We had the pleasure of working with Walter Unnarsson in coordinating our transportation to and from the Reykjavik airport, with a pit stop at the Blue Lagoon. Walter is a very courteous driver, and made our experience so enjoyable when we arrived and departed from Iceland. He even made an impromptu stop at a bakery when we landed so we can get some nourishment before hitting the Lagoon. Walter greeted us in the airport on time, helped us with our luggage, and when leaving Iceland, got us back to the airport with plenty of time to spare. We had a great two days of touring with Walter Unnarsson and Iceland Tours by Taxi in Reykjavik. The first day Walter took us on a two hour city tour in Reykjavik and the second day on the Golden Circle Tour, which we absolutely loved. I found Walter via TripAdvisor three weeks before leaving for our cruise. Communication with him was fantastic via email and WhatsApp. He responded immediately to our request for a quote and confirmed all of our arrangements prior to our trip. Walter was always there (at the cruise terminal) prior to pick up time and went out of his way to make sure our trip went smoothly despite the rainy weather both days. We booked the taxi service with the help of our hotel and must say fortunately we got WALTER. He dropped us to the Perlan museum and another day to the harbour. He is so kind, helpful, very punctual and has patience. We wanted his service to drop us to the airport also but he was busy that day so he made an arrangement to get us picked by another friend of his (KALLI). Kalli was also so punctual and answered us with kindness and patience. They both drove us to our desired destinations safely on the slippery roads.

Walter our driver was always on time and went out of his way to make sure our trip went smoothly and was memorable. He was very knowledgeable, polite and respectful. I would highly recommend him and would definitely use the company again.

My mother was overly insistent about going to "the tomato restaurant," and he handled it with a smile. The tour included a lot and Walter was communicative about the time we should take at each stop and answered my "million questions" about daily life in Iceland. We had high expectations and he really impressed. Do yourself the favor, and make him part of your journey.

Great trip! Private is the way to go. We started our tour at 6:30am so there were no crowds. Even made a few bonus stops. Excellent service.

I contacted Walter first thing in the morning to check if he was available on the same day for a day trip to Stykkishholmur and a hotspring . Lucky me, he was. He picked my elderly parent and I at 9 a.m., on such a short notice, and on time. His punctuality continued throughout the trip. In addition to Walter’s punctuality, he has good time management skills so he kept the pace of the trip well. He is understanding of my elderly parent’s needs and mobility challanges, so he was somewhat flexible with schedule management, and also dropped off / picked up us from locations that were better and convenient for us. During the day trip, Walter brought us to scenic view points to take photos and to immerse ourselves in the beauty and amazing energies at those places. Also, he took the scenic Route 47 back to Reykjavik, instead of the Hvalfjorour tunnel. I had totally forgotten to request for Route 47 so I was very happy he used Route 47. Route 47 was indeed a detour but the gorgeous views was worth the longer ride. Overall we had a good and enjoyable day tour with Walter! Oh, we got to ride in our very first electric vehicle with him; Telsa was a good ride!

The Golden Circle tour is a great way to see some highlights of Iceland near Reykjavík. I have done the Golden Circle tour twice now on different trips to Iceland. A private tour with Walter is so much better than a big bus tour! We had previously done the Golden Circle by bus (in 2020) using one of the big tour bus companies. Since the sights are the same, I expected the experience to be similar. However, I am amazed at how much better the private tour was for my family! Our group of 6 included 3 generations (teens, parents, grandparents). Doing the Golden Circle as a private group allowed us to see so much more than on the large bus tour. We were able to stop at several more locations on this tour with Walter. Having a private tour was great because our group was able to spend the amount of time at each stop along the way that matched our interests. With a group of 6 people, it can be hard for all of us to agree. However, we all enjoyed our time with Walter! Walter is truly a professional! He is punctual, communicates well, and helped make our day very special. He has a passion for sharing Iceland with his guests. Walter also has a great sense of humor and I enjoyed talking to him along the journey. We had such a great experience with Walter that I will definitely book tours with him on future trips to Iceland!
