Very nice activity!
I’d recommend you to do this activity. The guides are nice (we had Linda and I don’t remember the other girl’s name, I’m sorry!). They both speak English and they’re always happy to repeat the explanations they give about the places you’re gonna see. It’s very nice because you don’t really have to wait a lot for the next ferry. They give you a tour of each island, showing the essentials and they make you walk around the islands in areas you may have not ventured if you were alone. And when the tour of an island is over, you hop onto the next ferry very fast. It’s well organised. You then stop to eat onto the last island. You can swim if you want to. Or just eat on the beach. Don’t forget to wear confortables shoes and clothes... because it’s a walking activity. Don’t wear heels..

Merci Christelle. I am just back from a tour of the islands today and it sure is a lovely way to spend an afternoon. It is great you appreciated how well organized the tour is, as we really strive to have it run smoothly so the customers can see as much of each island as possible. Thanks for the good advice about comfortable shoes and clothing -- potential customers will find that useful. Je vous en remercie. Cordialement, Curtis

Customer service was brilliant, swapped me onto another tour with no fuss when I realised my fitness level want up to the ‘Forest to Fjord’ tour. Josh was our tour guide and he was very friendly and knowledgeable. The island are picture perfect and you take in the best bits. Would recommend this tour for anyone visiting Oslo.

Highly Recommended!
We joined this trip on a very hot and sunny day and it was absolutely beautiful! Such a great way to see the island. Martin was very entertaining and knowledgeable! I would recommend taking lunch with you though, as there wasn’t much available at the small shop on the island. Lots of walking, so wear comfy shoes, and definitely take your swimming stuff to jump into the fjord! What an experience, so refreshing!

Great guide, picturesque scenes!
Aug. 2019
My family and I (a group of 5 people in total) went on this tour while in Oslo. Our guide Niamh was friendly and knowledgeable about all the sights we saw and about the history of Oslo. We met at the Viking Biking Shop as stipulated on the tickets we purchased from Trip Advisor and purchased our 24hr public transport passes to use on the ferries during the tour from the shop itself (as they are not included in the tour as stated on the ticket and website). We were a group of 14 tourists in total, a nice number for the purposes of the tour. We visited three islands in total. The first was Hovedøya (5 mins ferry ride from Oslo) where we saw the remains of a quaint monastery from the Middle Ages and spectacular views. We then visited Bleikøya (5 mins ferry from Hovedøya) where we walked to a small bay, enjoyed incredible scenery and even stood in the area that is thought to have inspired Edvard Much to paint 'The Scream'! Our last island, Lindøya (5 mins ferry from Bleikøya) was perhaps the most scenic. We first stopped at a little shop where we picked up some snacks and drinks to make our own picnic and enjoyed our lunch on picnic benches outside the shop itself. We then proceeded to an incredible view point overlooking a beautiful anchoring point for boats and incredible coloured houses. Bathrooms were present and clean on all the islands we visited. The ferry ride back to Oslo took around 20mins. The ride was peaceful and scenic and we got to sit on the top floor of the boat to enjoy the sun!

Must do if you are in Oslo for a couple of days only!
Jul. 2019
I'm from Spain, two times Ive been in Oslo and two times I have been guided by Martin. We took the islands tour around and the visit was wonderful. Really nice views plus the pleasure of knowing what you are actually enjoying with a lot of curious facts. Everything was fine, specially Martin as a guide with a lot of internet humor made my day! He was super kind when he wanted to carry our heavy bags despite was not necessary! The island tours is specially recommended for taking some Nature photography around Oslo if you are not going further. I also recommended my friends to do this route while visiting Oslo

Great Afternoon to See Oslo from Its Islands
The Viking Hiking Island Nature walk is a great way to learn about the culture and lifestyle of the Norwegian people. There is a mix of hiking and several ferry rides to various islands inside the Oslo fjord. We were fortunate to have Viking Hiking’s founder, Curtis, and his colleague, Nino, serve as our guides. Nino is originally from New Jersey but has lived in Norway for well over a decade and has personally given more than 1500 tours. He is as engaging and enthusiastic as a guide just starting out, yet his experience is invaluable — including providing tips about restaurants and other activities. The tour includes visits to an old monk village that dates to the time of the Vikings. We also visit an island vacation spot steeped in Norwegian “cabin culture” where the locals celebrate living in the “free air” of the wonderful Norwegian outdoors. We witness the spot where famed artist Edvard Munch painted his famous “Scream.” Even on a rainy day, this tour is well worth the time and cost to see a real side of life in Norway.

Island hopping and swimming in Oslo
Aug. 2019
Well organised - a mixture of insightful and amusing stories, history and a good few hours wandering through the flörd. The group was very international - one of the guides is from London and the group was a mixture of Swedes, Austrians, Americans and so on. The swimming option isn't compulsory - but was a good opportunity. If you forget your travel card - you will need at least a one day one which is 125NOK - then you can get one at the start. Some people seemed to have missed this requirement to pay for the ferries. Is it worth it? If you want to experience a little of what the Norwegians call "friluftsliv" then totally ... it also makes a change from the usual museum visits. Thanks to both of the guides.

Walk through some island
Jul. 2019
Gives Romiig and Niamh (not sure of spelling) were informative and extremely nice. Went to three of the islands close to the city. It was a nice hike and the weather was perfect for walking—need to take good walking shoes. Traveled via a ferry to each of the islands. It was a nice visit to the islands but do not expect to see a lot of exciting sights. You can travel to the islands on your own but you miss out on the comments. It was worthwhile to take the tour.
