About the operator
- Freeeb9100Whale watchingAmazing day today, saw Humpbacks and Orcas. Yes the round trip takes the best part of a day but the crew are very engaging and provide so much information along with humour. A special surprise was seeing the Aurora on the way home. Thank you everyone a fantastic trip. Highly recommended.
- TedG123400Fun day on the water with disappointing end resultMixed feelings about this experience. On one hand the staff is absolutely amazing and their passion and consideration for the whales is great. However I was slightly disappointed in the end result. You essentially boat 3 hours to the destination, with absolutely breathtaking views along the way, and then 3 hours back (for us it was in the dark on the way back). We stayed to try and see whales for maybe 45min/1 hour at the most. It felt like not enough effort and time was put in to spot whales. We saw a couple humpbacks for ~10/15 minutes then started our way back to Tromso. Sadly didn’t see any Orcas despite other boats reporting they were in the area. I think it’s still a worthwhile experience but want people to know how little time you actually spend looking for whales. I still would do it again however in hopes to have better luck.
- JackStass00Excellent, fulfilling and sustainable whale watching tourThis silent whale watching tour was a wonderful opportunity to not only see the orcas, but also to take in the stunning fjords and mountains around Tromsø — all from a comfortable and well-appointed ship that had everything we needed to make the most of it. Giulia, Fred and the rest of the team were excellent and knowledgeable hosts who were excellent at giving us the best views of the whales. They also clearly cared deeply for the welfare of the animals and the sustainability of the entire endeavour. Thanks again!
- A2138YZdonnaf00Dec Whale watching TromsoI went on the silent watching your with my 12 year old daughter. The ship is beautiful and very quiet. The I side compartments are very warm and there is a small bar to get food and drink both hot and cold. We pre booked the soup and I would highly recommend this, as it's served after you see the whales and a good way to warm up. It took around 4 hours to get to the whales and other boats. The ribs definitely get alot closer than our boat and the other larger boats. We saw 3 types of whales but only one got near the ship for a photo. We saw lots of orcas and they got about 40-50 metres from the boat. You stay watching whales for around 1.5 hours ish then head back. The staff were all very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this trip but wrap up warm when you go outside
- ellenb00100A great way to spend an eveningWe’ve been to a few Scandinavian countries in the past and know how hit-and-miss the northern lights can be! We booked the dinner cruise as a preferable way to enjoy an evening in the warm rather than freezing on a hill somewhere and not seeing anything (as we’d experienced before). We figured that even if the lights didn’t show, we’d have a nice evening with good food. Luckily they did appear, although I’m confident we’d have enjoyed our evening either way. Nice hearty food; very welcoming, friendly staff and a lovely clean, modern boat. Highly recommend!
- Skentelbery00Having a whale of a timeA long but fabulous day. Saw 3 species of whale (humpback, fin & orca). Comfortable vessel - great team of knowledgeable staff - friendly & good at teaching us more about the area & the wildlife without it feeling like a lecture.
- U9122NHhelenc00Silent whale tour experienceGreat trip, very comfortable boat with good amenities, very respectful to the whales not to chase them or surround them. The silent boat made the experience very peaceful when you got out to where the whales were so you could observe them in their natural environment. Good information given and helpful staff. Only one issue is they had a machanical problem with one of the boats so gave options for people to rebook next day for 20% off or use another boat company. If you aren’t flexible with your dates then recommend turning up by 7.30 to secure a place on the boat you booked if they have issues. Would definitely recommend tho.
- Ntina_top00dissatisfiedNice view , snowed mountains but that’s it. We saw just the fins of the whales and we couldn’t approach them in order not to disturb them (that’s normal , but we expected a better experience with whales and a better view). Moreover it’s far away and on the way there is not something special. The ship is nice, modern. Too much money for this tour. I don’t recommend it.
- camilleandnigel00Spectacular scenery, informative talks and whalesThe best thing about this tour was the spectacular scenery throughout the 7 hours of the snow clad fjords and the excellent educational briefings which Fred delivered. While we did see a lot of whales they were all quite far away. The boats were incredibly comfortable and very well designed for the journey and the whale watching.
- Charleyevz00An incredible experience!Such an amazing experience! Take lots of layers as it gets very cold outside on the boat. We were lucky enough to see many orcas which was such an incredible moment. The crew were so nice and friendly and gave us lots of informative presentations which were great!
- L3752HJkellym00Beautiful tourThe tour is totally worth it. It is 8 hours and I totally recommend taking advantage and leaving the boat before the sighting. After the sighting it usually gets dark and there is a lot of wind. So try to make the most of the first 4 hours with photos and videos. I saw many comments that the boat did not get very close to the whales and that is why I hesitated whether to buy the tour or not, but it is not true, the boat approaches the area and several whales approached the boat. It would not be kind to the whales to hunt them in their habitat. I must also say that the boat is beautiful, it is absolutely beautiful, good seats and bathroom. The only thing would be that you have to arrive early to get good positions.
- nouit202300Refund !Disapointment as we only saw fins from the orcas, no humpack wales at all. Soups that was included, was served at 13h30 with one piece of bread. I had to buy food beside to keep me fully feeded. At 2 pm only, the second round of soup. The second round you pay. That plus crying children all along made that trip not worthy. I think coffee (filtered) or tea should be offered or at least cheaper because it is the price of any restaurant. The explanations were not very synchronised with the screen presentation. It was a bit an easy presentation...
- Juanviajeros00Wow, once in a lifetime tourFabuloso Tour, more than what you expect, great crew, great scenery, lots of whales, northern lights, everything was great. Thanks Brim Tours
- nikunjs1000Amazing Experience in Natural Habitat of WhalesA fantastic tour organised by Brim to enjoy the whales in their natural habitat. The boat is fairly comfortable and heated. The route through the fjords is extremely picturesque and hard to take eyes off. The guide provides detailed information about the whales during the excursion. We saw a number of orca whales and they swam extremely close to our boat. We followed them for about an hour, while maintaining a safe distance so as not to disturb them. One of the drawbacks of the tour is that the food and drink options are very limited. Only vegetable soup is available for lunch. Sandwich and hot chocolates can be purchased in the mornings. Given the long duration of the tour, the operator should work on improving the food options on board. While there is enough space outside for everyone to stand at the edge of the boat and enjoy uninterrupted views of the whales, if you want a window seat, I recommend reaching the spot at least 30-40 minutes before the proposed start time of the tour.
- L2457HTruis00How not to love TromsoAmazing trip I had never thought I would enjoy such a lovely trip and after all my '' sea traumas '' which I can clearly say all faded away after this lovely journey. My first time to Norway and decided straight away to go to Tromso with the missus who convinced me on going on this trip, from the early cold morning to the strong seas and the sea sickness everything became better with all the environment made by all the Brim Explorer's crew, especially Fred who was always trying to break '' the cold ice '' of some guests and made this trip happening. Every member envolved did a great job I just cannot remember all the names besides Fred and I trust the captain Andreas. I truly had never thought I would be in so much love to Tromso and I felt so sad on this day, 20th November 2023 to sadly leave back to my daily routine. I look forward to visiting Tromso once again (who knows I might move there permanently) and I will definitely rebook again with those guys and hopefully they will still be in charge of all the operations. My best wishes and good success, Rui Sá and Catarina Teixeira👌🙏💪

We really enjoyed this mini cruise through the arctic fjords near Tromso. The instructions and meeting point provided upon booking were clear and Tromso isn’t such a big town so it wasn’t hard to find. The ship itself was delightful, with plenty of space to sit inside where it’s warm and walk around outside if you dress warm (we went in March). It’s a very quiet vessel and the water looked like a glass or mirror. Views were simply spectacular. The fish samples and narration of the journey were interesting and fun. Thank you!!

We stayed in a hotel near by the ship, in the morning no body gave us a call or text to coordinate where to meet or how. However, we managed to reach on time prior to their departure.
The trip was very amazing, it was a like a mix of biology class and amazing views.....I liked it.
The staff were very helpful, the were very talkative and offered to take pictures. The boat is clean and well maintained.
I'd say a free drink on board would have been a nice gesture specially with the price being paid is not low. However, it was mentioned that nothing is inclusive.
Overall I would definitely recommend it to any body.

We weren't sure a fjord cruise was for us, but we couldn't have been more wrong. It was a great experience that could be enjoyed by adults and children alike. The vessel was brilliant and cruised smoothly along the water (my to my seasick-prone wife's relief) with multiple great viewing areas both on deck and inside in the warm. The staff and facilities were great and the route was brilliant offering panoramic views of the beautiful Fjords. We were lucky enough to see some dolphins and porpoises which thrilled the kids. We were also treated to an underwater drone show and very informative and interesting staff. Price was great also (for Tromso in particular). Thoroughly recommended.

The boat is well designed with large uninterrupted glass windows so you have a great view wherever you're seated. Lovely to be comfortable in the warm but able to look out at the amazing scenery and to venture outside when you choose. Our guide (think his name was Fred) was brilliant and gave just the right amount of information- we picked up some interesting facts from him during the tour. An added plus was seeing some white beaked dolphins!!

An excellent excision with friendly & knowledgable guides. Good cakes & coffee on board to keep you warm along with blankets. Gorgeous scenery explored along the fjords, with great commentary, history & local legends to accompany the views.

THE BEST Norway Cruise. The Tromso: Arctic Fjord Cruise was the BEST boat tour, out of 4,we've completed in Norway. The crew was amazing! Thanks, Carl! You were personable and so knowledgeable!!
The catamaran was gorgeous. 360° clear clean windows in warm main deck. Views! Views! Views!! The windows were so clear you can take good pictures. All decks had several comfortable places to sit. The boat is electric and quiet. It travels at a good speed. Standing on outside decks (several), you can marvel at the sights without being windblown. We saw several dolphin groupings. Amazing creatures! The captain was in no hurry to move on. He lingered for our small group to snap multiple pictures and just watch them play and jump. This is our last cruise on our Norway vacation. This was by far our favorite!! Book and you'll know why! Highly recommend! Thank you Captain, Carl and Crew!

Well as we all know there’s nothing we can do about the weather and we were unfortunately not blessed when we went to Tromsø. However, we did have this tour booked and we still saw sea eagles and learned loads about the area and saw some spectacular fjords. The guide and his hospitality was fantastic. Plus, we also got a glimpse of the waters underneath us via the underwater drone.
