The Northern Lights in Iceland attracts worldwide visitors, but knowing when and where to go for a sighting isn’t easy. On this tour, your guide drives you to the best spots in a heated 4x4 vehicle. This small-group tour includes round-trip travel from Reykjavik and a telescope for views. If you don’t see the Northern Lights on your tour, you may rebook free of charge, and weather cancellations are refunded.

  • Your guide takes you to admire the Northern Lights in a heated 4x4 vehicle
  • Tour goes out only when conditions are favorable, with option to reschedule
  • Hassle-free round-trip transport from your Reykjavik hotel
  • Small-group tour limited ensures a personalized experience with your guide
What to Expect
Expect an email confirming the tour the day-of, a decision based on weather. Your guide picks you up from your Reykjavik hotel by 4x4 vehicle and leads the way into the countryside to spot the Northern Lights. With good planning and a little luck, you watch the Northern Lights dance across the evening skies. Peer into the provided telescope as your guide points out constellations and planets. Your tour includes a photograph with the Aurora Borealis behind you if it’s visible. Note that the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings can never be guaranteed. Relax and soak up the scenery with a hot chocolate and a pastry, then return in comfort to your Reykjavik hotel. Tour duration depends on the time of year and weather conditions. Tours may be canceled as late as 6:30pm due to unfavorable weather conditions.

They picked us up from cross roads one block from our hotel in the evening. There were about 7 of us in the Super Jeep all bundled up ready to go. We made a short stop to go to the bathroom in a really cool local museum (it's on my list to visit next time!), then we were off

We did this tour as part of our honeymoon back in February, as both of us have always wanted to see the northern lights. It was breathtaking. From being picked up and dropped to our hotel door and the size of the group this is exceptional value for money. Our guide Throstur
