A wonderful evening: excellent meal and excellent music. Ambience is something special looking out over a snow covered Salzburg.

    A wonderful holiday excursion
What a wonderful evening. A beautiful venue overlooking the city. The dinner was very nice not hurried at all. We had a very personable and professional waiter, the food was delicious, dessert was fabulous! All followed by a beautiful Christmas concert. We would highly recommend this holiday excursion!

    Waste of Money
Food was not good and the service was very slow. It took forever to get our food and when it was brought out, finally, it did not taste good. There were too many guests per serving crew and the service was way too slow.

    Very disappointing dinner
The meal was extremely disappointing. The main course was tough, gristly meat, which the 4 of us had to leave. The soup was satisfactory. The desert was also left as extremely unappealing. The Mozart concert was lovely of a very high standard and enjoyable.

    A Must Do!
We had a great time. The musicians are skilled and engage the audience. The selections are based on the most popular pieces from more than just Mozart. The setting is fantastic with views that are incredible. A Salzburg must do for anyone who likes music of any sort.

    A taste of Salzburg
This was a once in a lifetime experience for me. All of the performers were incredible, and the venue itself was intimate. There wasn’t a single bad seat. The bar was convenient and offered a variety of beverages. I dodnt get the food/drink package (just concert) and I still had a wonderful time. So happy they played Vivaldi (and crushed it), although some holiday music would have been extra special. 10/10

Music is the Heart of Salzburg
You can't visit Salzburg without listening to some of the beautiful music that came from its residents. This concert was really neat in the Fortress. Dress warm in the winter months. Well worth the time. Highly recommend.

    Missed the mark
The room was too warm . The chairs uncomfortable. The musicians were excellent but were not interactive with the audience. I was expecting more holiday experience in music and interaction. Left at half time.

    Dinner and Mozart concert
I gave it a 4 out of five because the Christmas decorations were tired and obviously reused for years past their prime. This is the season of Christmas in Austria! The venue is a castle fortress from the 1500’s! It was painfully obvious to me that the person in charge of decor wears one to many hats and evidently has no idea what a difference those smaller details can make in a customers experience. The bows on the wreaths were not even tied, just a limp old ribbon. It really took away the “special and valued” component for me. This is not an inexpensive night out. That being said, the staff was both helpful and cheerful. The venue was special, the food was good and the concert superb.

    Dinner in the Castle
Well worth the trip, wasnt sure what to expect. However the the first part, going up the lift is an awesome experience. Upon the entrance to the dinner was nice, well worth paying the extra for the VIP package.

The overall experience is wonderful, the sunset views from the fortress are amazing, the dinner was excellent(well worth the additional charge for the”VIP” dinner) and it was fantastic to listen to chamber music at the top of a castle in a room built in the 1600s. The boat ride is not much really, very professional and relaxing but in hindsight would have opted just for the dinner concert and arrived at the fortress early to tour the castle. It’s a great and well run tour.

We are a party of 4; myself and husband, our 16 year old son and my mother. We all enjoyed the whole experience very much and thought it was good value for money. Having never been to Salzburg before it would have been nice to have be pre warned about the uphill walk between the boat drop off point and funicular up to the fortress dinner and concert location. This wasn’t an issue for us but might be a consideration for some. However, the evening was wonderfully musical and memorable.

Outstanding atmospheric experience. We opted for the v.i.p package which was well worth it for a window seat enabling you to enjoy stunning views while eating first class food in a great atmosphere. The concert was amazing very talented musicians and being in the castle as well made for an unforgettable evening - seems expensive at first but really was worth every penny. Only downside was cruise didn't go due to bad weather , but very apologetic staff and instant refund. Overall a must do.

This was not as enjoyable as it should have been mainly because of the lack of coordination.
WARNING: this is not ONE tour experience, it is three separate activities that are sold as one package. But you get passed from one activity to another with no coordination, multiple tickets, and most importantly no transport from one activity to another.

If you have reduced mobility it is actually a rush to get from one thing to the next.

The boat trip was nice, good info and a good view along the river.
BUT THEN, there was a hike across town to get to the funicular railway up to the castle. Nobody to help you where to go or guide you. You're left to your own devices.
Once at the top there is a queue to get into dinner at the Panorama Restaurant.
This is a conveyor belt of a restaurant but which appears to pay no attention to the fact that people have a concert to get to.
Drinks and food were good but were much delayed arriving so that we ended up having to gobble down our food or we would miss the concert start time.
All through dinner we had to chase up to hurry things along.
Even at the end we had to chase down a waitress in order to settle our check.
Then we had to rush through the castle to get to the concert and only just got there with 5 mins to spare.

The concert was actually delightful.
That made up for the rest of the experience. The rating would have been worse if the concert hadn't been so good.
We were in a bad room when we got there but relaxed with the music.

Not the best of experiences overall - spoilt by a lack of coordination between the three separate elements.

If I was doing it another time I would NOT recommend this combo but would instead just get the tickets for the concert.

This was one of our favorite nights from our trip. We booked the ViP package - mainly for the view at dinner - and we were not disappointed! Breathtaking! The meal itself was delicious, and the service was attentive and fun. The musicians put on a truly lovely concert and the location cannot be beat. Although this is certainly a “tourist experience,” don’t let that put you off. You’ll be treated to fine meal, in a gorgeous setting, followed by a first class musical performance. Our group ranged in age from 16 to 70, and this was evening we’ll all remember.

We participated as a couple with our daughter. Please note that if you meet 20 minutes before the ticket issuance, you will not be able to make it in time. There is a line that does not move at the kiosk at the foot of Makart Bridge (Love Lock Bridge) (Old Town side). The app said that the tickets can be issued on the ship, but the staff did not know that, and I was worried that I would not be able to make it in time if I lined up, but the person in charge eventually brought the ticket from the kiosk. Announcements are made in German and English on the ship. At the end, an explanation of what will happen next is displayed on the monitor on the ship. Everyone walks independently to the cable car station at Hohensalzburg Fortress. There is no staff guidance on the way. When you get off the cruise ship, you are thrown out with a feeling of "Well, good luck!". I was lucky that I had walked around the old town after arriving in Salzburg, so I had some familiarity with the area. I recommend walking around the old town once before joining the tour.
I had a VIP dinner, but it was not very good because it was a meal included in the tour. Afterwards, we listened to chamber music in the castle, and the atmosphere was great. We were given free champagne during the break.
Overall, I was very satisfied, but I was a bit confused with the paperwork and other things, so I gave it a 3 out of 5.

This was such a high value experience! We began with a 45min boat ride, which allows you to see and enjoy the city from a different point of view. After the boat ride, you walk about 20min to the base of the Fortress and take a cable car up to the top. Once there, the restaurant serves a beautiful meal with a breathtaking view of the mountains. Drinks are not included in the price of the ticket. After the meal, you enter the Fortress and climb many flights of stairs to enjoy a beautiful concert. There is a lot of walking to and from the Fortress depending on where you park, so wear good walking shoes! I would recommend this excursion to anyone visiting Salzburg!

Taken as a last minute opportunity to fill our evening in Salzburg. Absolutely amazing, highly recommend. I would consider this to be a must do. To actually finish your evening with a 2 hrs concert including music from Mozart, in the town he was born in, in a castle that is almost 1000 years old… is incredible!

This was a great experience for us and probably the best "thing to do in Salzburg.
Good food with a breathtaking views from the fortress. Service was excellent and the souffle was the best we both have ever had. The Mozart concert was wonderful, especially a solo violin performance of Monti's Czardas. We can honestly highly recommend Mozart Concert and VIP Dinner with River Cruise in Salzburg.

The river cruise was ok, nothing particularly interesting about it and the group behind us talked loudly the whole time so it was difficult to hear the narration of the cruise. Walked from the river to the fortress (a little bit of a hike) but the dinner was pretty good. The concert was lovely but it was so hot in the room that lots of people left at intermission. The views from the fortress at sunset were spectacular and the music was lovely. Overall, an enjoyable evening.
