What to Expect
Visit: Tiergarten Schoenbrunn - Zoo Vienna

Head to Tiergarten Schönbrunn (Vienna Zoo) whenever you please for a day of exploring the animal kingdom. Founded as a imperial menagerie in 1752 as part of the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Schönbrunn Palace Gardens (Schlosspark Schoenbrunn), Tiergarten Schönbrunn is the oldest zoo in the world and is consistently named among Europe’s best.
See more than 700 species of animals from every continent as you wander the zoo independently. Marvel at tigers, jaguars, orangutans, koalas and elephants; immerse yourself in the magic of the Amazon; explore the icy Arctic; and feel the heat of a tropical rainforest. The stars of the show are the giant pandas — Tiergarten Schönbrunn is one of the few zoos worldwide to house these rare creatures, and you can learn all about the conservation efforts used to save this beloved species.
After seeing the exhibits, perhaps visit the petting zoo, watch an animal feeding session or hop aboard the panoramic train before making your own way back to your hotel. The recommended visit time for the entire zoo is three hours.
