Overview

Experience Iceland’s most famous sights on this all-day trip from Reykjavík. Jump on a minibus from your Reykjavík hotel, and travel around the Golden Circle to see the Strokkur geyser and Gullfoss waterfall. Take a dip in the hot springs at the Fontana Baths, and enjoy lunch, food samples, and a 2-course dinner during the day before you make your way back to Reykjavík in search of the Northern Lights.

What to Expect

Get picked up in a minibus from your Reykjavík hotel. Pickups happen between 11:30am and 12pm, but make sure to be ready to go right at 11:30am.

Start off by making a stop at Fridheimar Farm (Friðheimar) to try their loved tomato soup and freshly baked bread. Then, it’s off to the Golden Circle where you’ll want to have your camera ready to take some photos.

Visit the Strokkur geyser, and see it spout hot water up 49 to 98 feet (15 to 30 meters). Then, admire the Gullfoss waterfall, which is a big traveler’s attraction of Iceland. The waterfall has an almost stairway-like cascade that flows into the Hvítá River.

Afterward, get back in your minivan until you reach Efstidalur (Efsti-Dalur I). Sample a few of the farm’s products, such as skyr (a kind of thick-set yogurt) and ice cream.

Head on over to the Fontana Baths (Laugarvatn Fontana), and relax in the hot waters of the geothermal spa before dinnertime.

Your 2-course dinner will be served at Lindin, a local restaurant. Soon after you've finished eating, your hunt for the Northern Lights begins as everyone on your tour keeps their eyes peeled on the ride back to the hotels.
