South Coast Full Day Tour from Reykjavik by Minibus
USD 125.00
Overview
A quick trip to Iceland doesn't mean missing the highlights, and this full-day tour of the South Coast explores glaciers, waterfalls, a volcano, and puffin habitat. You'll travel in a Mercedes Benz minibus that's Wi-Fi equipped, which allows you to upload photos to social media with ease. Stop at Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls, find views of Sólheimajökull glacier and Eyjafjallajökull volcano, and then look for puffins on a black-sand beach. Your guide provides information crucial to understanding Iceland's eco-system throughout the tour.
What to Expect
Meet a driver at your hotel in Reykjavik, boarding a Mercedes Benz Sprinter minibus for a day of South Coast adventures.

Since the van has Wi-Fi, you can keep up with emails or post to social media on the way to the first stops of the day, Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls. Keep your camera out for these—the two waterfalls are a favorite with photographers.

Next, train your lens on Sólheimajökull glacier, part of the Mýrdalsjökull ice cap, and take in Eyjafjallajökull, a fiery volcano that's capped with thick ice.

The day on the South Coast includes some culinary exploring, as well. Try a snack of smoked lamb on flatbread with a typical Icelandic beverage alongside (there's a stop to purchase lunch if desired). Before returning to Reykjavik, head to Reynisfjara black-sand beach, where you might be lucky enough to spot one of Iceland's Atlantic puffins.

Breathtaking!!!! Excellent tour!

Everyone talks about the Golden Circle when coming to Iceland, but honestly the South Coast is a must do. I thought this tour was better than the Golden Circle. The minivan was great, comfortable with well functioning Wi-Fi. Not too many people, like on the...More

Really enjoyed having Addi as our tour guide. She was friendly from the start and had great knowledge of the geology of what we were seeing. Also introduced us to some good Icelandic music. I'd recommend this tour, especially if you get Addi as your...More

Gotta do this!

First, a word or two of caution. If you're tall (over 5'9"), some of the seats on the minibus are pretty tight and may be uncomfortable - pick your seat carefully. Also, to get the most from this tour, be prepared to get wet, muddy,...More

I would bet on it. Two blocks from the city center is the Hilton. Bus stop is in on embassy side of building. They may have an even closer stop to your location. We found the company to be extremely accommodating.
