Overview
Silfra is one of the world’s most dramatic snorkeling sites—it’s a glacier meltwater-filled rift formed by the drift of the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. This tour makes snorkeling the rift as easy as possible by including a guide, dry suit and snorkeling equipment, and Silfra entrance fees. After you’ve snorkeled, you’re offered hot chocolate and cookies.
What to Expect
You will meet us at the meeting point located in Silfra, Thingvellir National Park. The tour is approximately 3 hours from arrival to the end of the tour.

Upon arrival at Silfra, your guide will give you your dry suit and snorkeling equipment, and explain how to use this equipment. The guide will also give you advice on how to stay warm and comfortable during your 30 to 40 minute snorkeling tour of the Silfra Hall, Silfra Cathedral, and Silfra Lagoon sites. All participants need to have read and signed the Snorkeling Silfra Medical Statement(view here:  https://www.dive.is/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Silfra-snorkeling-medical_Final.pdf ) and sign our liability release form at the start of the tour (view here:  https://www.dive.is/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/AA_LIABILITY_SNORKELING_2016.pdf )

After the tour you will be offered a hot chocolate and cookies to warm up.

Super cool :)

Don't miss snorkelling in Silfra with Dive. Is. The place where It starts from is beautifull, in the heart of Thingvellir National Park. Everything is well organised, and our guide Fraser is very friendly and super professional. He took time to explain to us everything...More

NINO IS THE BEST

We went snorkeling and it was a great experience. Beautiful under the water. I wish we did the dive but we were not dry suit certified. Our tour guide, Nino (Stephano) made the tour so much more entertaining. We all loved having him on the...More

Amazing Experience with NINO!!!!

This was an honest unbelievable experience. To be able to swim between 2 tectonic plates like that was surreal, and something that I won’t be able to do anywhere else. Yes it was cold, and yes it was a tad bit uncomfortable. But our guide...More

Hi There is no playground or any place in Þinvellir suitable for young children to be alone. I would not recommend to leave children with out supervision in the National Park Þinvellir. Have a nice day

Not something I would recommend. There is no guarantee how long you will be in line and in the water, and once you are in the water you are too far away to do anything in case of emergency. If your children are of an age... More

Lots of hiking right in the park. Not to mention a UNESCO world heritage site. Plenty of beauty to take in.
