

We decided on very short notice to book this trip despite the uncertain weather. I was an excellent idea actually! The guide took us to many places around the town and provided explanations. This is a great way to discover the city and rain ponchos were provided to make it a great experience despite some heavy rain. We highly recommend this activity in Bergen!

Regina was a great guide - she taught our group how to work the Segways patiently and thoroughly, seemed to have eyes in the back of her head making sure everyone was safe, and had knowledge of the points along the way. Segway was easy to learn. We were only in Bergen for the weekend so the Segways helped us cover WAY more ground than we could have on foot and we got to go to places we couldn't have in a car. We went on the 8pm tour on Saturday, May 6 and it was still very light outside so we had the full day to walk around the market and do the Fjords boat tour. This was a great thing to do at night. Not many places in the world you can do a daylight Segway tour at 10pm! Very cool. Bring your gloves - exposed hands got cold in early May.

Just ok. We spent more time training to ride than on the actual tour because a few in the group struggled. After 1+ hours of preparation- We did travel throughout town but only 3 actual stops and 2 pauses to hear about the city. The city presents some obstacles to riding a Segway with many people, cobblestone, curbs so I would caution a first time rider.

Do not hesitate and book this tour for your first days in Bergen. No one in our group ride on Segway before, but our guide was extremely patient and helpful and taught us everything.
Views and places we saw was absolutely gorgeous and without this tour we wouldn't know about them.
Bergen is barrier-free city, so riding on Segway was easy even if I have handicap and I am using walking stick in my daily life while walking.

Will the price change?

I don't think it is that is expensive in that a bus tour of the city is not a lot less and this is much superior. Also I've gone on segway tour of Philadelphia and regular price was more but with discount I got, Philadelphia tour was not a lot less. I booked same day at tourist office because I think tour would be not pleasant in heavy rain and I heard it rains often in Bergen and it had rained heavy 2 days earlier. Light rain would be no problem. I don't know popularity of tour, but I think it also depends on when cruise ship is in port.

what is the typical group size for the Bergen Best view? what is the max number?
JoeEpstein
Stewartsville, NJ3 contributions
When I went there were 4 tourists an 1 leader. Leader said that was ideal. I would say it depends on the tourists. I'd say 8 would be a maximum assuming all the tourists are not particulary clumsy and are cooperative.

Is it appropriate for the handicapped
JoeEpstein
Stewartsville, NJ3 contributions
I would say generally it is not for handicapped. Main ability needed is to have some degree of balance on two feet and navigate similar to being on a bicycle.
