Great fun! Perfect activity while you're visiting Salzburg. We booked a private session for our family (6 people). Our strudel was very good, Johann's goulash soup was good, but the Vanile Kipferl cookies were amazing!! Lots of fun. The location is excellent - a 500-year-old stone room right near the old toll bridge. The building is the old customs house for Salzburg. We had some beers and enjoyed a wonderful late afternoon here. Highly recommended!

We wanted to do something different while in Salzburg. It was the first time the entire family had been together in almost seven years. We wanted to celebrate the holidays, and learn something new that everyone would find interesting. We had so much fun making the apple strudel and the traditional Salzburg Nockerl together. I highly suggest doing this. It is fun and different and a great time to have for all.

What's not to like about making and eating apple strudel especially when we made it under the direction of a great instructor like Johann? We've never seen dough stretched so large and thin; it's going to take more practice before we get good enough to do this on our own.

His school is in a historic, "cave-like" shop at the entrance to the old-town section of Salzburg that provides a unique ambience. There's space for maybe 10-12 people but Johann was quite accommodating for just the four of us. Beside the strudel, we made Nockerl and tried to make peaks of this simple soufflé resemble the mountains surrounding Salzburg, but our version looked like it some of those peaks were suffering from a little global warming (oven not withstanding). Nevertheless, it was all very tasty!

As part of lunch, Johann had prepared some of the best hot goulash soup we've had on this trip (and we sampled goulash soup in multiple places). Paired with wine, we had a most-enjoyable lunch and cooking experience. If you like to do a little cooking and have the time, we'd recommended this class!

(Oh, one small suggestion: a little ice cream would pair really well with the strudel.)

This was an A+. Johann instructed us on cooking two traditional dishes including Apple Strudel. We also enjoyed a hearty soup and glass of wine. The class is held in a "kitchen in a cave" carved out of the rock face behind the street. I highly recommend.

We are family of four from the USA including our two sons, age 18 and 20. We all absolutely loved our experience. The venue was super cool and historical. The instructors were charming, patient and charismatic. My sons were a little dubious about a cooking class before we attended, but they thoroughly enjoyed themselves from the minute we got underway. My two sons, my husband and I all rated it as one of our top highlights of our 14 day trip to Austria! Could not recommend more strongly!

We had a wonderful Apple Strudel cooking course at the Edelweiss Cook Studio in Salzburg. The instructor was really excellent , managing both English and German languages and making the process easy to follow. . It was great fun and the end result was delicious – everyone was successful. This is a must as part of your visit to Salzburg

This was such a great experience. Johann is a professional and it clearly shows. We made two huge strudels, he was great with the kids, and the location itself was awesome. Our kids were on the younger side (under 8), and they were able to do it and they had a blast. Highly recommend! Plus, his place is a five minute walk from getreidegasse, so you can check out all the great shops before or after.

Loved it!! This is what I was most looking forward to during our trip to Salzburg. Johann is a wonderful host and great teacher. The venue is also amazing. It was a pleasure to be Johann's first lesson after lockdown. The Strudel and Nockerl were super fun to learn and tasted great. And the Gulash Johann made for lunch was delicious. Thanks again and all the best for Summer.
