        Something fun to do !
Activity combining icefishing and a 20 minutes snowshoe walk in the woods, lunch by the fire with salmon/bread and marshmallows. Informative training on how to drill the ice and fish. Nice staffs. From my understanding, it's rather rare to catch fish. More like a fun try. Duration a bit long though.

        Without passion
I don't feel like recommending this agency. The tour itself is ok, nothing special but ok. The thing I didn't like was our guide , Carlos: not at all friendly or sociable, he repeated things as if he were on the radio, without passion or even a hint of sympathy. I have done other tours with other agencies and the guys were completely different, full of enthusiasm and nice. I also emailed the agency to see if they had found anything I had missed on the hike and they didn't even respond.

Tour guide amazing, the tour itself not so much
We actually took the 5 km one but I guess it’s the same. We didn’t like the experience that much, the owner of the place didn’t explain anything to us about the dogs, the tradition behind it etc. the ride itself had a nice view, it was on a frozen lake, so you get the same view for the whole ride and you have to go with strangers if you’re not a group of 4 people. Also the dogs didn’t go fast, maybe because they were tired? Not sure how many rides they do per day. I would give 5+ stars to our guide Cristina, she was the only one to actually explain what kind of dogs they used for the ride, the history etc and she was super nice and prepared, so I would definitely recommend to take tours with her!

Don’t use this tour agency, Thera are mor responsable an high quality service
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the complete disorganization of the tour. Two days before the tour, I was informed of an arbitrary schedule change, only for it to be reverted to the original time later. This should have been an early indication of the lack of coordination. Upon arriving at the meeting point, the area was overcrowded and chaotic, making it impossible to navigate or find assistance. There was no staff available to provide clear guidance, let alone respond kindly to inquiries. Eventually, a young man rushed us to a small 5x5 meter cabin packed with 20 people attempting to change in an incredibly cramped space. The so-called “guide” neither offered assistance nor explained what was going to happen. We were left to fend for ourselves, moving between the facilities and the water without any support. My mother was given a wetsuit that was already wet, which soaked her socks and thermal clothing before the activity even began. When she requested a different suit, the overcrowding made the situation unbearable, triggering claustrophobia and preventing her from completing the experience. The lack of organization was evident in every aspect: overbooked groups, poorly trained staff, and a complete absence of customer service. The facilities were inadequate, with just one restroom for an excessive number of people. The area where we were supposed to float was overcrowded, causing constant collisions with others. Back in the “dressing room,” there was no one available to assist with removing the wetsuit. Later, we were offered a small cup of hot sugary juice in another overcrowded space, where it was impossible to even sit down. The entire experience was unpleasant due to the poor equipment, excessive number of participants, and lack of service. I would neither recommend your tours nor book with your company again. In contrast, we recently participated in several tours with Arctic Circle, which provided a vastly superior experience. Their staff prioritizes customer care, uses high-quality equipment, offers spacious facilities, and handles everything professionally. I hope this reaches your customer service team. This was a complete organizational disaster, and we were deeply dissatisfied with every aspect of the tour

        Snowmobile delight!
Amazing!! Great snowmobile tour. All equipment supplied, clear instructions and well catered for all skill levels. The track was nice and close to Rovamami so the commute time only 15 minutes or so. Great day out!

BIG GROUP TOURS - Disappointed by how they handled their mistake
We booked 2 tours with this provider: 1 booked with Manawa (Northern light esperience), and 1 booked directly on-site (snowmobile tour). The Northern light experience takes place within a big group (full bus), and the location is only 15 minutes' drive from Rovaniemi: once you arrive there, you don't change location, you sit there, make a barbecue and (fingers crossed!) you can see the Northern lights. Then, we booked on-site a snowmobile tour, wich was overall nice; however, we are very disappointed by the last-second change in the starting time that was communicated to us by Whatsapp only 4.5 hours after we booked the tour directly at their office! Around 17:00, we booked the tour for the day after at 10:00 am; then, around 21:30, they called us to say that - due to a mistake ok their side - the tour was moved at 8:30 am. We asked for an explanation, we wanted to get our money back since we were not happy with the new starting time, but they refused to give our money back. We are sorry but this last second change due to their mistake - without giving us any explanation - was UNACCEPTABLE!

Could take it or leave it, expensive attraction that didn’t hit the mark by far.
The peak season bus loads of day visitors daily filled all attractions by 11am and left us as with limited options to enjoy the attractions. We were house guests of the Santa Claus igloos and as paying house guests you would expect any kind of “insider passes” or “guest priority bookings”. Basically if you didn’t book the day before you didn’t get on any rides. Santa experience is rushed and commercialised, he said “hello” then “I hope you enjoy your stay in Finland” to every guest we paid $55EURO for 3 digital downloads. Also if you are planning a trip, you should pre-book your rides and events, and make sure you budget for $50 EURO each for long queues and short rides. Basically allow $500 euro for a full day to experience all attractions. Then there is the 15-20 gift shops you would do well if you are able to avoid. The least memorable was the “information” stand were the girls were there to sell “Arctic circle certificates” and basically couldn’t help me when I asked which food venues had kids menus, they tried to upsell me to the “ice world experience as it has a bar”. 🤷‍♂️ anyway if you are after a pretty old and tacky amusement park basing its revenue of Santa himself… you found it.

        Excellent!
I recently participated in the 5 km Snowy Trails Husky Safari with Nordic Unique Travels in Rovaniemi, and it was an exhilarating experience. Our guide, Heidi, was exceptional; she took great care of us and provided fascinating insights into the lives and training of huskies. It was something I'll never forget. I highly recommend this adventure to anyone seeking an authentic Arctic experience.

        Amazing
I recently participated in the "Bus Tour with Hunting Northern Lights" in Rovaniemi, and it was an unforgettable experience. The tour was exceptionally well-organized; our guides, Irene and Pierre, selected optimal locations for viewing the aurora borealis, ensuring we had the best chance to witness this natural wonder. After the viewing, they took us to a warm, comfortable setting where they provided insightful information about the aurora borealis, enhancing our understanding and appreciation. Their assistance with photography was invaluable, helping us capture stunning images of the lights. I highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking a comprehensive and enjoyable northern lights experience. Ioana

        Don’t fall for it!
It’s terrible. Don’t fall for it. DO NOT do both things below : book through Nordic and go for this scamming activity. This was what happened: 1. It was not magical as it described on the website. We were being brought to a “husky farm” after about 40min coach ride. There wasn’t a proper toilet for guests to use before or after the husky ride. 2. There was no proper briefing to tell you what to expect during the ride. No talking to you about the life of the huskies. Most of the dogs don’t look like husky at all. They looked really like mongrels. 3. We were hurried to the sled after some hot berry juice in the tipi. 4. The dogs ran for about 4km to 5km to “chase” the northern lights. Which there were nothing to see although the sky were clear. The guide driving the sled did not stop at any point at all to allow us to see if there are activities in the sky. 5. After the ride, came down from the sled and we were asked to return to the coach. 6. At this point, the co-guide told us that they will bring us to try to catch aurora at a nearby forest area. 7. The bus wanted to turn into the forest area (there were many other tour buses already there), but Massi, the main guide stopped the driver and told him that Nordic office instructed him to return to the office. 8. We then asked Massi why. He gave a few crappy reasons. He said A) We already caught the aurora earlier during the husky ride, so there wasn’t a need to continue the chase. B) the tour we booked is only for 5km distance which already covered by the husky. This was rubbish. C) We paid lower price package. Again it’s rubbish because we paid 189 Euros! Guys, if you are reading this. Please do not fall for the description. We had done top notch Husky ride experience in another city in Finland. This offered by Nordic was the worst experience we had in Finland. Nordic offered us some refunds but offered zero explanation on why they screwed up our tour experience.

        Amazing experience..!
We had an amazing experience with Nordic Unique Travels, booked through GetYourGuide.com! The tour included an exciting 1h snowmobile safari, a charming 5-10 minute husky sled ride, and a peaceful reindeer sled experience. A huge thank you to Jonas and Camille, who were absolutely wonderful! They were super friendly, always smiling, and made sure everything was perfect. If you’re planning a trip to Lapland, I highly recommend this agency with no hesitation. It was a magical day, and we couldn’t have asked for better guides!

Prefer smaller group and dog farm
Third time doing dog sledding with my daughter, and this is by far the least enjoyable experience. When mass tourism meet mass dog farm (over 200 dogs)... On arrival, the huge dog farm is not the most enjoyable experience for children. Also with 15 sleds on a short track you spend a lot of time waiting on the track and not riding. Was surprised to see that in this package, clothing is not included on the price and must be rented separately while guide doesn’t actually check that you are equipped adequately before leaving. So, from my experience, if you can find smaller group and smaller dog farms the experience is so much more enjoyable.

We booked a different tour but we’re upgraded free of charge to this one, the guides were brilliant Tomasz, Joey & Michela we’re so helpful and the food was great, cooking it on a bonfire was a real treat. Finally Lorenzo “ The Aurora Whisperer” was amazing, so helpful, adjusting everyone’s camera settings and taking loads of pictures of everyone, his patience was brilliant. And then finally the lights appeared so it couldn’t have been more perfect. Thank you so much everyone.

Our experience is really great. From the time of booking and the staff via whatsapp always updating me and my hubby regarding when is the best day to see the northern lights to the actual northern lights photo tour was an excellent and amazing experience. Kudos to our amazing guide, Lorenzo, for not only making our long-drive enjoyable by listening to very nice music, good driving skills and sharing of lovely stories, the photos he took were beyond amazing. He is also on time, very friendly, nice to speak with and also told us about very interesting facts about Northern Finland and his nice experiences. The best thing was that he gave his 200% best to ensure we saw the northern lights and we really did see, not only once, not twice and not even thrice. We saw the northern lights more times than we can imagine in its full glory, dancing in our naked eyes, even during the drive! We are so happy and thankful to Lorenzo for making our northern lights experience amazing and unforgettable. He is the best guide anyone can ask for if you want to have an excellent experience with northern lights. Next time, we would like to return with some of our family and friends and we will definitely book again this tour, hopefully, Lorenzo will be available :)

We took the aurora hunting photography tour with the guide name Jordie, on time, very flexible, friendly, charismatic, told me and my mom about very interesting facts about Lapland and it's nature. Eventhough we did not get to see the northern lights due to weather conditions we enjoyed the ride and the snacks we had by a frozen lake and a fire.
He really tried hunting the northern lights for us and pushed a little extra, which in these cases, I believe to be the best type of guide you can wish for!

Possibly the most boring tour we've ever been on. We got unlucky with a cloudy sky but, in all honesty, the time spent 'waiting' could've been used with giving a long spiel about the Northern Lights (as detailed in the brochure - we got no info at all) and a group photography lesson (we were given tips because we specifically asked). It's a pity because the guides were lovely people and they extended the tour by one hour in case clouds cleared, just unfortunate that they did't manage to engage the group and be more interactive with the whole group (not just those who were next to them). The agency seems to have good reviews for active tours but, on a weather-dependent tour, you really need to pour loads of guiding experience to make it feel worthwhile, both in terms of time and money. They really need to give these tours to the most experienced and outgoing guides, in my honest opinion. Disappointed, to say the least, on the only paid tour we chose to do in Rovaniemi.
Also, IF you are looking for an agency that offers any kind of COVID safety, you won't find it here. Never asked for our vacc certificates (so no one else was either) and in a small vehicle with 6 other people for a considerable amount of time.

the staff was not really involved. the guide in Spanish spent the whole trip paying attention to his family 2 cousins (as if only they had paid for the tour). The other guides very little involved and rude, it was not possible to see the northern lights (further frustrating the tour). it really isn't worth 110 euros at all, a waste of time and money. And the photografer make part of tour not really patient with all tourists!

Dear Lizandra, First at all we were able to see the northern lights that night and we have the photos taken by the photographer that can prove that: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1xYeAUhHiIbk-gZD2WNqmvSOGeq1RQWb-?usp=sharing Our guides are not rude and they were trying to help to set the cameras for all the guests and prepare the barbecue for everyone while the photographer was taking the pictures. When northern lights appear they can stay out there only a few seconds so it is important that we manage to take photos with everyone and the northern lights before they are gone. Anyway we are sorry we could not provide the alcohol in the tour but unfortunately it is not included in the package as you were asking for. Best regards, Nordic Unique Travels

This review feels special because although we were not lucky enough to view the Northern Lights due to heavy cloud cover, I still think it was one of the most memorable nights in my life!

This was due to several firsts - walking on frozen lakes, have a traditional Lappish barbecue out in the wild in biting cold and walking and sinking into knee-deep snow at the same time! Our tour guide, Clement, is very friendly, cheerful and deeply knowledgeable about Finnish culture and Northern Lights! I had a great time discussing our home countries' cultures with each other.

For me, it was truly inspirational in how Clement remained cheerful and never gave up hope by moving to different locations to have better chances. Even when it became clear we would not be seeing the Northern Lights that night, he told us how we might be able to see it later from near our hotels! He is a wonderful person and tour guide and I am sure other tourists would greatly enjoy having him as their guide. Oh and also, he is a fantastic photographer!

Thank you, Clement and Nordic Unique Travels!

What an amazing experince! Our tour guide Sergio was really taking good care of the group, we all got to know a bit about each other, he explained to us everything about the northern lights and showed us very useful apps for northern lights forecast. He prepared a nice bbq for us and brought a lot of hot berry juice to keep us warm! He also took the most beautiful photos of every single one of us with the northern lights. Even at the last moment, after he packed all oh his equipment and just when we were about to leave, Aurora was the brightest ,so he took his camera again and took more photos of us with the very bright lights! He really cared about our experience that night, as he knew for most of us it was a dream to see the northern lights 😊

I really recommend this tour, would do it again without thinking! 🌟
Thank you Sergio for the most wonderful tour!

The trip was more focused on the bbq rather than hunting the northern lights. The guide took us to some frozen lake (20 minute drive from city center) and didn't bother to look for other places where the northern lights would be visible. A friend of mine was on another tour at the same time and their tour guide went to several places until they saw the northern lights.

I booked the same tour as my friend the next day and managed to see the northern lights. The tour guide even took us to Sweden (3 hour drive) just to get a clearer sky. I would recommend Wild About Lapland tour if you really want to see the northern lights!

We were disappointed with this tour.

Firstly, we didn’t see the northern light as there was thick 100% cloud cover, which I acknowledge is beyond the control of the tour operators. However, 3 nights later (on the evening we were leaving Rovaniemi) we observed the northern lights from the park area just north of the city looking out across the frozen Kemijoki River. Despite this being a less than ideal location on account of the light pollution and early in the evening we still got a reasonable viewing and hand held phone camera photos.

This made me question these high-cost tours such as the one we went on, which have low probability of success (need clear sky and sufficient solar activity). My suggestion is don’t book until you have a high degree of certainty of clear sky and solar activity – there are various apps that will provide you with good predictions of both, or alternatively simply hire a driver/vehicle for the evening and drive to a spot away from the light pollution and with good view of the sky.

Secondly, there was no photographic instruction (even of a general nature for future reference), or explanation how the Northern Lights are formed. All we did was stand around the fire, cook some reindeer sausage and marshmallows and drink hot blueberry juice, and the photographer did a photo of each group on the tour.

Dear Mark E, Thank you for your time and the review. We appreciate your kind understanding that auroras can't be guaranteed since it depends on nature. However, we would improve our service during the tour with more introduction and instructions based on your kind feedback. Thank you again for your suggestions, and we apologize for the possible inconvenience. Warm regards, Nordic Unique Travels

We have done another tour with Nordic Unique Travel and were so pleased that we decided to choose them for our last chance to seeing northern lights.

What a great choice! Lorenzo was our guide, he is a true northern lights lover. We did absolutely his best to ensure we could see them. And we did! A dream came true.

Lorenzo gives his honest forecast about whether you will be able to hunt the northern lights, but his personal commitment makes it possible.

We will definitely repeat again with Nordic Unique Travels and Lorenzo for our next visit to Rovaniemi.

*Likely to sell out: Based on Viator’s booking data and information from the provider from the past 30 days, it seems likely this experience will sell out through Viator, a Tripadvisor company.
