Amazing!
Apr. 2019
I booked this in advance and it was well worth it although in snow the drive to the place was a little scary with wind blowing across the road. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and although I lagged behind bit at the back due to taking pics, the guide at the back was very patient. We visited at the beginning of April and were told this was really the best time of year to see it as the ice stalagmites are well formed. We loved it and I highly recommend it.

Something different to see that doesn't involve snow!

Definitely recommend this excursion. A little out the way but there are other waterfalls that are nearby and worth the visit, as well as a thermal spa nearby! The staff are amazing and really are concerned for the caves and the environment in general. Getting there early also allows you to see the sunrise which is amazing with the mountains in the background.

Amazing
Tour guide Simon was fantastic and informative. This was our first excursion and did not disappoint.
The view along the road was something I've never seen. Breathtaking!
We visited some hotsprings that were for viewing only. After we visted the Lava Fields again incredible!
There were some pitstops along the way and the 2nd pitstop we got some food and then got the next bus to te lava cave.
A short journey brought us to the cave which was a house in the middle of nowhere. We went into the house, greeted by friendly guides, geared up and out we went. The landscape made is feel like we were on the moon. After a short walk we arrived at a stairway down which is the entrance to the cave. Guide was super, the tour was 1.5hrs which ia plenty of time.
After the cave we were dropped back to the 2nd drop off point which is also where the hot tub is. The hot tub is part of a hotel. It was a very welcome ending to a long and great day!
