Reykjanes Peninsula Day Trip from Reykjavik with Optional Blue Lagoon Drop-Off
From USD 98.00
Overview
Iceland’s Reykjanes Peninsula is a land of spectacular coastline, soaring cliffs, and geothermal lava fields—and a guided tour ensures you see all the highlights on one seamless trip from Reykjavik. On this sightseeing tour, discover top attractions including Strandarkirkja church and Reykjanesviti lighthouse, and visit geothermal Gunnuhver and Krýsuvík with your guide. Enjoy pickup from your Reykjavik hotel and optional drop-off at the Blue Lagoon.
What to Expect
Your tour begins with morning pickup at your centrally located Reykjavik hotel or the bus terminal. Then, head out of the city to the Reykjanes Peninsula—home to dramatic coastlines, bubbling lava fields, and quaint towns.

Spin through the town of Eyrarbakki en route to Strandarkirkja church, and admire sweeping views across the Icelandic countryside along the way. Explore the geothermal hot spots of Krýsuvík and Gunnuhver with your group, and gain insight into Iceland’s rich geology.

Next, head through Grindavík to the coast, where rolling waves crash into the cliffs beneath the Reykjanesviti lighthouse. Here, capture the dramatic scenery on camera.

See the area where the American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet, and perhaps finish with a visit to the Blue Lagoon (book separately, in advance, at your own expense). Alternatively, your bus returns you to your starting point in central Reykjavik to conclude your tour.

One disappointment after another

We reluctantly booked a tour with Reykjavik Excursions. Initially, the company had very good reviews; but within the past year their ratings seem to have really slipped. Even so, Reykjavik Excursions was the only company we found that offered a Reykjanes Peninsula tour. We got...More

An unexpectedly fantastic tour

We had an extra day on our one-week vacation to Reykjavik and made a last-minute decision to spend it on this tour. We had already taken the golden circle and south coast tours and were looking for something else to see. Our hotel recommended this...More

lovely tour

After our original booking was cancelled - they don't do this tour on Sunday anymore, we changed the day and it was worth it. What a lovely tour. The hot springs were so cool and something I had not seen before. Lunch was at a...More

One of our favorite things in Iceland!!!!

This may have been our favorite tour we did while in Iceland! We visited in late November, so it was full-on winter with snow and ice and rain, but that did not stop us from seeing all of the gorgeous sights of Iceland, just in...More

When I spoke to the company during our planning stage, they told me to plan around a 4.30pm arrival. So we booked entry for 5pm to give us a bit of a buffer in case the tour was late. The Blue Lagoon gives you a one hour... More
