We had a great time at the Reindeer Camp. We could feed them and take photos with them. Unfortunately the meal was pretty simple and some things were not very tasty. The stories of the Sami were pretty interesting and the people were very friendly.
We did not do the sledding, because of the reviews we read before. They said that the sledding was pretty short (and way too expensive for that) and that's exactly what we were seeing.
Fortunately, we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights there. That definitely was the highlight of the evening.
In sum, it was a great experience (but a bit expensive).

After living in Norway for some years I finally managed to visit Tromsø and experience the life up here.
Seeing the reindeers and meeting Sami people was a unique experience and you should try it too. Tor-Andre was more than happy to share his Sami stories with us and teach us how to feel confortable among 300 lovely reindeers. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side but even without being able to see the Northern Lights we had an amazing time. I will return next year and take my picture with reindeers under the Northern Lights.

I was on that tour the 19th November and I had such a great time! I went alone and immediately I felt engaged with the guides.
They welcomed us with a brief explanation inside a Sami tent and then had some warm drinks before heading out to feed the reindeers. This was super interesting since there is hundreds of them and they come an ask you for food!

Later we had dinner which is a 3 course meal. Healthy, typical and delicious! There is a vegetarian option but I tried the reindeer stew ;)

The last part consists on the Sami culture where our Sami guide explained a lot about both reindeers, reindeer herding and the Sami people. It was quite a complete explanation and he complements it with some objects that you pass around.

I would definitely come back, thank you Peter, Tore Toran and Yosef <3

I've never talked to someone about reindeer for a solid 40 minutes while standing in the dark, cold rain before, much less an 18 year old girl, but our amazing Sami host Ilya (Illia?) spoke with such knowledge and passion about all things reindeer that it kept begging for more details.

The whole experience was fantastic. The guides were all very friendly, genuinely interested in the group's experience and attentive to our every need. Special mention to Ilya, who's endearing and natural passion for her heritage and culture really some through. Our bus driver Magne was hilarious. The hungry reindeer were very placid, even in (apparently!) very warm conditions. The food was really delicious, and the campfire smoky, cosy and warm.

Even though there was real cloud cover we were still lucky enough to get a brief glimpse of the northern lights, and our guide kept a look out on our behalf while Ilya regaled us with stories about Sami life.

There was a real sense throughout the whole evening that our custom was really appreciated as a means for the Sami to share their culture with the world and keep it alive. Our 18 year old super-guide's passion is testament to that.

Cannot recommend this highly enough as a wonderful Arctic evening.

This was such a beautiful activity. Feeding the reindeers was a lot of fun and if you are gentle, you can even pet them. Our guide, Irja, was beyond amazing, with a very nice sense of humor, from whom I learned a lot about her culture.
Don't be afraid to ask her questions and enganing in a conversation, she will gladly reply to you.
The food was delicious.
Special thanks to Irja for sharing with us.

My Wife and I both loved the experience and we eould recommend it to anyone. The attention from the staff is brilliant and unlike so manu others it is not all about giving you the absolute minimum and then shipping you off.
You keep getting reindeer feed until you want to stop. I think we both had at least 4 and then plenty of time for photos.
The food was excellent and again you were well looked after. I stopped after my third bowl!
Then the talk was brilliant, am honest chat and not a staged performance.
To top it off we witnessed the Northern Lights despite an overcast day.
Reindeers may not be as glamorous as Killer Whales or Snowmobiles but this trip is not to be missed.

I had an amazing time learning about the Reindeer & the Sami people. The food was delicious & comforting. The team of guide & cooks were informative & passionate. I had a fantastic night. I choose to take the sled ride and I loved it, could have stayed on the sled all night & been pulled around by the Reindeer, whilst I gazed at 'Lady Aurora' in awe..

Fantastic experience...

Would recommend this to everyone, we were lucky enough to see a fantastic Northern Lights display while we were there but the whole experience was a lovely introduction to the Sami culture and lifestyle. Both our driver and host were genuine and welcoming people. We fed the reindeer, learnt about Sami customs, clothes and song and had a lovely meal in the cosy candle lit lavuu (Sami tent). A magical night!

This was a great life experience! We did the reindeer camp dinner and were completely blown away by awesome it was - words can't really describe it. If you want a tldr; version - just go ahead and book it. You won't be disappointed.

Pick up was in the city center at 6pm by Peter, a really friendly dude who helped with setting up this whole experience (if you want a fun challenge, try to guess where he's from without asking him). Following a short 25 min drive, we were at the camp that consisted of several yurts. These were built by the same people who hosted us on the tour. Inside, the fire pit was roaring and provided a welcome buffer from the cold Nordic winter. After a brief introduction with Yoni the reindeer herder, we were given buckets of moss to feed the herd of 300 reindeers. A surprise was how friendly to people these animals were. Though they do get a bit aggressive with each other when it comes to feeding rights. While we were doing this, the sky was churning out some incredible auroras. We've been on the hunt for northern lights for previous two nights but this was the best yet. Swirls of dancing lights blanketed the entire sky. We were told it's a lucky bonus. Your experience may vary wildly. After the feeding the herd, we were invited into the cozy yurt where we had the 3 course meals. Food was simple but very fresh and delicious. The reindeer stew was the highlight. It was made by another Sami family who's now running the business of providing food to the camp. Post dinner, Yoni shared stories about the Sami people and culture. The best was his personal joik (a nomadic folk song of sorts). I won't go into details here but it was pretty touching.

Overall this was one of the best experiences on our Scandinavian trip. Peter and Yoni along with his family were super friendly. They made you feel comfortable as if you're visiting friends instead of being on a tour.

Chance to get up and personal with reindeer as they are brought down in the winter to feed. Also heard from the lovely Ann Marie about Sami life and as an added bonus, saw the northern lights. Had dinner in a really cosy hut. A lovely evening.
