About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Pioneer3212370 contributionsNo ShowWe showed up on time for the tour but the guide was a no show. We contacted the tour operator but they never responded. We did get a full refund which is appreciated but no apology for wasting our time and the round trip transportation cost.Written 9 December 2024
- janicek6110 contributionsNot good.Guide never showed up. Waited 15 mins. Contacted Aviator for refund. And went thru their live chat, which was a lot of back and forth. Said they initiated refund but no excuse or reason given for the guide not showing or contacting me priorWritten 5 December 2024
- kc487939390 contributionsMaximize your time in StockholmVery nice tour. I was one of only four guests, which was lovely. Natia was lovely, and very knowledgable. This was a great way to really appreciate the Old Town, beyond just walking around by yourself. I got a good feel for the history, and saw a lot of interesting things I wouldn't have known to look for on my own.Written 19 November 2024
- Watties20130 contributionsGuide did not show upThe guide did not show up hence the bad review. No communications at all from the tour operator which was very frustrating as we could have booked another tour if they had cancelled prior to the time. Just a waste of time for us and really disappointed. One positive was that the payment was refunded once I requested it.Written 17 November 2024

- Tinaithomas0 contributionsGreat Old Town Stockholm tour!Chada was our guide through the beautiful Old Town and did a great job answering questions and providing us with the history! He was very kind and helped everyone with recommendations and answers. He even assisted one set of travelers in getting where they wanted to go after the tour. We would gladly do this again!!Written 1 September 2024
- 705hilaryy0 contributionsGuide lacked knowledge and tour was much shorter than advertised.Tour was supposed to be two hours and was less than 1 hour and 15 minutes. Guide didn't seem to know much, indeed didn't seem to understand the questions being asked. She told us about "ground zero" which should have been "point zero" and she said it was somewhere other than it was. She didn't know that the German Church was Lutheran or why the Swedish Royal family attends a German Church. She kept looking at her phone and reciting facts. It was pretty bad. When we asked a Church employee the answers to our questions, they were answered, but when I tried to pass that info along to our guide, she was uninterested. I know those seem like small details but in a 75 minute tour the German Church was about 10% of the total tour. What's worse, I thought the price was in CAD but it was in USD so we paid more than $60 each for this quick and superficial tour. Do not recommend. Maybe your guide will be better...Written 6 August 2024
- my_spirit_always0 contributionsJust okayWe learnt some things about the old town and the history in general. If I compare it to other tours, it lacked pzazz and humour. Also I booked it as it was described as imaginative taking us back in time with story telling. This tour fell short of that. Let’s just say the young woman did her best but it wasn’t memorable in any way, unlike other tours we’ve done. I’m not sure she was feeling her best so maybe we didn’t get her best. Nothing personal just honest.Written 4 June 2024
- Freedom621430 contributionsOld Town in a nutshell.A well presented old town tour that covered the history of the area and its’ buildings/people. Alice was an excellent guide who responded well to questions in addition to passing along suggestions for an afternoon lunch or dinner. Would highly recommend the tour which keeps the group to a small number. Only four of us on this particular two hour trip.Written 30 May 2024

- karenmK9289CL0 contributionstoo badThis was the most terrible dinner experience that i haved ever been to. The personal was a little bit rude against me just because i asked for extra sauce and because i didn't now Swedish (I'm a tourist). And the worst part was that i got some raw fish that I didn't ask for . It was so overpriced.Written 7 May 2024

Phenomenal way to introduce yourself to a new city. First timers to Stockholm, Soma (our guide) was very warm and bubbly and took us on a memorable walk about the city, giving insightful info about its history. In terms of the food, we were so impressed with the selection and quality of the samplings. All places were local restaurants/cafes frequented by locals - giving a more authentic feel to the tour. The food was delicious, filling and tastefully put together (starters, main course then dessert treats). This is probably the best food tour we've done in Europe! Thank you Soma.

The Stockholm Food Tour was one of the highlights of my Stockholm experience. With our knowledgeable tour guide Dimiti, we enjoyed learning about Stockholm, seeing the sites and sampling traditional foods along the way. We had 10 people total in our tour group, which Dimitri said was smaller than usual. Our tour took place on a Tuesday morning, so maybe we just got lucky. Dimitri impressed us not only with his expertise in Stockhholm and its cuisine but also with insights into the Swedish healthcare system and Dala horses when other guests asked questions unrelated to food.
I particularly loved the cheese, seafood, meatball and kanelbullar samples we ate during the food tour. I did not enjoy the black licorice samples, but seeing everyone’s reactions made this a fun and a memorable part of the tour!
The customer experience from start to finish was effortless. We easily booked and paid for our tickets online, and on the day of the tour, we found Dimitri at the Ostermalm Saluhall entrance per the instructions in the confirmation email.
Travel tip: I suggest you book this food tour early in your trip so you have a better understanding of local dishes for the remainder of your visit. When we ate at restaurants later during our trip, we often ordered specific dishes based on what we learned from the food tour.
If you’re a foodie, food lover or a baker (I’m all three!), this tour is an absolute must for your Stockholm itinerary.

We had a wonderful tour and eat some great food. We meet some people that really helped us enjoy our first day in town. The guide really worked hard to get everyone involved and answered all of our questions. The one complaint was that we had 17 people on this tour. It really limited what we could see and hear. She really tried to project her voice but in a market place it was just not enough. 17 people was the only item I can complain about. 17? Look at the picture. 17 Samples

We really enjoyed this tour! There was a nice variety of food and locations around the city. We did the 4:00 pm tour and ended up with a private tour since we were the ones ones booked for that slot. There was plenty of food, it served as our dinner that evening. Our guide, Teresa, was wonderful! As a local, she shared tons of great info about food traditions in Sweden and also about the areas of the city we walked through.

The tour was cancelled 1,5 hour up front due "several of our restaurants having to keep closed totday".
Today is Ascension Day (a holiday) but everything in the city seems open and even if it were true, this is hardly something you wouldn't be aware of longer than 1,5 hour up front?
I get unforeseen circumstances but this seemed preventable and these things matter when you have limited time and you need to find an alternative.
The one star is for the organization. The tour itself seems great looking at the reviews.

My husband and I like to go on food tours when we travel so I picked this one after looking at the reviews. My main complaint was the size of the tour. I didn't say anything about it but several people did. It said maximum of 12 people. We had 21! That made it harder to move around and gather together and hear the guide. When a woman complained about the size of the group he just brushed it off and said that they didn't want to turn anyone away and it's a popular tour. We walked all over Stockholm and sampled food at two large food halls and ended up at a cafe for pastry and ate outside on the top floor of the building. I enjoyed tasting all the different foods including reindeer, mouse and bear!. We don't eat pork and our guide was able to get us something else at one of the stops. Cotton was very knowledgeable about all the food we ate. He could have been a little more personable. Overall, we enjoyed the tour and the food we ate.

Everything about the tour was excellent. We started in one of the food halls with cheese tastings, proceeded with hams and sausages followed by legendary Swedish meatballs. Later on, we went to another food hall where we tried a fish soup and other fish-based snacks, followed by a tasting of licorice candy. Lastly, we went to the old town for a "fika" - a coffee break with a cinnamon bun. Along the way Demetrious, our guide was telling us about the places that we are walking through, about the city, the country, and the culture which was very interesting. Highly recommended!

We loved the traditional Swedish foods from two food halls and a fika cafe. Having a guide to share the history and significance of each shop, restaurant, and snack made the experience even better as we made our way around the important neighborhoods Stockholm. There was also great variety in the foods we tried, and many places that we would like to come back to try more. Thank you for a fantastic tour!

The tour gave a very good sampling of Swedish cuisine. Our guide was unfortunately quite soft-spoken and, when prompted, he would provide information but overall, somewhat sparse on info. Our tour was supposed to last four hours but ended abruptly at three hours and 15 minutes when the tour guide left. I've taken a lot of tours, and unfortunately, this particular tour guide was not as well-suited to give a proper tour. That being said, we really did enjoy the experience overall, and met a lot of good people and sampled some excellent Swedish cuisine so it was not a loss. I've just had much more dynamic tour guides than this particular experience. It may have been better if we were equipped with listening devices to be able to capture the experience a little more robustly. And a bit more enthusiasm on the part of the guide would have been appreciated.

Great way to get a sampling of traditional Swedish food. The tour started at a food hall where we got some small bites of Swedish cheeses, meats (reindeer, moose, bear), and meatballs. 2nd stop was at another food hall where we had a licorice tasting — probably my least favorite part of the tour since I’m not a fan, but it was certainly authentic. The last 2 legs of the tour were the major highlights since we got to sit down at a restaurant for wine and fish stew, and then ended at a cafe for traditional Fika of coffee and cinnamon bun. I’d personally take out the licorice leg of the tour to lessen the 4-hour duration, but I know some folk would say it’s part of tradition. Lastly, major props to Matt, our tour guide, for showing our large group a fun and tasty time.

I have been on only one food tour previously and I found that there was too much food! This unfortunately has put me off. Is this a tasting tour ?

I would assume that you are paying for someone’s time, so regardless if they are children or adults it’s the size of the group I would guess.
