Unfortunately, our booking was rescheduled and then cancelled. We purchased a tour for the afternoon of 31 December. The guide contacted us a couple of days prior suggesting we change the date due to NYE and restaurant closures. Why did the site allow us to book this date/time if restaurants wouldn’t be available? We were able to reschedule (which is why I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1); however the morning of the tour, the guide cancelled due to “illness.” We were promised a full refund, which we received, but only after I contacted the company when we returned home. Proceed with caution when booking with this s company, at least in Vienna.

My wife and I visited Vienna recently and booked a food tour with Sandy of Withlocals. My wife's cousin, who is Austrian and lives in Vienna, joined us on our tour. I explained to Sandy in advance that we had been to Vienna several times before and had already been to the places that most new visitors want to see (e.g., Hotel Sacher, Demel, etc.). Instead, we wanted to visit establishments that feature Viennese and Austrian cuisine that tourists would not generally know about -- and Sandy gave us exactly what we wanted! We visited five or six different restaurants, cafes, bakeries, food stands, etc. that we would never have otherwise seen and enjoyed a wide variety of local dishes, both sweet and savory. Even my wife's cousin, who has lived in Vienna for many years, was impressed. If you want to book a really fun and interesting food tour in Vienna, I highly recommend Sandy and Withlocals!
