    Excellent food and excellent guide.
Did the walking food tour, with Stefan. Would highly recommend. Lots of variety of foods, a tour of the area and learned a lot about Icelandic history with Stefan's funny stories.

    Interesting
If you're re looking to explore the city beyond the surface level, this tour is recommended. Reykjavík has amazing culture and history and our guide, Einar's story telling skills really brought the city to life. He was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The pace of the tour was comfortable. We stopped for coffee and a bathroom break.

Eerie tales in a serene city
A really wonderful walk with lots of fascinating folklore! Einar was a brilliant guide and imbued each tale with a sense of mystery and fun - even when other tour members weren't too respectful. What a lovely time, thank you!

Not many folklore stories - didn't even name the "13 Santas"
The guide had an excellent actor's voice which really animated the characters in the stories he told. The graveyard and the troll's stone he brought us to were excellent settings. I took off 2 stars because he spent more time joking about the "sibling rivalry" Iceland has with the rest of the Nordic countries and laughing about newscasters trying to pronounce Icelandic names than he did telling the folklore stories I came to hear. His story about a graveyard was told on a city street instead of in the graveyard we later visited. It would have been more effective to go immediately to the troll's stone and give a detailed folklore story there instead of stopping a few other places along the way (in front of modern buildings), and then just talking about a modern troll's stone that required a great deal of effort to remove. When he talked about the Yule Lads (the "13 Santas" promised in the listing), he only named a couple of them and didn't explain what each one is known for. I learned more about them on the CityWalk Reykjavik tour. Iceland has a tremendously rich tradition of stories and sagas. You'd never know that from this tour.

    Get your bearings in Reykjavik
This was a really helpful couple of hours on our first day. Our guide Stefan was good fun and made us feel at home in the city. There are so many interesting facts to learn, it's a no brainer. Well worth the money.

    A tour you must do
What a beautifull tour! With an excellent tour guide Franklin who is born to do this, we love him. All the information he gave about the places, the history, the environment, ....was very welcome and nice to know. We had the chance to go in winter with a lot of snow and beautiful sceneries.....

    Fun and Educational
We wanted to learn more about Icelandic folklore during our short visit, so we decided to book this walking tour. Glad we did! The guide was knowledgeable, funny, and nice- and had a great singing voice lol (he sang some traditional lullabies for us- dark stuff!) We even had a couple of cats and a dog stop by to say hello. Would def recommend this tour.

    Excellent food and guide!
We thoroughly enjoyed our food walking tour with Sveinbjorn! He was extremely knowledgeable about all things Iceland and answered a million questions we had. The food was also excellent and we got to try a wide variety of traditional Icelandic dishes. I don't eat lamb so they were able to substitute other traditional dishes when lamb was served. Overall it was like going out with a friend who was introducing us to his city. Highly recommend!

Blend of history, culture, and folklore with a friendly guide and pleasant group size
My husband and I enjoyed how informative this tour was, with a really nice blend of history, culture and folklore. The group size was really manageable and friendly, and our guide was very knowledgeable and amicable. He even gave us some traditional ghost stories to take away. YFIR seem to really want to look after their guests at every opportunity. We will definitely look at using them again next time we go to Iceland.

Would Definitely Do This One Again
Wonderful tour that ran the gamut of local foods. Einar was a wealth of knowledge, throwing bits of Icelandic history as we went to the different restaurants. Very thankful for this tour as it took us to spots to eat foods we wouldn't have thought to try ourselves. Very proud to say we all tried the shark! Definitely give this tour a try if you're in Reykjavik.

We went to Iceland for a week as a family in March. The cat walking tour was one of our highlights. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Our guide was warm, friendly and welcoming, and was joined by the business owner, who was equally as friendly and helpful. Our host is a true lover of cats (which was ideal as we were missing our three cats at the time). I would highly recommend this unique and enjoyable tour for a great way to spend an afternoon in the beautiful city of Reykjavik.

Bardi was passionate about his cats, informative and engaging all the way. Highly recommend this as a first-day get acquainted tour, especially if you’re coming off a red-eye flight. Even if you’re not a cat person (I’m not particularly but my wife is), you’ll find this an entertaining introduction to this wonderful city.

This is a wonderful tour which blends the love of cats with the history of Iceland. Our tour guide knew all the hang-out spots for the local cats so we got to meet several! The cat cafe was so much fun and a great place to get a snack, drink, and warm up for a bit on a chilly day. We learned a lot about Reykjavik through interesting stories and folklore tales.

OMG what a wonderful experience. Our delightful guide started right off saying he is the proud father of three cats, and at the end of the tour we stopped at his cozy home to meet them. He lives a couple of blocks from THE church, so we boogied right over there after the tour, previously thinking we would have no time at all to se it while we were in Reykjavik. The statue of Leif Erickson was right in front of the church (Does anyone have his phone number???).

The tour included businesses with their own kitties, businesses that sell cat-themed stuff, neighborhood cats, lots of city landmarks, and lots of stories of local cats, plus how their ancestors got to the island in the first place and oohing and ahhing over each other's pix of our own precious cats. The stop at the cat café was charming and yummy and full of photo ops.

So glad we took this tour!

Did two walks the week of Christmas with my son and daughter-in-law....City Walk & Cat Walk. Both were excellent! City Walk was first and Esther E did a great job of telling us not only about the history of the city as well as the country. She also shared quite a bit about their culture. And sorry for not remembering the male guide's name for the Cat Walk, but he was just as informative and educational as Esther E. Doing these walks was a great way to learn from two locals about their country!

If you're a cat lover, then the Reykjavik Catwalk is the one for you. We were hosted by Bardi, one of the walk's designers and he was an absolutely perfect guide; kind, considerate and a genuinely fascinating character. While the Catwalk is a great way to discover the streets of Reykjavik, the emphasis is obviously on cats - you'll hear intriguing tales of Icelandic cat folklore as well as meeting several of the city's famous kitties, who generally spend their time snoozing in various shops. Add to that chance encounters with random cats on the walk and a visit to the cat café, which was one of the walk's highlights. The Catwalk tour felt like a really original idea and was a couple of hours really well spent - couldn't ask for a better experience.

Fantastic tour experience! Bardi was our guide, he made this experience so special and personal for us. Meeting his cat friends in different spots of Reykjavik was great, and we enjoyed listening to facts, fun facts and anecdotes on Iceland and its cats 😸 Highlight was when Bardi invited us to his home to meet his 3 fluffy cat friends. Thanks a lot! :)

Family of three (1 avid cat-lover, 1 cats-are-nice, and 1 cat-hater) - all three enjoyed the experience! It was part cat scavenger hunt, but that only added to the fun (I do believe the cat-hater liked being able to spot cats before any of the others). The stories were great and I could tell our guide Barði enjoyed what he did! This is the experience I share with others when people ask what I did in Iceland! (Pictures of cat-hater and cat-lover ... see, memorable for all!)

Our tour guide Bardi was the best. We had a lovely stroll through downtown Reykjavik where we were introduced to the Shop cats. The Cat Cafe was the high point of the tour. For once, I wasn't the only one stopping to get photos of the cats.

A must for any animal and folklore lover! We walked the city, learning history and spotting the famous cats of Reykjavik along the way. I loved going to the cat cafe and meeting some local kitties up for adoption too. Definitely a one of a kind tour that shouldn’t be missed!
