I came to the Leopold Museum with a very basic knowledge of Austrian art, I knew about Gustav Klimt of course, but not much more. In just two hours I not only learnt a few names or had a number of paintings explained to me, but thanks to my brilliant guide Julia I now have a very vivid picture of what was going on in art in Vienna. Julia really has a talent for making you see complexity without overloading you with any kind of technicalities. Highly recommended.

She doesn’t just explain the key elements of a painting; rather, she describes how the artist was influenced by older artists as well as current peers and how these influences manifest in a given painting. She also pointed out hidden elements and not-so-obvious themes in the paintings (and in the museums that contain the art works) that really enhanced our appreciation and understanding. In fact, Julia made me so excited about art that I’m actively thinking about enrolling in an art history class. If you treat yourself to an art tour with Julia, you will not be disappointed.

My husband and I learned so much about art, it’s history, what is art, why are some pieces of art valuable as well as many technical aspects about paintings in this short tour! I will visit art museums now with a completely different perspective. It broadened my understanding and appreciation of art!

The Leopold Museum has such a great collection, but we would never have understood or even been able to see it without Julia's excellent guidance. This tour was so much more than just information about artists and paintings. It was the most emotional, intelligent and witty encounter with art we have ever had.

This is one of Vienna's most famous art gallery. It houses tens of thousands of world-famous paintings, sculptures and other artefacts. Go and enjoy yourself thoroughly! And take at least half a day's time for it!

Experience an in-depth examination of the artwork by expressionist painter Egon Schiele with this private tour of the Leopold Museum in Vienna’s Museum Quarter guided by an art historian. Having no Austrian I was amazed at the aggression shown by the floor staff at the museum. The gentleman’s body language was offensive and he patrolled the floor which killed any joy to be had from the exhibits.Would I go again. Definitely not.!!
