It was a really wonderful experience. I highly recommend this company to anyone who chooses to observe the aurora borealis. Pleasant people who will take care of you from picking you up and bringing you to the hotel, refreshments under the stars with a fire to warm you up and very nice company, I believe that this was not the last meeting with this wonderful country. Thank you.

Communication was quick, open and easy, the bus picked us up right at our hotel and took us to the place from where we watched the sky with anticipation. Since the aurora borealis is unpredictable and comes in waves, our guide made our wait pleasant with local snacks (say yay! for gooseberry liqueur!), and we also had seats and a fire so that we wouldn't freeze. Recommendation: People really dress warm, the aurora borealis is not on call, it takes patience and hope in cold place. We felt good, safe and we were incredibly lucky to see the northern lights with our own eyes. Note: The camera sees the glow a little differently than the human eye, but even though it's not like the pictures on the internet, it's real and beautiful.

Everything was very good! The guide was experienced and knowledgeable and gave us a nice tour around Mo I Rana.

My guide Robert (the founder and owner of ExploRana) offered this tour as compensation after the kayak tour I had initially booked was cancelled due to illness. He went above and beyond for me, making the tour a private tour for just me (despite there normally being a minimum number of participants) at no additional cost. The guided tour to Svartisen is very interesting and beautiful, Robert told me a lot about the glacier, the mountains surrounding it and the history of geologists and the "glacier king", Karl Johan Vestermark, who monitored the advancement and movement of the glacier. Robert and his wife (who accompanied us on the tour) brought a home-made lunch (delicious scrambled eggs with ham and a tasty bread whose name I have forgotten), gave me a t-shirt and were just generally great and made the day really special :). The ticket for the boat ride over Svartisvatnet is included, it doesn't take long. The hike from the lake to the glacier leads through an interesting stone landscape. The glacier arm, Austerdalsisen, itself is impressive. Be prepared for a cold wind blowing up at the glacier and seek shelter in the little hut that was built there. The glacier makes its own weather. In total, a wonderful day with Robert and his wife.

I booked the tour on the same day at 18:00 oclock which is a bit late notice I guess. But it was available so I did it. I heard nothing from nobody until 17:59 and that when I called the number to check. The tour guide was injured and could not do it which is also ok but I would like to have been notified. He said that he send the cancellation but I got nothing. i said no problem feel better. The money was taken from my account and now nobody seems to know anything about my money and the cancellation. All in all an god awful experience.

Very poorly information about this place on the internet. We read somewhere that you might hop on a bout for a 20min boat trip to the glacier but unfortunately there was no boat traffic when we arrived. Since there was no boat traffic the road to the Svartisenkiosk was closed. Approximately 2km hike from the parking lot to the kiosk and another 10km from the kiosk to the waterfall and glacier. So be prepared for a approximately 20km hike, requires good shoes because the trails are a bit tricky at times. Beautiful hike through the forest and near the turquoise Svartisenvatnet. Many smaller waterfalls to fill up your water bottle. The waterfall and Svartisen glacier were totally worth the hike! It was very refreshing taking a swim in the Svartisenvatnet after a sweaty hike in +26 degrees. Would recommend, but come prepared since there might be no boat traffic nor guided tours!

It’s a must to do when you go to Mo I Rana! Even with the cold you can get warm with some coffee and snacks, and a little bonfire. The guide had incredible knowledge about the northern lights, and will try his best to make you see them. Very friendly and helpful!
