          Perfect!
Great day trip to visit small Austrian towns and picturesque Hallstatt. Our guide Marco was outstanding, very attentive and polite. Truly enjoyed his enormous knowledge of Austrian history and geography! Highly recommend!!!

          Fabulous trip to Hallstatt
Zoltan was excellent & the trip was fabulous-dress for warmth if you go in winter. The lake stops were very pretty but Hallstatt was the best

          Enjoyable Day Trip
We recently took a day trip to Budapest, and it exceeded all my expectations! The itinerary was perfectly paced, allowing ample time to explore the city’s stunning landmarks. The lunch recommendation was spot-on, offering delicious local cuisine in a lovely setting—it was the perfect break in our day. Our tour guide was exceptional—extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the city’s history, culture, and hidden gems. Their insights truly enriched the experience. I highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to make the most of a day in Budapest!

A day well spent visiting a new capital city.
The tour guide/driver was punctual, polite and knowledgeable. The drive to Budapest was peppered with historical references. Once in the city of Buda, we received an excellent tour of the castle district and enjoyed a coffee at the oldest coffee house in the city. The Pest side of the river provided us with not only beautiful views of the city, but provided additional history of the founding of the city and ample time to do some personal touring.

Hoping for a good tour and ended up with a completely wonderful experience!
From the start, our driver/guide Belage (spelling?) was tremendous as he was friendly, accommodating, and informative. He doled out fun facts about Vienna, Austria, the Sound of Music and we even got some history lessons. Every stop was well coordinated and we had ample time at each one (although we would have like to have stayed at Sankt Gilgen longer since it was such a picturesque Alpine Village). At Salzburg, we met Maria, a local who was our guide through the town. She was a sweet lady who gave us great insights into the city, its history, and the Sound of Music. It is a long day, but definitely a tour that was well worth it!

          Amazing day trip to Prague!!
My favorite day trip was to Prague!! Such a beautiful city that I will definitely go back. Linda, our local guide had so much information to share and brought us around to see as much of the city as she could in our allotted time. She gave us lots of tips and was willing to help and answer any questions we asked. Our driver Balazs was so kind and also shared lots of wonderful history regarding Austria and the Czech Republic. I would definitely use this tour company again when I am back in Vienna and would highly recommend them to anyone!!

          Christmas Tour of Budapest
Our trip was fantastic, as was our guide Zultan, from Hungary. Did a great job showing us around and informing us of the history surrounding each location visited. Thank you!

          Day trip to Budapest
Wasn’t sure what to expect, our guide Marcus was awesome. Knew the history pointed out all the spots. Was good for a sampler of Budapest as it takes 2 and a half hours each way so can’t expect to spend to much time at each spot did get 2and half hours free time. Thanks Marcus!

          A MUST WHILE IN VIENNA!!
This was one of my most memorable tours. Of course Hallstatt speaks for itself, its beauty and charm. The other villages we stopped at on the way are lovely as well. Being able to enjoy some time and not have to navigate myself was a real treat. What made the trip so memorable was the camaraderie of the group. We hit it off right from the start! There were 2 hilarious strangers (to each other) who had the rest of us laughing so hard, it was something I'll always remember and made the trip extraordinary. The breakfast stop was expensive, as other reviewers have mentioned. And the young man at the checkout was less than friendly. I would have appreciated knowing how to get out of the restaurant! The entrance and exit are in different places and you have to walk through the 'store' part to get out. If there was one thing that put a damper on the journey, I feel the need to mention the driver and his ethnic comments along the way. Very poor taste. I recall other reviews saying the same thing. It's a shame this driver hasn't taken note and deleted those unnecessary and hurtful words from his commentary. It looks like there are at least 2 drivers for this excursion. I got to experience both of them due to a glitch in picking the guests up from their hotel. The first one was great - friendly, chatty and funny. The one for the actual drive to Hallstatt was disappointing. Still, this trip is well worth going on. Hallstatt is romantic, pretty and dreamy.

Don’t Miss This Excursion To Budapest!
What a treat it was to finally see Budapest after hearing so much about it for so many years! Our tour guide Zoltan was wonderfully personable, knowledgeable, and fun to spend the day with — and his excellent driving and parking skills were truly a marvel to behold! The small group (5 total) and comfortable van made this longish excursion a very pleasant one — so glad we were able to squeeze this visit to Budapest into our travel itinerary!

A good trip to get a taste of Prague
My tour guide and driver, Marco, was late on his way to pick me up for the day trip but he sent me a message via WhatsApp, which was appreciated. He was friendly and knowledgeable and a good driver. The drive is 3 1/2 hrs one way so expect to spend a lot of time in the van. Our local guide in Prague, Jane, was friendly and knowledgeable, but seemed more concerned that we shop from local businesses (perhaps they're all friends with her). She was knowledgeable about Prague, but we didn't visit some of the locations on our itinerary like Prague Castle. Also, when she was asked for recommendations for lunch she didn't have any specific places to point us to, she just told the us to go to Old Town. Keep in mind all restaurants and souvenirs shop are in Old Town and the walk back to the meeting point in the New Town was almost a 10 minute walk away from Old Town. This meant your free time is limited to eat, shop, and do what you like.

          Amazing Hallstatt
Hallstatt is every bit as amazing as we hoped from the pictures. While the driving is pretty long from Vienna, we were glad to have made the trip in the off season rather than going on our own. Hallstatt is really a tiny village and it was easy to see how it could be overwhelmed by busloads of tourists that bring in 10X their population in a day during the height of the season. Our tour guide in the town was terrific and gave us a great appreciation for the local history and nearby salt mines. Even though we had sloppy weather on our day, the village and location are still very picturesque and made the drive worth it. Our driver, Roman, was very good and made sure to take regular comfort breaks. Our stops on the way down gave us the chance to see a couple of cute villages we would have otherwise missed.

          A must do!
I had a great time in this trip. Thanks to our driver Zoltan and the fellow passengers for making this trip much more fun than I expected. We had a good breakfast on our way and made 2 stops before reaching Hallstatt. The place was beautiful! Had a wonderful experience.

          Beautiful trip! Highly recommend!
Marco was a really great tour guide with Alligator tours. The van seemed new and very comfortable no matter what row. I loved that Marco spoke through the speakers so everyone could hear him! I can’t believe all the knowledge of everywhere we went. It was a really long day but it was all worth it. We loved our hour tour with Christina at Hallstatt as well and the stops along the way.

We loved our day trip to Cesky Krumlov!

Our group of 4 booked our trip with Alligator Tours. Every aspect of the trip was fantasic. Balazs kept us up to date on the number of travelers and the booking details before we left Vienna. We were picked up punctually and lucky to be the only passengers in the clean and comfortable van. We stopped in the quaint town of Weitra for a walk through the town and up to the castle for a view of the area. The journey didn't seem very long because there was so much nice scenery to look at and Balazs told us facts about the area we were driving through. Once in Cesky Krumlov we met our next guide, Vladmira (cool name!) who gave us an excellent tour of the majestic city from a local's perspective. She knows so much about the history and architecture of the castle, gardens and city, and pointed out things to do and places to eat. After the tour, two hours of free time was just the right amount of time to look around all the shops and walk along the river before heading back to meet Balazs for the ride home.

It was an unforgettable day and I would highly recommend the trip!

We just returned from a trip to Vienna. I had heard about Cesky Krumlov and wanted to do a day trip there. The choice was to take a train which takes (I believe) about 4 1/2 hours since there is no direct line; drive, which would entail getting a rental car and driving about 2 1/2 hours, but we'd have no idea what we were seeing, or signing up for a day tour. I only found one tour from Vienna. It was with White Alligator and there were no prior reviews. Normally, I'd probably pass on that, but I looked up other tours by White Alligator and they were overwhelmingly positive so I figured we'd go with it.
The company is run by two brothers, Balazs and Peter, both of whom I talked to on the phone when arranging the tour. Both spoke excellent english which is obviously a huge plus in a tour guide.
Our guide was Balazs. It was just me, my wife and daughter. He picked us up in a van right on time at 7:00 at our hotel in Vienna. On the way there we stopped at a town called Weitra which had a castle and a really nice little town square. Then we drove up to Cesky Krumlov. Along the way, Balazs explained some of the history and answered a LOT of questions. He said that he was raised in Hungary and had been a freelance journalist for several years. I felt a bit sorry for him as I really love history. He was trying to tell us what we were seeing and I couldn't help but to keep asking him his opinions on current events around the world. I think it made him a bit uncomfortable at first because those subjects can be a little touchy, but living in Arizona, how often am I going to meet someone with his perspective on things? I really enjoyed hearing his views as well as what he had to say about the actual tour (that is when I wasn't constantly going off on a tangent).
When we got to Cesky Krumlov we were met by Vladimira who was their local tour guide that they arrange to take us around. She said that she lived nearby and she did an excellent job telling us about the history and buildings around the town. For the town itself, I don't really have words to describe it. Around every corner is another breathtaking photo opportunity. The best description I can give is that it looks like a set in a Disney movie. Vladimira also showed us some good places to eat and where to buy Moldavite jewelry. Moldavite is a semi-precious gem created by a meteor impact nearby millions of years ago. She also got us a %30 discount on a Moldavite ring that I bought my daughter. After about 2 1/2 hours with Vladimira, we got to walk around the town on our own for about 2 hours. Nothing on the tour was rushed and it ended up being a perfect amount of time for a day trip. Although I could have stayed there for several days. There were several 4 and 5 star hotels. We met back up with Balazs and got back to Vienna at about 7:30 pm.
Overall, I can't recommend this tour highly enough. If you only do one day trip from Vienna this should be it.
