About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- G6912JHnicolem0 contributionsGreat excursionWe where 4 in our group with another couple to make 6 guests. Our host/driver was Panicos. Was very friendly. Have us a lot of information on the area. A bit to talkative would have been nice to enjoy the countryside in silence now and again. He was excellent at taking photos for us to share on your website. Would also have liked for him to take some with my camera that didn’t include the other couple. He was a wonderful host for the day and would highly recommend both him and this excursion.Written 10 January 2025
- ROSU640 contributionsPerfect dayHad the best day out with Christina. She is incredibly knowledgable and so lovely. The tour was fantastic value for money, ate and drank so much, couldn’t have dinner when I got back. There were only 3 of us on this trip so it really did feel like a private tour of this beautiful island. If your in the are I would thoroughly recommend doing.Written 9 January 2025
- artiso20180 contributionsThe best Cyprus taste experienceElena was passionate, knowledgable and pleasant to be with! The tour took us through the mountains in a comfortable van. We had cheese, olive oil, wine and delicious food. Excellent!Written 6 January 2025
- 212lilianak0 contributionsPerfect day trip near Paphos. Wine, food, culture, history, landscapes. From the pick-up at our hotel till the drop-off, everything was just amazing. Our guide was Elena. Elena is an outstanding guide and a fascinating person, very easy to talk to, making the trip smooth and relaxed. She's a very good driver! She provided a lot of information in different topics (history, culture etc.). We visited three vinyeards where we were offered tastings and we could chat with vinyeard owners. An absolute highlight was a visit to a one of kind Ayia Mavri winery in Koliani. Xinisteri forever!Written 6 January 2025
- Nogoodgirl0 contributionsA real ‘Taste of Cyprus’Fabulous day visiting small food and drink producers in the area around Paphos including villages in theTroodos mountains. Christina our guide was amazing, so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. A lovely friendly trip that gives a great insight into artisan producers. Highlights were lunch at a restaurant where they were celebrating a local wedding and seeing the sun set over the mountains from a beautiful monastery.Written 3 January 2025
- mattdC9133YO0 contributionsFantastic tour to enjoy learning about Cyprus, it's culture and it's food with amazing sceneryWe went on the Troodos Mountains Food & Wine Tour from Paphos with Christina and had a really interesting and fun day out. Before the tour I contacted the company to ask a few questions and all the communications throughout were friendly and professional. We booked and the day before the tour were contacted by email to confirm the details around pickup. Christina arrived at the hotel at 9am in a 6 seater "Cyprus Taste Tours" branded people carrier which was very comfortable throughout the day for the 3 of us on that day's tour. One of the things that I really enjoyed about the day was the way that the small group size meant that we could interact and ask questions of both Christina and the people we met. I understand that the itinerary can change between tours, but our first stop was at a 'Cyprus Delight' shop, where we were shown some of the history of how it's made and tasted lots of different flavours: many of which I'd never have even considered putting together. After a folk museum visit we went up towards the mountains to a small, family run Halloumi and Anari maker to see how they are made and try some of the delicious cheeses with a variety of accompaniments. Travelling on through the mountains, the next stop was a winery where we were taken through the production process and taken into the cellars and the bottling area. To say that we got close to the production line was an understatement: at one point we went between the guy doing the bottling and his machine! Obviously it would have been rude to leave without sampling some of their wines, and we were given information about each as we tried it. From the winery we went for lunch, which is included in the tour: we noticed that it's an optional extra on many of them. The taverna we stopped at had some amazing views over the mountains, and the food was delicious. The dishes kept on coming, and they made some alternatives for the vegetarian in our group (he'd let the tour know ahead of time so that it could be prepared). As you'd expect, it was traditional Cypriot food. After lunch we went to the Chrysorrogiatissa Monastery and were shown around by Christina and then moved on to an olive farm to see how olive oil was made. In addition to looking around, we were taken to their sampling room to try a variety of different olive oils to see the differences between the various types and also trying a variety of other products they make. The 'sampling room' really doesn't do it justice. It was a beautiful room with panoramic views over the mountain and valley, and the lady (whose name I've unfortunately forgotten) made it a really fun experience. We were then taken back to our hotel where we arrived at around 5pm and were given a little treat. I've been on tours in the past where it has felt like I've paid to be taken on an extended sales pitch but that definitely wasn't case here. Although there were things for sale at the various stops there never felt like any pressure to buy them or even look at them if you didn't want to. Although the visits on the tour were terrific in their own right, what really made the day was the conversations and discussions with Christina through the day. The information on everything from day to day life in Cyprus, the challenges faced with water at the moment, the history of the Cypriot grape vines and the way that wine making is changing really made me feel like I understood the country far more at the end of the day than I had at the start. The final personal little touch was that a few days after the tour I got a link to an album containing photos of the day. Christina had checked that we were ok to be photographed and we knew she was taking pictures, but it really was lovely to get some pictures of the day (far better composed than the ones I'd taken!) which I added to my own.Written 3 January 2025

The tour is for a max of 6-7 people so it’s not long until everyone is chatting like old friends encouraged by Myra, our knowledgeable and passionate guide.
It’s ideal for those wanting to see and participate in local ways.
Making the Halloumi was fun and therapeutic as was the tasting and Cyprus coffee.
Without giving too much more detail away the itinerary includes a cultural visit, a lovely brunch, a truly amazing unmissable vista and finishing off at a winery with a tasting experience.
The memories from this trip will last a lifetime.

Our guide Christina was amazing! We had lots of helpful knowledge from Christina every step of the way and she took plenty of pictures for us to have after the trip which was very helpful as it allowed us to fully enjoy the day!
We were picked up from our hotel and whisked off to a village in the picturesque mountains for our first stop. We started with the cheese, learning the process and fully immersing ourselves in halloumi making. Then we moved onto a quick coffee break (this was going to be a museum stop not far away in the village, but they had closed last minute, so we changed our plans, however the beach location of the coffee was so lovely that nobody minded!). After coffee we headed back to try some fresh cheese, and then moving a short way onto the beautiful winery, where we had a lovely tour and tasting. From there we stopped at a monastery before going to a taverna for a nice filling lunch. Then our final stop, the delight shop, where we tried a sampling of sweets and learning how they are made before being dropped home.
Overall a lovely day and a great experience! The team are very knowledgeable and friendly, and we had a lovely day seeing another side of Cyprus. Thoroughly recommend for foodies or people wanting a fun day trip out of the city with a good variety of things to do and sights to see!

I did the experience with my mum and although she doesn’t speak English, she still enjoyed it. We went to see and participate in halloumi making experience and then also tried the cheese. It was delicious and was followed by a really nice lunch with a great view of the mountains. We then went to the small winery which was beautiful and also delicious wines followed by a small but very pretty monastery. The experience finished with sample Turkish delights. We were very happy with Myra who was our guide and she made sure we were happy at all times. She also told us interesting facts about Cyprus. Highly recommend this experience.

We booked the Halloumi Heaven & Commandaria Crusade tours and both far exceeded expectations. Christina, our guide, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and had such an obvious passion for her work, making us relax instantly on our first tour and eager for the second to come around. The places we visited were truly authentic; being small places we would barely notice on our own, let alone think to walk in. Tastings were generous and all the Cypriot proprietors had real passion and pride in their produce. The extras like village tours, monasteries and stops at selected shops just added to the experience. We had a brunch and a mezze lunch and both were easily among the best and most authentic meals we had during our time on the island. We can’t recommend Cyprus Taste Tours enough. Our short holiday became a treasured experience. We are, however, heading home with 31kg of extra baggage - so plan ahead because you will want to buy the incredible wines you try!

We were warmly welcomed by our guide Christina. A small group of four and we were soon chatting with ease. The tour began at a Halloumi Cheese family farm. We learned first hand how they make the delicious halloumi cheese and participated in that day's production. It ended with a sampling of fresh halloumi cheese, bread and Cypriot coffee. After a scenic drive, we were treated to a tasty local brunch meze. We continued to a winery where we sampled several of their wines as we enjoyed the amazing view. We then toured a monastery and ended with a visit to a local Cypriot delight store. We highly recommend this tour! Thank you Christina for a wonderful day!

First an foremost be prepared to get stuck in to an hour or so of squeezing the whey out of fresh halloumi, take some care with this as you will be sampling it later.
The tour is expertly run, our guide Maya was informative, knowledgeable and friendly. Certainly knew her way around the island.
The mid-afternoon brunch is a substantial meal, well served. The vineyard we visited offers stunning views from the veranda and outstanding organic wines. t prices of Euro 5-10 it would be wrong not to take a bottle or 3 away with you.
Good day all round, highly recommended

What an amazing experience, and an absolutely lovely guide called Sally-Ann. We felt like friends on a road trip rather than clients and a company rep. Monastery was absolutely stunning, and the frescoes still intact after hh dress of years. Once you taste Halloumi made traditionally (and partly by your own hand) you'll never go back to supermarket Halloumi without a sigh. The Troodos Mountain villages are beautiful, the whole trip was full of stunning views, friendly people and laughter. I'm not a big wine fan, but the Winery visit was amazing and the wines were top-notch according to the wife and rest of the small group. Having only 7 in the group meant nothing was rushed and we all got to actually talk to each other. 100% recommend taking this trip to everyone.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our day out with Myra, who was a very friendly and knowledgeable host. The halloumi making in an artisan kitchen was very interesting and followed by a delicious brunch, which included the cheese we had literally just helped make. Following on we visited a winery for some wine tasting then on to an olive oil producer where we tried a multitude of olive oil products (Olive oil liqueur anyone?). The monastery was next, which had amazing views across the valley to the coast and finished up at a 4th generation owned shop selling their loukoumi, which was also excellent. We would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone. Again, thank you Myra for a very enjoyable day out.

Hands down the best day of our trip to Cyprus was this tour. We did a private tour since we were a group of six. Our guide, Myra, was so lovely and knowledgeable. She got to know us all and made us feel comfortable throughout the day. We learned so much about all the places we visited and felt so fortunate to get to spend the day with locals who welcomed us into their homes and businesses. The lunch we had was delicious. There was so much food, I highly recommend going hungry. Making the halloumi was very special, and we also got to do so much more... wine tasting, olive oil tasting, visiting a monastery, an old village, and a Cyprus delight shop. Even though I have motion sickness, the driving wasn't too bad since we made a lot of stops and Myra was an excellent driver. I can't recommend this tour enough, it really gave us a local experience and one we won't forget.

Hello! We are coming in 12 days, and would love to do this experience! Will it be suitable for our 7yr old too? He also loves Halloumi!
Written 31 July 2024
I think so but it depends on if your 7yr old is ok with a long day! Also some things might be boring for them, like wine tasting. This is what the company says on their FAQ as well, they don't generally recommend this for kids :( I would suggest reaching out to the company and letting them know you have a kid so maybe they can tailor the experience. They say "Many of our participants don’t drink alcohol or just prefer a non-alcoholic option. Just specify this on your registration form and we’ll arrange non-alcoholic traditional Cypriot drinks for you to try!"
