Awful communcation and last-minute cancellation by tour operator
Oct. 2021
Booked this food tour for an Oslo weekend trip and had an awful experience. They charged my credit card and told that there will be an order confirmation with tour details etc. However, neither a confirmation nor a cancellation arrived and there was also no reaction to my e-mail the day before the planned tour. We were waiting until the morning of the tour day when I called them and got a sleepy guy on the phone who told he will check. Some minutes later I received an unfriendly email that the tour was cancelled due to low number of bookings. While I fully understand that a tour operator needs a certain number of participants, I expect a proactive communication and fair cancellation policies on both sides. It is unacceptable that I as a client get charged upfront (while I dont have a cancellation right myself) and get a last-minute cancellation only after I asked several times if the tour will happen or not.

nice tour but overpriced
Sep. 2019
I liked the tour, we had a very good guide, but according to me a bit overpriced. The quality of the food was not very good, it's a food tour but not at all of a high culinary level.

A great way an spend an afternoon in Oslo
Jun. 2019 • Couples
Thank you Ivana for showing us your adopted city. Interesting perspective on Norwegian cuisine, a variety of stops and a great introduction to both Oslo's food scene and the city itself. Unhurried and patient, Ivana is a brilliant guide with sense of humour who takes the time to make the afternoon fun. Highly recommended.

Guide was a no show!
Jul. 2018 • Couples
We booked this food tour a week in advance of our visit to Oslo (mid-July 2018). We received confirmation yet no-one showed up. We visited a few of the gourmet food shops in the square where we were supposed to meet our guide, hoping to get information. None of the businesses in the square had ever heard of a food tour. I did not receive a call, text or email letting me know that it was cancelled or that something had come up for the guide (realize that that can happen). No-one replied to my email inquiry as to what happened yet our money was refunded. Odd and unprofessional.

Hello Stephanie. I can only understand your frustration about this horrible incident. This never happens and we have taken care of the situation. Please accept our apologies. This should have never happen, and it will not happen again. Once again, our biggest apologies. We hope you had a good stay in Oslo. Best Regards

Best of what Norway has to offer - Food & Culture
Apr. 2018 • Couples
For me, this is both a food and culture tour. We learned about Bunad dresses, Norway's quickly evolving economy and the challenges it faces becoming integrated with the rest of the world. We tasted the unusual for US travelers like brown cheese, elk, reindeer and whale and then we had more comforting tastes like pizza, waffles and beer. We strolled through funky parts of town and engaged in interesting conversations with the other tour goers.
The guide was very interested in our feedback and wanted to make sure that our expectations were met. I think Oslo is improving its foodie scene; however, there are a limited number of colors in its pallet to chose from. This tour takes you on the best of the best. The tour guide set us up for some amazing restaurants later in our trip that included seafood, Peruvian and French.

Excellent food tour of Oslo
Jul. 2017 • Solo
I wasn't familiar with Oslo before taking this tour but it was a great introduction. Our guide Sara knows all about the city and Norwegian food. We were able to try local treats like whale, shark, and brown cheese as well as Norwegian bread, cheese, and chocolate. Sara was great at giving suggestions about other things to do in Oslo as well. Highly recommended!

Tastes and suites of Oslo

Our guide was very knowledgeable, and showed us a great sampling of food, beer, and sites. No better way to get your bearings in Oslo. Definitely do this tour at the beginning of your stay and get tips on where to eat during the rest of your Oslo trip!

We would recommend this tour to all food lovers! We have visited a lot of interesting places, learned a bit of the Oslo history and tasted a lot of good food and beer from micro breweries. Highly recommended!

Amazing taste of Oslo
Mar. 2016 • Couples
Really loved our tour. Our guide was super knowledgeable and enthusiastic and gave us some great tips for the rest of our stay (including a 'cheap' bar which is a real find in Oslo!)

The food was excellent. I would not necessarily have been brave enough to try it all on my own but was glad I did on this tour.

Do this tour at an early stage during your trip and you'll be set up for the entire time you're in Oslo.

Thanks for the great experience!
